Tommee Tippee food pots
Advantages: durable, easy to use
Disadvantages: none
...Tommee Tippee food pots are brilliant for home made baby food.
They come in three different colours and are made of a strong plastic with sturdy tight lids.
They come in blue, pink and purple.
I bought 3 lots, 1 in each colour and use them for freezing pureed food. I make up a batch and then fill the pots and freeze them.
The pots are great for travelling as the lids are so tight and you can also feed the baby directly from the pot if you want to.
They are microwave and dishwasher proof.
WHAT DO THEY COST?
I bought mine from Asda and they cost £2.48 for 4.
WOULD I RECOMMEND THEM?
Yes I would. They are great while baby is on pureed food. They are small enough to carry around yet big enough to hold a meal.
They can still be used as baby gets bigger, to hold fruit snacks.
They are also small enough to fit...

An organic natural baby food
Advantages: Plastic packaging, Organic
Disadvantages: Not enough in the packet
...Whilst I was shopping the other day I was in the baby aisle and noticed this baby food. I have never seen these before although I have seen the brand name before on older childrens food items such as smoothies. I decided to pick a couple of these up to try.
The one that I have used is the carrots, apples and parsnips flavour. Ella's kitchen states that this is organic baby food and only has these 3 food items in it.
The packaging is different to most baby food brands and is simple yet eye catching. It is in a bright orange coloured plastic pouch and has the flavour of the food wrote in brown lettering. It has a screw top which is replacable when you have squoze out the right amount.
On the back of the packet it says:
Inside me you'll find:
*no added sugar, salt or water
*no additives or thickeners
*no E numbers or GM...

Perfect containers for baby food (Happy Mummy Baby Cubes)
Advantages: Can never loose the lids, nice size to carry with you when out & about
Disadvantages: None
...My little girl is now at that age where I am starting to introduce her to food, I have been given a brilliant book which gives me a step by step on how to do this & it gives me loads of recipes but they all make about six portions of food and I had nothing to put the extra in so I started searching the net for some containers.
First port of call was eBay to see if they had anything reasonably cheap on there but no luck, there where loads of pots but by the time I added postage they worked out expensive so I next looked on Amazon and in the baby section they had a category for weaning equipment so I took a look.
I came across some Happy Mummy Baby Cubes (Stage 1) and thought these looked ideal but after reading the reviews which said they only last a couple of week because you cant get much food in them I took a look at the stage 2 set...

Heinz baby food
Advantages: Quick and easy if out and about
Disadvantages: Very runny, not as thick as some babies like
...Heinz baby food has been around for a long time. I have used many makes of baby food but have found that althoughs Heinz give a great choice in baby food and a wide variety.
The variety of food that you get are glass jars, tins, packets of dried food and also recently added are like little tubs with platic lids which you could keep and re use. They also have an organic range which comes under heinz but the normal unorganic packets are under the name of Farley's like the milk.
The variety's you can get from 4 months, are breakfast, like porridge or apricot and strawberry breakfast which are dried packets which you then add your babies usual milk too. For a savoury meal you can have, garden vegetables with chicken or a vegetarian choice can be carrots with parsnips. For a pudding you can have fruits like apple or apple...

Yummy, Yummy, baby food
Advantages: Making your own baby food
Disadvantages: it's a messy time
...Here is an issue that everyone will have their own opinion on and can cause arguments that are hours long, so, first of all i want to go on record and say this is my own personal view on baby food.
MY OPINION
Now that's cleared up, here's what I think. I make my babies food up myself as I think it's healthier, I know the exact ingredients my baby is eating and it only takes about 15 minutes to make as opposed to giving my baby a jar of food that has a 2 year shelf life and is found on the shelves in supermarkets not the fridge.
I also use organic fruit and vegetables as I don't like to think of all the nasty stuff that would otherwise be going inside my babies body.
I freeze baby food in Annabel Karmels ice-cube trays, which are a bit bigger than normal ice cube trays and when my baby is hungry i pop out 2 of the cubes...

Fantastic fast food for babies
Advantages: Convenient, good nutritionally, organic
Disadvantages: Not cheap
...We found these when we were looking for organic fruit and vegetable purees to help wean our son. We are now the best part of a year on and we still use them every week.
These mixed fruit and veg purees come in a range of flavours which are incredibly unappealing to an adult palate (put it this way, the least awful is carrot, apple and parsnip) but seem to be loved by all the babies I know who have tried them. They are approx 75p-79p each, for a 120g pouch.
Our son adores these purees and eats them as a snack between his main meals, an occasional pudding or part of his meal when we're out or as a "sauce" to make more challenging foods more palatable. Putting this puree on any food is pretty much a guarantee it'll be eaten. It's a great emergency meal when he's ill and won't eat anything else, with the option of having baby rice...

I need food!
Advantages: Healthy eating, healthy happy child.
Disadvantages: Messy?
...Weaning is a very exciting milestone for parents and babies, but some parents find this time to be a little daunting too.
Weaning is a gradual process that requires time and patience. The weaning experience is different with every child. It is always a good time to start when you and your baby are in good health, and are feeling relaxed. It is also best to delay the weaning process if your baby is adapting to anything else such as teething.
Health experts recommend that you wait until your baby has reached 6 months of age, to prevent your baby from getting allergies, and because a baby's digestive system is not ready until this age. However some parents wean their babies before this age.
I think as a parent you know when your baby is ready for food; some babies need extra nourishment when milk alone does not satisfy them so...

Fast food for babies
Advantages: easy and healthy
Disadvantages: really colourful nappies
...'t ask me why, I don't profess to understand).
As a final note, the ultimate fast food for baby has to be the banana - it comes in its own packaging, making it easy to carry around. You can mash it up on a plate with a fork, it doesn't need cooking and the texture is very baby friendly. Sweet enough to please without being unhealthy, easy to get and store, easy to eat, the banana rules. Who needs expensive pots when you can have a banana?...

Super food for super babies
Advantages: organic, nothing added, fair trade, tasty, superfood
Disadvantages: none
...I recently discovered plum baby foods on a trip to our newly refurbished Sainsbury's. Whilst checking out the baby food section, I spotted a rather cool looking selection of boxes with cheeky looking babies smiling at me. After reading that there were no additives, preservatives, sugar, salt or anything else, and that they were organic, I decided to pop one in my trolley and test it out when i got home.
What is plum baby?
Plum baby has been set up by a mother of three, and they produce organic, superfoods for babies. Believing that superfoods are the best things for babies to eat, they have developed a range of handy pots which are aimed at being available for trips out, rather than a replacement for good old fashioned home made slush!
Whats are they?
Inside each box are two 100g tubs, they are airtight and don't need...

INFORMATION ON BOTH HOME AND READYMADE BABY FOODS
Advantages: Homemade is best but readymade can be convienient
Disadvantages: Parents can feel under pressure
...to take my baby daughter out for the day and will have no access to refridgeration and this is Organix Fruit Purees.
Organic baby foods now make up 40% of the baby food market and sales are rapidly increasing. The Organix brand claim to make pure, healthy, nutritious foods - their mission statement being 'to make the world's finest baby and children's food sold where ever food is sold', a pretty lofty aim!
I'm not a great fan of their jarred savoury foods, as my daughter is not too keen on them and I have previously read about toxins being present in the lids of some makes of jarred foods, but the Organix Fruit Purees Apple & Peach, priced at £1.59, is excellent and a bit different. It is sold in a group of 4 x 100g white, plain, yoghurt style pots, wrapped together in colourful cardboard packaging covered in information and advice...
