...These straightenners are excellent i would recommend them to anyone as you can change the temperature to suit your hair i.e; Thick or thin. I have Really Thick Frizzy Hair and any other straightners would straighten my hair , i would go out side and Boom!! ...I had some really old (about 7 years) iron and I really needed a new one (the old one, also babyliss was huge, the temperature was too low to straighten my hair perfectly, and it took about 30 minutes to heat up!). So I was checking all available models, that can be bought here in Estonia, read reviews and so on. At last I picked 2 models that I liked : first - GaMa (professional iron, that heats up with 3 seconds), and the second - Babyliss pro 230. I decided that I don't want to pay 2 times more for about 20 seconds difference in heating up between these 2 models, so I bought Babyliss. ...I am writing a review on the Hair Straightners Babyliss Pro 230. I have really curly hair and have been holding out for such a long time to see if the GHD straightners will go down in price, cause i am not paying £100. But one day i was walking around Gorgons pharmacy when i seen their selection of hair straighners - my friend told me that the 230 ones were really good, and just as good as GHD's - she spend almost 20 mins trying to convince me, so i gave in and purchased them for £40,they were down in price from £80 even though i still didnt believe her. ...I recently purchased the Babyliss Pro 230 Total Freedom, which is the same as the usual product but also has a cordless adaptor for ease of use and flexibility whilst rushing around getting ready for the day. I am now addicted. This hair straightener is the best I have ever bought, and it gets blimming hot! However there is a temperature control so you can adjust it to suit the finish you require and also your type of hair so that fine hair does not get damaged. The straighteners retail at £50 I believe but I managed to get them in a sale for £35, and they really are a great substitute for the infamous GHDs if you are on a budget. The cordless adaptor is quite good, although the idea is you charge the straighteners, then use them until they cool down, then reheat them again- can be quite a tiresome process if you have very long... ...Okay I'd just like to say I don't actually own this product but I'm going to soon. This is not a review as such but rather information about Babyliss 230 Straighteners and the cordless variety. I asked Babyliss some questions by email as I was unsure of the differences between the 2 models and some other general questions about both. The models are: - BaByliss 2085U Pro 230°C Straighteners (£35 amazon) (also available in pink) - BaByliss 2099U Total Freedom 230 Cordless Straightener (£30 amazon) (clip-on cord included also) The cord (3m) on both is a swivel cord, I think some straighteners had a problem with no-swivel cords breaking, and also I'm sure they are easier to use. I thought I would share this info to save others from bothering/bothering Babyliss - they were very nice in their answers, and there were a lot of questions... Read review

...I was a bit unsure when purchasing these hair straightners as with them been portable they only last for 4 minutes between topping up the temperature (by placing back into the stand) but surprisingly they are a great pair of straightners! One huge benefit of them is they can be cordless or you can attatch them to the cord if you like so they really do give you total freedom as the name would suggest. The top temperature is 230 which is great for most people but they also have 4 other temperature settings starting from as low as 150 degrees so great if you don't fancy frying your hair. I think considering the price they are an excellent pair of straightners. The only people I would suggest not buying these straightners to would be those with short hair as the plates are quite wide and would not be suitable for styling short lengths... Read review

...These ceramic straighteners are the best straighteners I've ever had (and my last ones were ghds at nearly triple the price at around £100!!). They really are excellent value for money at around £40 or less. They heat up very fast (in just under 30 seconds) and they can be set to any temperature from 180 up to 230, I usually set them to 200 and they work brilliantly. I have very long, thick and wavy hair and these make my hair poker straight within minutes. You can also curl your hair very easily with these straightners. They're small and light and very easy to use (the plates are around an inch wide and 3-4 inches long). They come with 4 free dividing clips and a 5 year guarantee which really is an advantage when it comes to hair straighteners!
