My personal opinion of Axis and Allies

Advantages: Very well balanced rules
Disadvantages: Time factor for games

...Axis and Allies is a very time consuming game. Be sure to allow upwards of 4 hours for a complete game, longer if playing as teams, and I have played in games which have lasted up to 18 hours. Set in the Second World War it pits two teams against each other with the Axis of Germany and Japan against the Allies of the USA,Russia and Great Britain. It is a game for adults or older children with 13 to 14 years of age being a minimum due to the length of time spent in playing and the relative complexity of the rules when compared to games such as Monopoly etc. Note that the rating of average complexity to set up is for games of this type. If compared to a game like Monopoly it is a lot more involved in the setup stage. Having said that I still recommend this game to anyone interested in strategy. It has a luck element but this...

The second world war how would you play it?

Advantages: Control wave of attacks,gripping and enthrawling detail,exciting videos,what a game,not bad for a fiver!!
Disadvantages: Too easy, world domination is impossible to achive,and planes run out of fuel hehe!

Numark Axis 9 The best value cd deck for rookies and bedroom Djs

Advantages: Consistent, All main effects (scratch + key lock that WORKS)
Disadvantages: No built in memory

...I dj 2-3 times a week and often take my equipment in and out of venues so I need equipment that is durable and reliable. Ive had a pair of axis 9's for a few years now. They have turned out to be quite reliable and consistent where more expensive models weren't .. very important if you dj'ing at a gig. If you are a laptop Dj the Axis 9's works fine with all the major software, VDJ, Rockit, Traktor etc. There are some new features on the axis 9's along with all the standard feature on the axis series. Pitch-lock (called key-lock on numarks) is one of the most useful features I use and in my opinion axis 9's do this much better than others in a similar price range like 1200DZ or CDJ 200. They have very decent effects that are really easy to use, most notably, the scratch function which is a direct improvement from previous models like...

Another Bargin!

Advantages: Clear, easy to follow rules with interesting film clips
Disadvantages: Once you've got used to the game it can quickly get boring

...I bought Axis and Allies from a bargin bucket and have been addicted ever since! The game gives you the choice of controlling any of the five major powers in world war two (UK, US, Russia, Japan and Germany) - or all of them! The game play follows the board game and there are various patches that can be downloaded via the net to add interest. The main disadvantage with the game is once you have become used to the tactics of the pre-programmed enemy (eg - you're the axis powers and the computer is the allies) the tactics become easy to prevent. The patches mentioned earlier help give a new focus to prevent boredom at this stage but advanced tactics by the programmer would have been more challenging....

TOTAL WAR STRETCHES THE MIND

Advantages: the pure playability of this game is one of its good points, the ability to pull of the most amazing stunts
Disadvantages: When you send loads of troops in to get slaugtered by sub-stadered troops is the MOST humiliating thing that can happen to you

Excellent For Strategy Beginners

Advantages: A Faithful rendition of the popular board game
Disadvantages: Poor A.I.

...Today, there are literally scores of real-time strategy games ( RTS ) to chose from. The graphics and sound are now entering new realms of believability and realism and can be extremely frenetic to actually play. In my honest opinion, I often find these to be simply TOO frantic to be worthwhile. The endless 'clickfest' which often ensues is not really strategy or tactics as such, but just an exercise in speed of mouse, hand eye co-ordination and maybe having played that particular mission 50 times before so gaining an intimate knowledge of the game map. AXIS and ALLIES on the other hand belongs to that much-maligned genre, the turn based strategy, and I'd like to point out that I think this is where REAL strategy exists. It is a simple global scale depiction of the events of World War 2, involving the AXIS forces - Germany...

The world at war

Advantages: Amount of playable pieces, Controlling very powerful armies the way you want to
Disadvantages: Cost, Can be hard to know wheather you are playing it correctly

...The year is 1942 in the middle of world war 2. Five armies are looking for control the Axis (Germany and Japan) and the Allies (UK, America and Russia) only one can control the world so you can change the result of world war 2. This game is the ultimate in strategy as between 2-5 people can take part either taking control of just one army or the whole of the Allies or Axis. With over 200 pieces included with the game you can tell the action will be frantic (and it is). You take it in turns to place new pieces on the board, move your pieces and attack the enemy. Sounds simple? Well it is not with lots of different ways to attack and move you are spoilt for choice. Each of the countries start with different amounts of money which can be altered as you take over countries belonging to your opponants. Let your allies watch your back...

Allied Pickford the movers from Hell

Advantages: They really like to take your money and then not deliver
Disadvantages: Unprofessional, overpriced, late and don't take your thoughts into consideration

...We used Allied Pickford to move from NZ to Canada. This is our 3rd international move, and we had never considered using Allied Pickfords in the past. 1st of all our sea container mysteriously ended up in Singapore. It showed up over 4 weeks late. We were told our sea can would be taken from our residence in NZ and delived to our residence in Canada. The office in Vancouver decided for us that they weren't going to honour that. Half way through the move, they decided to unload or belongings in Vancouver and reshuffle them into a moving van. Which just exposes our furniture to more scratches and nicks. We found the person handling our move in both NZ and Vancovuer to be very inconsiderate and basically lied to us. We would recommend anyone other than Allied Pickford. They are very unprofessional....

Amazing Ally and her Girlfriend!!

Advantages: educational, nice friend for little girl
Disadvantages: she goes on and on and on.....

...I've seen Amazing Ally advertised a lot, but her RRP is £70. I think this is extortionate for a doll so was pleased to find her for just £25 on one of Tv's selling channels. Since I bought her, I've found her in several toyshops for £24.99. Amazing Ally is an inter-active doll, designed to be the childs best friend. You have to program in your childs birthday, favourite colour, animal, holiday as well as the current time and date. This information is stored in the doll unless you switch her off or her batteries run out. She'll count down to your childs birthday, telling them they must be very excited from about three months before the date. When Ally's batteries are running down, she'll ask you to change them and specify which ones have run out. She takes 3 AA batteries and 3 AAA batteries. They do last a long time though...
