Review of Ocean Avenue - Yellowcard

There's a Place Called Ocean Avenue

Advantages: Some strong tracks present on this thirteen track album.
Disadvantages: Some tracks fail to impress.

...'Ocean Avenue' is the 2004 album from the American Pop Punk band Yellowcard. Although fitting snugly into the genre of Pop Punk, the band actually incorporate a violin into their sound and this is something that makes them stand out a little from the crowd. When you listen to the music of Yellowcard it is not your standard Pop Punk affair and therefore their music is all the more interesting to listen to. The first track I ever heard from this album was 'Life of a Salesman', a track that initially put me off listening to 'Ocean Avenue' as I was not at all a fan of what I heard. With 'Life of a Salesman' there is just too much going on within the track at once and as a result it all seems a little congested as the band progress their way through this three minute piece of Pop Punk. The drums just don't seem to fit with the guitars...

Avenue Q-uite Brilliant!

Advantages: Wonderful lyrics
Disadvantages: Nothing special musically

...Over the three years of the show's run, everyone I know who has been to see "Avenue Q" has told me that I should go and see it because I would love it. Everyone from best friends to ex-girlfriends were telling me the same thing, so when I got the chance to check it out, I couldn't turn it down. It certainly says something for the show that of the people I went with, four of them had seen it before and were still willing to pay £20 to see it again. It is testament to how well people know me that I not only enjoyed the show, but also would happily pay my £20 and go again. Surprisingly, for all the hype, the basic idea is a simple one. "Avenue Q" is a snap shot into the lives of a group of 20- and 30-somethings who live on a section of a street called Avenue Q. There's A Place Off Ocean Avenue

Advantages: Catchy emo punk music
Disadvantages: No Major Niggles

.... The song starts off with an electronic entrance which is followed up by the band bursting in with a fast up paced song which showcases what the band are all about. Avenue Angling, Norwich - The BEST

Advantages: Excellent service, products, prices

...Avenue Angling is owned by John Lambert and run by both John Lambert and Martin (don't know his surname). Avenue Angling is located up Denbeigh Road in the Golden Triangle are of Norwich. If you can't visit the shop then I know that John does mail order, Call 01603 764004 It was one of my carp fishing buddoes that got me in to Avenue Angling. The way carp fishing was going had meant that carp super markets were being opened up just like Angling Direct. The personal touch was missing and it was impossible to obtain help and advice from knowledgeable anglers, instead you get served by YTS Saturday boys that don't know the difference between a boilie and a bivvy. It is good that all products are on display in that it is possible to see the size of the bivvy and what it looks like when it is set up, feel how heavy the rod is before...

Story of the Year - Page Avenue.

Advantages: Amazing album, and it is cool that theire first album already rocked.
Disadvantages: Sometimes maybe to much repeating of the lyrics, thats all.

...like how you can hear frustration, I can picture him singing it like this to his girl, and the music is really great as a back up to his vocals. However, the lyrics repeat too much, they could have gotten more out of this track. Track 8 ('Page Avenue') I find this song too freaking popstyle, great if you have a little sister, if you do it well, this can get her into rock, and build it up. Too poppy, too much stretched singing, blurred talking, this song is kind of a let down, and does not deserve to be title carrier. Track 9 ('Sidewalks') Love the singing intro, shows balls, and this track shows a really different side of his voice. This song is about leaving behind what sucks, and being able to do what you want to do, get away from the sidewalks you walk on every day again. The musical back up, I would pay anything to feel like this...

Disadvantages: Safety an issue but addressed well.

In thattime I have gone from a chatter to admin of three of the rooms at the site. The site has grown immensly in the time I have attended it and there are seperate rooms for various ages and sections of the community. In regard to the Kid's chatroom in particular, I would like parents to be aware that we as a team, the room has a large amount of moderators and myself, take the job of protecting your child very very seiously, an age limit of 16 has been set for users of the room and that rule is taken as the most important of all room rules. Alaris Avenue - don't use them!!

Disadvantages: Orders never arrive, despatch dates wrong, orders wrong, terrible service

...DOn't ever buy anything from Alaris Avenue. We ordered some pergo laminate floor strips from them. 2 weeks later we got a call to say they would arrive the following Monday which I was happy with, I took a day off work - they didn't arrive. After a call they said our order had never been despatched. Now, a month after our order and countless phone calls and promises (including three more days off work to await delivery vans) a delivery finally arrived - containing planks not strips. We received no apology, no assurances that our money will be paid back quickly and I certainly don't trust them to rectify the order. We are currently waiting for them to pick the planks up and give us our money back. Terrible service and total lack of customer care, plus no confirmation email of original order. YES I learned of the unsecurity of chat Avenue Kids site by my younger sister using the computer i notcied that there were older men in a kids chat room also being allowed to chat in the room which ranges from the age 10+ ( THAT IS SICK) i am writing this review to alert parents and chgildren about the unsecurity of that particular website.
