...My husband and I visited Edinburgh for a few days with friends. We found a serviced appartment a mile out of city centre for the first three nights and then splashed out £150 for bed and breakfast at the Balmoral for our last night of the trip. We had heard that it was an amazing hotel and we were, overall not disappointed. RECEPTION AND CHECK IN: The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. They took a card for any extras and then checked us in very quickly and efficiently. We were shown to our room by a porter who was very sweet and insisted on asking us about our trip to Edinburgh and recommending places to eat. BEDROOMS: One word - A-MAZ-ING - there is a superking sized bed which was beautifully designed and so comfortable it is unbelievable. Of course there is sky TV (very large) and a desk and sofa too. We had our reception in a hotel down Leith and then left the reception to go away and have a lovely night together. We got in the taxi and I still did not know where we were going. Disappointing Hotel in a Family Friendly Resort

...The Sol Balmoral is a large resort style hotel located in Calas De Majorca a purpose built resort on the quieter side of the island. I stayed there for 7 nights in October 2006 with my husband and two daughters aged 13 and 9 (at the time) on an All Inclusive basis. Check In My first impression of the hotel on arrival was that it was clean and bright. We had to queue at the reception desk to check in. I had booked a double and a twin room but was allocated two twins. When I mentioned this to the receptionist she tutted and grumbled. I said loudly to my husband that she was rude and her tone altered a little. Rooms The rooms were pleasant, clean and bright but very basic. Each room and had a bathroom with shower, toilet and sink which was clean and well kept. There were no facilities to make a drink, no telephone or anything else...

...I recently went on a cultural girlie trip with a friend to Paris. I was left to do all the booking. I was looking for a reasonable hotel, near a metro stop, which included breakfast. I came across the Hotel International on various travel sites and it seemed fairly highly rated so I booked us in for three nights. LOCATION: The hotel is located 6 Rue Auguste Barbier in the 11th Arrondissement. The nearest Metro stop is Garcourt which was a two minute walk away and it was a five minute walk to Republique which gives good links to other lines. It's not really central enough to avoid the Metro and walk to the attractions but it was located so close to a stop that it seemed ideal. PRICE: Prices vary depending on size of room and season. There are singles, doubles and triples available. We paid Euro254 for the whole time...

...I'm glad that I did not get to read any of the reviews before I went to this hotel, or see the Holidays from Hell programme the night before! The hotel can be found along the seafront, about three miles from the main centre of Blackpool, heading out towards Fleetwood. It is now under the Britannia hotels group and it is easily accessible by tram and bus. We used the trams the whole time instead of me driving all the time. My husband, my two youngest children and myself went last week for a couple of nights, after finding an advert which gave a special price of £35 per person dinner bed and breakfast per night. The two children were included free of charge, including their meals. The advert did state that the hotel was ungoing a £7million pound upgrade, and that some services may not be available. This small hotel / guest house is located south of the main River Dee on the South Deeside Road a short distance from the town of Ballater. It is located beside where the healing water still flows & close to the house itself is where Queen Victoria kept her horses during her reign. Her holiday home was Balmoral Castle which is just a short distance away. The old stable block which is now used as a store was where Queen Victoria & John Brown (her gillie) used to come everyday to pick up their horses & go riding. ...I recently stayed overnight at the chine hotel in Bournemouth whilst in the area for a friends wedding. It is currently rated as a three star hotel, but I cannot for the life of me see why as I found it to be of at least four star standard. There are 86 rooms, all of which incorporate an en suite bathroom and are decorated to a decent standard. All rooms include a hair dryer, trouser press, direct dial telephone, satellite television (selected channels only) and the complementary tray of tea, coffee and biscuits. There are four types of rooms available in relation to the view they offer the guests. The basic room is an inland room, then there is a garden facing room and finally the sea views and sea views with balcony (the prices are slightly higher for these). ...When we decided to make a return trip to Benalmedina we opted to go to the four star Hotel Las Arenas as it was recommended by friends. It is slightly further out just opposite the Castle Bill Bill and when you cross the road it?s a flat walk all the way to the marina which is away from the large hills on which many of the other hotels are located. Reception On arrival check in was swift and at this time we opted to pay for a safety deposit box we were then handed the safe key and card key to room 524 and pointed in the direction of the lifts. On looking round reception it was laid out with tables and chairs and also had a grand piano, a small bar ,toilets and computers with internet access.
