She listened to what I wanted, she was relaxed and approachable, I felt comfortable talking to her and she was clearly knowledgable about the Aveda range, without being at all pushy. Review of Aveda Purifying Gel Cleanser

Freederm Acne Treatment Gel

Advantages: Doesn't cause dry skin, soreness or iriitation after use
Disadvantages: Doesn't work on all kinds of spots

...At 32 I am still finding that I am getting some spots and was determined to find a good treatment that will help clear them up. Having tried lots of over the counter creams which have only made my skin very dry, red and sore I had almost given up hope of finding anything that I could use without my skin ending up more sore and irritated than before. I then saw a TV advert for Freederm and thought "it's worth a try I've tried everything else available" so off I went to my local Boots and bought some. I was quite taken aback at the price (about £9), and was a bit sceptical whether it would be worth buying as I have tried so many other products and been majorly disappointed with them. My answer to dry hair is.....

Advantages: Soft, moisturised, glossy hair in 5 minutes
Disadvantages: Bit pricey I guess

...I certainly love the winter but years of colouring my hair (and possibly age...no it can't be that!) do take their toll especially in the winter. My hair isn't damaged (and I do use a treatment every couple of months to help minimise damage) but at this time of year exposure to moisture, central heating and the cold really dry my hair out. Add a bit of restructure to your life

Advantages: Sorts out damaged hair brilliantly
Disadvantages: Expensive and if overused can make your hair a bit limp

Aveda Sap Moss Shampoo

Advantages: Makes your hair smell and feel fantastic

...Aveda makes a large range of hair care products. They are not tested upon animals and are made from natural ingredients. I have already tried the Aveda range before, and was impressed by this product when I saw it on QVC. You can also buy it from Aveda hair salons and over the internet from Aveda.com. This is a pricey product. It comes in a range of sizes from 250ml to a full litre pump bottle. Prices start at about £10 to £40 for the litre pump. However, it is economical - a little goes a long way. I have a friend who bought the litre bottle and it lasted for 6 months of daily use. I bought the 250ml bottle as part of a special offer that included the conditioner for £20. The secret of the shampoo is that you leave it on for a few minutes for the moisturising benefits of the Sap Moss to take effect before you wash it off...

Treatment for teenage skin

...Clearasil Ultra Deep Pore Treatment Pads are designed to "fight spots and reduce redness to give you visibly clearer skin in just 3 days". The product is clearly marketed at teenagers with problem skin - the adverts on TV for Clearasil products usually feature a teenager getting ready for a party, realising that they have a spot, getting despondent that the spot will ruin the party, being advised to use Clearasil and applying it. By the end of the advert the viewer sees the spot fearing teenager at the party surrounded by attractive people of the opposite sex - which we know would not have happened it they still had that awful spot! I usually lack sympathy for the teenagers featured in these adverts - they're teenagers and therefore are meant to have spots. However, it's a different story when you reach the grand old age of 26...

Aveda Loose Powder

Advantages: great finish
Disadvantages: smallish pot

...This is my new favourite loose powder (which was previously Lancome). What's special about it is that it's the first loose powder which never irritates my skin, even if I don't wear a foundation or base underneath. My guess is that's because Aveda don't use mineral oil in any of their products, unlike most powders on the market. (it does contain talc though, so won't be suitable for those who have a sensitivity to that). The other great thing about this is that it's absolutely compatible with every other foundation I've tried it with - brands ranging from Maybelline to Nars and Boots to Sisley. Most powders work with some brands and not others, but here the colour and texture always stays true....

Quick fix colour from Aveda

...If anyone likes to colour their hair, but only wants a quick fix this is the one for you. Or even if you have coloured your hair and you want to help keep the colour looking even more vibrant then this is it. A miracle conditioner in one tube. Although the initial colour of it is slightly off putting as it is a rather stronge thick red, it works abit like the wash in wash out colour treatment. Only you get twice as many treatments for half the price with this. You can leave it on for as long as you like as it doesn't do any harm to your hair. I started by leaving it on for 5 mins and just got a subtle colour enhancing, then I got slightly more adventurous and left it on for 15 mins and found that my hair had a wow factor to it. Although it wasn't as strong as having it coloured, it really did make my hair have the 'just walked out...
