Massive functionallity, quite inexpensive

Advantages: Absolutely tiny (memory stick size) full DVB functionallity, desktop and laptop compatibility
Disadvantages: Really needs a 'proper' ariel

...the ubiquitous USB2 connection, it can support a sufficiently high data transfer rate to support full motion video, and is found on both laptops and desktop units. Better still, the relentless progress of miniaturisation means you can get a full specification TV tuner built into a package no larger than a standard ?memory stick? so it?s feasible to carry it about in your pocket! Are You Receiving Me?

Advantages: Crystal clear transmission
Disadvantages: If your a bit funny in maching colour techno stuff this only comes in black.

.... For weeks we did without television upstairs which was OK, but now the Grandmother is due and she likes to watch a bit of TV in bed. I decided it was time to dig out the Video Sender system, however the power supplies appear to have done a runner. I decided to invest in a new set up and had set my heart on a specific type from Argos. We visit our local car boot sale most Sundays and on the bankrupt electrical stock stall happened to notice the Avermedia Video Sender set up for a bargain price of just £20. The Video Sender comes as two boxes one sits on your main distribution point (I.e. the living room), the other goes in the room you wish to transmit signals too.   Watch Digital Terrestrial Freeview TV on your PC

Advantages: Digital TV, Good picture quality, Excellent remote, User friendly software
Disadvantages: Can't pay for some listed channels, No video editing software, Long recordings freeze the program

...I had a Digital TV card before but the software was pants so I decided to buy a new card. I decided on the AVerMedia Hybrid TV + FM card because I had previously played with someone else's card and liked the look of software. I bought it online for £58.74. INSTALLATION Turn off the PC, pull out power (for safe measure), remove back PCI face plate, slot in card and screw it securely to the case. Then just plug in the cables at the back, install the drivers and software from the CD. Very easy and I thought the software was unexpected quickly to install. It's so easy to set up I didn't need to use the printed Quick Start Guide provided. An FM radio antenna is included but not a TV antenna, so you need to buy your own if you don't have one for the card. I would have liked for one to be included so that people whom do not have a spare...

A very useful product

Advantages: Watch TV and radio, use your games consoles on your PC!
Disadvantages: Pricey, but definitely worth it

...I have had my AVerMedia AVerTV Studio 303 for just over a year now, because it came with my new PC, and only just set it up properly because I never thought I'd use it. I only wish now I had set it up sooner? This TV card plugs into the back of your PC and essentially allows your PC to function just like a free view TV, so you can watch TV and listen to radio. Also you can plug in any games consoles and use them on your monitor, which is pretty cool if you have a nice monitor and a good sound system. You can also record your TV programmes to hard disk in DVD quality - even if you're not around, using the useful timer system. The main reason I set it up though, was to consolidate my systems. I have a nice PC with a great monitor and a really good surround sound system, and a TV in another room. With my AVerMedia AVerTV Studio 303...

Advantages: Good customer support, Quick delivery, Good product range
Disadvantages: Minimum Delivery cost quite high, not the cheapest around

...where items are reduced because they have missing or damaged packaging or are returns from people who no longer wanted the items. They have a fair amount of stock and many from big brands such as Toshiba, IBM, Freecom, etc. They sometimes stock brands that other places do not, like my AVerMedia DVB TV Card, which is good. They have a good product range and they would be a god alternative retailer if you've had bad experiences with other retailers and want good customer service. CUSTOMER SERVICE On my second ever order, I chose to pay using PayPal. My money went through but four days later, I still had not received my order, any dispatch emails or any tracking codes. The site did say that one of my items requires 3 days for them to get stock because it is dispatched straight from their supplier so I waited. On the fifth working day...

Nice Card, Rubbish Software

Advantages: Digital TV, Very good picture quality, Aerial included
Disadvantages: Remote Control looks cheap, Software rubbish

...but not necessarily a DVD/HDD Recorder. You do need a fairly high spec. PC though. You can also watch stuff on your TV using a RF Out connector but I couldn't get it to work properly so can't comment further. The card itself is fine but I think the software is badly made and completely rubbish. It's the software that lets me use the card so it's very important for it to be easy to use. The channels are impossible to organise and the software windows are not that nice to look at either. The software has a few good points but I think the bad points overshadow the good. You can find a different DVB-T card at around the same price with better software so I do not recommend the JetWay card. I would recommend paying a bit more for an AVerMedia DVB-T card (which I've bought already) which has much better software. Thanks for reading...
