...Just over a year ago I decided to buy my boyfriend a car. I managed to get my hands on a black J-reg Citroen AX GT with around 78000 miles. It was a bargain at only £200. I thought the car was great to start with, however my boyfriend was almost in tears the first time he saw the car. He thought it was awful and a total waste of money. The car stood for three months collecting bird droppings on the road, until one day my man decided that he did indeed like the car. My boyfriend is now besotted with “Esmeralda”, and has started the work in modifying her. Getting her through the MOT was expensive, and new tyres cost more than the actual car. The Citroen AX GT is a very good car, if you manage to get a hold of a good example. The max speed of ours is a very respectable 100+ mph, and we are sure that there is more power under... ...~Intro~ I bought my ESP AX 260 last year. I had been playing guitar for about Three years and was looking for a better quality guitar than my previous, a Crafter Strat. I had looked online and had a reasonable idea of what I wanted, and so I went down to my local guitar shop. When I got there they had a range of ESP guitars, but not the one I originally wanted. I had originally wanted an ESP F Series guitar. The guitar that they did have, and that caught my eye, was a shiny, black, ESP AX260! I tried the guitar in shop (as I recommend you do when you buy a guitar,) encase it looked great but sounded awful. It didn't. In-fact it played like a dream and sounded wonderful. Advantages: No minimum call charge, just 2p a minute, anytime!
Disadvantages: You have to dial the number in front, and the evening rate is no different from peak rate.

...AXS Telecom provides a good service, which you have dial up from a standard phone line, and you will get billed separately through them. Just 2p anytime of day from any BT line, and other cable companies such as Eurobell. But the brilliant thing about AXS is that you don’t pay a minimum call charge, so you can make a phone call or Internet call (to anything apart from 0845 and 0870) for as little as a penny! (Great saving, if you just want to pick up e-mail or make a very quick call!) I have tried it on both my BT line and Eurobell line, the service is especially good on BT line, and on Eurobell it is still very good, but you have to dial more numbers in front. When registered, you dial 1615 on BT line and a 0800 number on any other line, which isn’t BT. When the number as been dialled, you will hear it go silent... Read review

The AX 500 makes a high fidelity sound way above its considerable cost when released by yamaha..and puts all of its contemporaries in the shade. Its an imposing box, though like all of the natural sound range pulls that off with elegance. The sleek lines are very dark hi-fi and blends in nicely anywhere.Its hansome, heavyweight and shakes the foundations. How yamaha achieve such cleaness of sound,musicality and such fabulous signal to noise ratio is said to be down to the sheer precision of thier manufacturing. Their products are incredibly long lived delivering all of the original performance. They achieve this with hi-fi, much of which is now getting on over 60 years old and has cult collectable status... ...Like many other people I try to keep our household bills down so I try to keep track of new suppliers of services and price changes. Recently I have discovered a company called AXS. They offer good priced phone calls. The day time rates for land to land phones are 2p a minute for local or national calls compared with 2.4p a minute for local and 3.2p a minute for BT that is based on BTs Together rates and the Best Friend discount. It not a Best Friend and only Friends and Family it goes up to 2.7p and 3.6p. The added bonus with AXS is that there is no monthly charge or minimum call charge. You keep your BT line and obviously pay your line rental to them so if you use AXS all you pay for is your phone call. Their evening rates and weekend rates are also 2p a minute local or national so if you have BTs standard rates AXS... Read review

...I recently purchased my first car. I took a long time choosing the make and model as my price range was limited (£800 max) and I knew people who had been given a rough deal in the past. Finally i stumbled accross a little gem in autotrader. An F reg AX 1.4 TZS, sporting electric windows, sunroof, central locking and a CD player. All for £800 on the nose. I was cautious at first as I am naturally suspicious of a suposidely good deal. However to my delight the car was imaculate. Since then i have driven nearly 1000 miles in the car. No problems at all. The 1.4 litre engine is phenominaly quick for such a small car. It beats literally anything with ease - one notable victory at the lights wasagainst a BMW 316 driven by a fellow young driver. ...Hi, I bought a Citroen AX Echo 1.1 a few years ago just before car prices went down and it cost me a whopping £4000 for an M reg which at the time was about 4 years old. The fuel economy on this little machine was phenomenal, I was getting around 60 - 70 mpg even on the motorway. As you can tell just by looking at one of these they have a very individual identity. I desperatly wanted to modify my car and bought this because it is a 'hot hatch' and thought it would be easy however there is only a hand full of people who do modifications for the AX, and I bought the 5 door rather than the 3 door. These cars are very fun to drive the handling on them is up to scratch and the performance is'nt to bad even for a 1.1. In the 3 years that I owned my AX I never had any mechanical problems the only things that I changed were things like the tyres... Read review

...I have been using AXS Telecom for about three or four months now and I am very pleased with the amount of money I have saved. The best thing for me personally is that I can register my one2one mobile with them so that I can make calls from my mobile at landline rates. What other company offers long distance UK calls from your mobile at only 2p a minute? You can even call internationally for very low rates. Whilst I'm not very happy with AXS customer service, I am more than pleased with their prices. Highly recommended.... Read review

Advantages: Great MPG (60), sound engine.
Disadvantages: erm...Very little street cred.

...Having had my trusty little AX diesel for just short of 6 years now, I find it a marvel that it is still running. I purchased it when it was 12 months old, and had 12,000 miles on the clock. Since that time, I have put 101,000 on. This saturday was the first time I have ever had to spend more that the odd few quid on it. I had a new timing belt, a CV boot on the near side, but unfortunatly, I had to have a new drive shaft on the off side. Total Bill, £351. A lot of money in one go, but looking at the milage, I find it a very small price to pay. Considering the amount of milage that I have put on it in such a short time, I am amazed at how well it is standing up to the punishment. The engine still runs like a dream, the body work is remarkable sound for it's age. Having had real trouble with my previous car (Fiesta) at only 50... Read review

Advantages: Ecomomy , superb performance , handling , lightweight , small , very cheap

...First of all i would like to say that these are one of the best cars out there , both for economy and performance depending upon the model purchased. I own two ax's , one is a 1.1 salsa model and the other is a 1.4 gt (carb), both models are on a g plate (1990) , the economy and drive of the one litre is fantastic , low tax , low insurance , excellent return on fuel , with the only two downsides being , long journeys are a bit of a longshot , due to its small engine capacity will struggle with the distance and constant high speeds will generate quite a bit of heat. The GT model is honestly one of the better hot hatchbacks available , it offers once again excellent fuel economy and the twin choke carb 1400 cc engine offers superb performance for its capacity due to its lightweight chassis.
