Review of babyliss pro 230, hair straightener by
Lea07x
Advantages: Great heat temperature and you get freebies with the box =D
Disadvantages: None
...These straightenners are excellent i would recommend them to anyone as you can change the temperature to suit your hair i.e; Thick or thin.
I have Really Thick Frizzy Hair and any other straightners would straighten my hair , i would go out side and Boom!! My hair Would frizz up again, i was considering gettin the nicky clarke kinder4hair straightners but unfortunaly they were sold out so i got the babyliss pro 230 straightners. i think it must have been a sign because now my hair is straight even when i go outside Woo!
the babyliss' top temperature is 230C which gives your hair an instant shine with out any hair products.
They only take 30 seconds to heat up which is excellent if your in a rush for Work,School,A Date ,etc

-Who are Babyliss?
Babyliss is a unisex grooming company that has groomed the UK for over 40 years. Babyliss was established in 1960 originally in Paris; and enjoyed the 'swinging sixties' immensely. The growth originally was slow but quickened up as the 'new sexual revolution' took hold of Western culture. During this time, vanity was in the air and so was new hair design concepts; big style influences were used in mass media for the first time 'vanity products went through the roof' a perfect climate for a major brand to step forward, and so it was Babyliss who was the brand people flocked to especially in Paris; before the company went global...

Excellent iron!
Review of babyliss pro 230, hair straightener by
inspire84
Advantages: Heats up fast, works great, cheap price!
Disadvantages: on/off button is in really wrong place
...I had some really old (about 7 years) iron and I really needed a new one (the old one, also babyliss was huge, the temperature was too low to straighten my hair perfectly, and it took about 30 minutes to heat up!). So I was checking all available models, that can be bought here in Estonia, read reviews and so on. At last I picked 2 models that I liked : first - GaMa (professional iron, that heats up with 3 seconds), and the second - Babyliss pro 230. I decided that I don't want to pay 2 times more for about 20 seconds difference in heating up between these 2 models, so I bought Babyliss. Unfortunately it is sold here without 4 free clips, but I really don't care, as this iron is so great! I just need to use it once on each lock and it is perfect! It doesn't go frizzy, when I go out to the street and that is all that I need. It also...

Bargain
Review of babyliss pro 230, hair straightener by
Emma-B
Advantages: Cheap and very good at their job
Disadvantages: slight heat damage to hair
...I recently bought these hair straighteners at half price (£24.49) and consider it a bargain.
The straighteners are extremely hot and even though I have ridiculously thick hair my hair straightens in one stroke.
The only issue I have now is that my hair is becoming slightly damaged but I'm sure that it is nothing I can't prevent with a bit of heat protect spray.
The straighteners are very easy to use although the heat proof material on them does still get too hot to hold but as it is still cool enough to touch there is no danger.
The heat proof mat provided with the straighteners is a godsend - no more singed surfaces! It also rolls up to form a convenient carry pack preventing your straighteners from damage and meaning you can pack them even when they are still hot....

NEWBIE, CONVERTED
Review of babyliss pro 230, hair straightener by
deviloxo
Advantages: Straight and shiny hair, quick, easy to use.
Disadvantages: On/Off button.
...I had been a bit sceptical regarding hair straighteners, as to me I just assumed they did the same job as the good old hairdryer and brush, so why waste the money?
I was eventually persuaded to purchase some by my sister who swore by them, but I was a bit worried as I have fine hair, and what bit I have I did not want to sizzle.
I chose the babyliss pro 230 as at the time they were on offer. I paid £40 which had been reduced from £60.
As a newbie they were very easy to use. Plug them in, there is a small dial with the option of 10 settings to suit your own hair type, pick your setting then press the on button or vice versa switch on, pick your setting. They heat up very quickly as advertised and they are ready to use within 30 seconds. They come supplied with four hair grips to section you hair and a heatproof mat to place...

Pure Elegance
Review of babyliss pro 230, hair straightener by
lesleyanne18
Advantages: Made me straight - excellent
Disadvantages: May burn hands - be careful
...I am writing a review on the Hair Straightners Babyliss Pro 230.
I have really curly hair and have been holding out for such a long time to see if the GHD straightners will go down in price, cause i am not paying £100.
But one day i was walking around Gorgons pharmacy when i seen their selection of hair straighners - my friend told me that the 230 ones were really good, and just as good as GHD's - she spend almost 20 mins trying to convince me, so i gave in and purchased them for £40,they were down in price from £80 even though i still didnt believe her.
Anyway, i bought them and headed home, and thought i would give them a go, and i sat slicing my hair with the clips that came with the straightneres, and started straightening - and i cudnt believe it- My hair was poker Straight, i was straightening with no mirror so i just hoped...

Good buy for a budget!
Review of Babyliss 2161AU Solid Ceramic PRO by
Frenchyanj
Advantages: poker straight hair, fast warm up, detachable comb, 4 hair clips, long cable
Disadvantages: wierd smell, wide plates
...A really good buy for about 30 pounds. It comes with 4 hair clips to use to partion your hair which is really handy if you want that professional look. Straighteners glides through hair really easily and detachable comb allows the hair to be straightened without combing the hair first, as it goes through knots and tangles as well - a real plus if u have long hair. The extra long cable is good too so you can be mobile. Warm up only takes just a few minutes - with maximum temperature of 200 degrees. This is good as with any higher temperatures hair tends to burn and the quality of your hair rapidly deteriorates.
However there was a wierd smell when i first used it but it disappeared after a few uses. Plates are wide enough to do lots of hair at once - which is good if you are in a rush - but if you are looking to curl your hair...

poker straight hair at a reasonable price!
Review of babyliss pro 230, hair straightener by
heathertastic77
Advantages: delivers poker straight hair
Disadvantages: takes too long to cool down-slightly hazardous?!
...I recently purchased the Babyliss Pro 230 Total Freedom, which is the same as the usual product but also has a cordless adaptor for ease of use and flexibility whilst rushing around getting ready for the day.
I am now addicted.
This hair straightener is the best I have ever bought, and it gets blimming hot! However there is a temperature control so you can adjust it to suit the finish you require and also your type of hair so that fine hair does not get damaged.
The straighteners retail at £50 I believe but I managed to get them in a sale for £35, and they really are a great substitute for the infamous GHDs if you are on a budget.
The cordless adaptor is quite good, although the idea is you charge the straighteners, then use them until they cool down, then reheat them again- can be quite a tiresome process if you have very long...

Therma Glass??? What Next!
Review of Babyliss 2161AU Solid Ceramic PRO by
claremash
Advantages: Easy to use, heat very quickly
Disadvantages: Give you split ends, the protector strips wear off
...As I couldnt afford expensive GHD straighteners I opted for the next best on the market: Therma Glass.
They heated up well and had different heat settings depending on what type of hair you had and what you wanted out of them. They can be used on wet hair at lower heats to dry and straighten hair in one go, but be warned!! If you have dry, damaged or out of control hair THIS IS NOT A GOOD IDEA! I looked like a gone wrong lion when I used them on my damp hair so its not really advisable!
The do straighten hair well but it tends to take a few tries to get it this way. On the edges of the glass are soft velvety strips for gripping hair and protection but they do wear away very quickly especially if used on damp hair.
They come with a stand for heating up and cooling down but the suction cups underneath it don't stick very well which can...
