Changing baby time!

Advantages: large, easy to store
Disadvantages: not very padded

...Okay so here's another product I didn't realise you could write more than a few words on before I had Baby B! To look at a changing mat it looks quite simple really, nothing to it, but there are many subtle differences between the ones out there believe me! We originally bought this one as it looked to be very substantial as it was slightly larger than the others and it was plastic coated so easy to wipe down. The design is gingham checks too so it was fairly neutral to go with our neutral coloured nursery. This mat is typical of a changing mat as it's covered in a plastic covering which makes it very hygienic as it's easy to just wipe clean with an anti-bacterial wipe afterwards. It's also really useful as it's waterproof so when accidents happen-which lets face it is very frequently during a change- it doesn't soak into...

Deluxe changing for baby!

Advantages: Lovely design. Comfy.
Disadvantages: A faff to clean.

...The 'Roundabout' nursery décor range at Mama's & Papa's is a funky, modern range, available in pink (with the main characters being 2 bunnies) for girls, & blue (with the main characters being 2 dogs) for boys. After finding out 'bump' was blue, I opted for the latter....! Since I love contemporary, minimalist style the nursery had to be the same way, but whilst still looking like a baby's room. This range fitted the bill perfectly, although it took a few weeks of shopping around to reach the conclusion that the extortionate M&P prices were worth it.... The changing mat is one of the 'deluxe' range as M&P term it. They do sell standard changing mats at reasonable prices, but the deluxe range tends to co-ordinate with one of the many décor ranges & come with additional features. A Baby Bag with high expectations

Advantages: It is waterproof, hard wearing, durable and stylish

IKEA Changing Unit

Advantages: Lots of space for changing baby, very well built, will last for ages
Disadvantages: heavy when assembling

...On one of my many trips to IKEA during my pregnancy I came across this changing unit and could not believe how cheap it was compared to other units I had seen elsewhere. I had read a lot about what makes a good changing unit and having looked at severa I realised one fatal flaw in them all - that the unit was only big enough to put your baby on which meant you had to purchase a seperate table to put by the side to house all of the equipment needed for changing, washing etc. Those that did have the extra space were extremely expensive. ...This is the Rolls Royce of changing bags - stylish, built to last, very expensive, but when only the best will do... I treated myself to this after winning some vouchers in a competition - at nearly #60 it wasn't the kind of thing I would have chosen under normal circumstances. In fact, it's hard to see how it justifies this kind of price tag from anyone who's got to pay for it themselves, but it is extremely well designed and made. ...When I was pregnant I spent a long time looking at baby changing stations, but the ones in my price range all seemed too 'plasticky' whilst the wooden ones like from Mamas and Papas were way too expensive at over £200+. On a leisurely trip to Ikea one day, we found this baby changing unit! Reduced from only £89.99 to about £50 or £60 (Sorry, forgot price) it seemed a bargain. It was obviously flat packed, so you have to bear this in mind if you have a small car, we have a 5dr Vauxhall Corsa and it just fitted. WHen we got it home the instructions were clear and it only took hubby a matter of hours to put together. It has a fold down top where you change your baby, and underneath that it has a place to put all your changing lotions and potions. We bought two plastic containers with lids from Ikea that fit perfectly to the sides...

A Change Not Quite as Good as the Rest

...The Sugababes are one of those groups that I've always had a quiet enjoyment of, but never enough to really become a fan. After all, a little like the Beatles and the Rolling Stones back in the 1960s, it seems you could either be a fan of the Sugababes or Girls Aloud but not both and my colours have been firmly pinned to the Girls Aloud mast for some time. Except in the case of the recent version of "Walk This Way" they combined to do for Comic Relief, at which point I wanted to kill them all.
