...Branston Baked Beans...................
I am very partial to baked beans on toast (covered in cheese) or indeed I have been known to eat them cold straight from the can either way I have always bought Heinz as they are literally the ultimate baked bean. However as Branston Baked Beans have been on special offer in Tesco's recently (buy 4 for £1) I snapped them up and was pleasantly surprised.
The Branston Baked Bean tin design is a lot different from that of the Heinz tin. Of course it still has a picture of some beans on the front but instead of the Heinz green label Branston's is silver and looks just as good as its rival.
The beans inside the tin look pretty much the same as Heinz with the thick red/orange sauce and the tin full to the top with beans and juice. The smell again is practically the same only Branston...

Baked Beans!
Advantages: Tasty
Disadvantages: Price could be slightly lowered, They make you fart!
...Heinz have made many products over the years like ketchup. But today, I'm going to be rating Heinz Baked Beans!
THE PRODUCT
I enjoy eating Heinz Baked Beans because they taste yummy! You just pour the product out into a saucepan and put it on the hob and wait until it's ready. Then you eat the lot! You can have baked beans on your toast or on their own. In my opinion, it's best to have them with toast. From my point of view, they taste very nice!
TASTE
The baked beans taste soft but not chewy. The baked beans are in tomato sauce and I like them just like that!
VALUE FOR MONEY
I buy a tin for about 69p. In my opinion, this is great value but could be slightly lowered.
OVERALL
They taste nice and are easy to put in the saucepan and put it on the hob. I think Heinz have gone one more step up the ladder! But, baked...

Baked beans for home made chilli con carne
Advantages: tasty, cheap, easy to open
Disadvantages: none
...If you read some of my reviews you know that I like cooking and baking. A few days ago I cooked Chilli con Carne. I know that there are ready made cans of it but I wanted to do my own version. I went to Sainsbury?s to buy beans and meat. I hesitated between Sainsbury?s own brand and Heinz beans but finally choose Sainsbury?s.
Price
-------
I bought two different Sainsbury?s Baked Beans in Tomato Sauce a normal one and a reduced sugar one. Both of them contain 420 g of beans in sauce and cost 0.48 pounds. The reduced sugar one has thinner sauce and is less sweet but it is difficult to realise the difference. The Heinz beans can contains 315 g of beans in sauce and costs 0.55 pounds.
Package
-----------
The beans come in a steel can which has a ring-pull on the top. The label on the can is red and in a dark blue square it is written...

Baked Beans anyone?
Advantages: Great as a snack or as part of a main meal.
Disadvantages: Can give you gas!
...I purchased my Heinz baked beans from my local Co-operative for 69p but these can be purchased cheaper either as part of a multipack or as a single can from any major supermarket.
The can size is standard and contains 415g of baked beans in tomato sauce.
This product is from Heinz who has been established since 1869.
Baked beans are a nice meal as beans on toast, as to accompany a main meal instead of vegetables.
I personally prefer to have mine with white toasted bread and I let the bread cool a little before I butter it to ensure that the toast doesn't go soggy.
The can has a ring pull so you don't have to worry about using a can opener.
These can be cooked on the hob in a saucepan or in the microwave for about 3 minutes.
I personally prefer to cook mine in the microwave and I cover the bowl with a plate to avoid...

great baked beans
Advantages: great taste and cheap
Disadvantages: none to me
...If you have read any of my previous reviews you will know I love a bargain and love trying to reduce my monthly grocery shopping budget, hence my review now for asda smart price baked beans.
The beans themselves come in a tin with the basic green and white labeling as with all the asda basic range which is a little different from the picture shown above.
On opening the can you will see that the beans are quite good quality and have a good amount of them too, the sauce is fairly thick, as for me I find some cheaper brands have really watery sauce which is like eating soup but I was pleasantly surprised with these and I found them to be very enjoyable.
The cost of these are only 29p for a 420g tin so I found them to be a real bargain and when you see what it costs for the better brand of baked beans it really is a very good...

Baked Beans - A smartprice, not such a smart taste though!
Advantages: Not bad for 29p, saves you a little money, some people wont notice the difference!
Disadvantages: A little bland, some hard beans, no ring pull on the can.
...with one bean that tasted a little hard and overcooked!
Overall the taste is not as good as Heinz but isn't inedible either, the sauce is a little watery and at times a little tasteless.
You can buy four cans of these for about £1 which is a saving of a good £1 on the price of 4 cans of Heinz baked beans (of the same size), so this is a great cost saving.
A tin of beans counts as 1 of your 5 a day so that is great for getting your kids/family to keep up their intake.
I would recommend this product, particularly for younger children whose tastes won't have really developed yet.
You can also throw these in to a shepherds pie or similar dish to give it a bit of extra taste and I doubt anybody would realise that they weren't Heinz once you were disguised by mince and mash!...

ASDA Smart Price Baked Beans
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Beans, beans are good for your heart, the more you eat them the more you.......
At home I always used to have Heinz baked beans and loved them but being the poor student that I am now I soon realised that I cant afford them anymore! As I looked at all the different types of baked beans in ASDA I saw their smart price baked beans for just 9p for a 420g tin, which is incredibly cheap when you think that you can spend up to 47p for a tin of baked beans!
I was utterly convinced that the beans would taste foul and that I would be able to bear eating them. So I put off trying them until last night when I realised that I had used up all my more expensive tins of baked beans and had no choice but to use the smart price ones!
I...

BEANS, BEANS, FULL OF BEANS!
Advantages: Cheap and good quality
Disadvantages: No ring pull can lid, sauce runny
...Review of Sainsbury's Economy Baked Beans.
As regular readers of my reviews may have gathered, I am living on a very modest budget, credit crunch, early retirement and other factors mean that I do have to watch my pennies, hence my recent purchase of these baked beans!
The Product
Baked Beans in tomato sauce are a popular dish in many households. We don't actually eat them as an accompaniment to meals, but as a source of protein in recipes. Being a vegetarian, I tend to obtain most of my protein intake from beans, pulses or legumes and the humble baked beans is a quick and easy way to add texture, interest and substance to a vegetarian meal. Not only are they full of protein, they are low in fat and contain valuable dietary fibre. Baked beans also provide important vitamins and minerals, including iron, folic acid, zinc...

THESE HAVE BEAN VOTED THE BEST! :-D (Heinz Baked Beans)
Advantages: Good value, nice taste
Disadvantages: More expensive than other brands
...We eat quite a lot of beans in our house, on baked potatoes, with sausage and mash, or our personal favourite? the cheesy beano toastie! Yummy! We have tried (and failed) to use cheaper brands in a bid to save a few pence but we always come back to Heinz? why?
Well, firstly, there is the matter of the taste of the bean sauce. I find that some supermarket own brands can have a rather bland tomato sauce, which makes the beans rather unappetising when you are eating them. Also I think that some brands of baked beans can be overly sweet, in particular some of the cheaper brands, but Heinz seem to have the balance right. It is not too sweet, but is sweet enough that the tartness of the tomatoes is compensated for. (I remember a particularly cheap tin of beans in times gone by had a tomato sauce that was so tart or bitter, that we...

Heinz Baked Beans
Advantages: Cheap, great tasting and nutritious
Disadvantages: go dry if overheated
...I buy Heinz baked beans regulary as a teatime snack to put on toast and they are delicious.
* THE PRODUCT *
