The Amari Watergate Hotel Bangkok - fabulous!
Advantages: great for shopping, great customer services, large clean modern rooms
Disadvantages: maybe a bit "out of reality" for those wanting to experience the real Bangkok
...Like the traveller on the previous review I was also unsure of what to expect about the Amari Watergate Hotel. We were offered a great deal with a travel agent with 2 nights for the price of 3, which for 3 nights in a 5 star hotel for £150 seemed criminal to refuse!
After making the booking we then checked out the hotel online and it looked great. We were not dissapointed.
The Amari is set in Bangkoks main commercial area with 3 of the largest shopping malls within walking distance (however, if walking in 95% humidity across frogger style traffic isnt your style a taxi to the furthest shopping mall - the Siam Centre is 40bahts (75p)
The hotel provided us with a free taxi from the airport which was clean and airconditioned and it whisked us away to the foyre of the hotel in about 40 minutes, we were received at the hotel...

Ambassador Hotel Review - Bangkok
Advantages: Location
Disadvantages: Outdated rooms
...I choose this hotel as a result of a special offer on 'asiarooms'. On arrival we were promptly shown to our room by a very helpful member of staff.
The Deluxe room was a lot bigger tahn other hotels I have stayed in. However, it did seem a little tired looking and outdated in its appearance (the wood panelled walls didn't help). The choice of English channels in the room was also quite limited. Although, because of the hotels great location we didn't really spend much time in the room.
Breakfast was included in the price and was of a good standard and with a large variety to choose from. However, the main restaurant were breakfast was served was always busy and we had to on a number of occassions share a table with other hotel guests.
The highlight of this hotel is its location, just off of Sukhumvit road, the hotel is only...

Bangkok Palace Hotel
Advantages: Good cheap hotel, good facilities
Disadvantages: Odd location, under the expressway!
...This is a very good hotel if you are visiting Bangkok for a brief time. I mostly took trips from the hotel to the main tourist sights so did not walk into the main bit of the city from the hotel, if you did it was quite a slog, especially when its really hot.
The hotel itself was good, spacious, well air conditioned rooms with good bathrooms. The was tea/coffee making facilities aswell as a well stocked +cheap mini bar. The hotel had a safe room to put your valuables in for a small fee. The restaurant was good for breakfast...theres nothing better than cold thai green curry for breakfast!!
There is also a nice bar in the hotel lobby which is lovely to sit in, in the evenings if you dont want to wander to far, it often has live music/singers. If you do feel like venturing far, the hotel runs a taxi service or you can hail one in...

Fantastic all suite hotel in Bangkok close to transport systems.
Advantages: Lovely hotel with Brilliant views of the river close to transport links.
Disadvantages: The hotel is very high not good if your scared of heights. Restaurant pricey and not worth it.
...Lebua at State Tower Bangkok.
Location.
The Lebua Hotel is an all suite hotel which is ideally centrally located on the Silom road in the business district near to the Chao Phraya River. Excellent views of the Chao Phraya River and Central Bangkok can be had from the hotel and the hotels distinctive gold Dome can be seen for miles around.
Getting there:
It is approximately 40 minutes by car from Bangkok?s new Suvarnabhumi International Airport. (BKK). It is 30 minutes by car from Bangkok?s original Dom Mueang airport (DMK) which mainly handles internal flights.
The nearest sky train station is Saphan Taksin which is approximately ten minute walk away which can whisk you off in air-conditioned comfort all over Bangkok. It is also near the Saphan Taksin pier where an abundance of water buses and water taxis ply...

Beauty in Bangkok
Advantages: Great Breakfast, Friendly staff, central location, Yummy poolside pina coladas.
Disadvantages: Perhaps not very wheelchair friendly.
...On our trek throhugh Thailand in March 2008 our first point of call was Bangkok. We chose The Arnoma hotel as it was very centrally located by the main shopping district and close to siam square. It was very reasonably priced and i think cost us about £33-00 a night we booked through kuoni so got a lower price with the whole package and i think a night free!
When we entered our room we were over the moon. I had read a couple of reviews on trip advisor which lead us to be dubious about the cleanliness of the hotel. However, the room was adorable with rose petals on the bed and fresh flowers. The bathroom was large, clean and modern and the bed was reasonably firm, just how we like it. There was a large swimming pool with a Bar which served excellent Pina Colados served in coconuts! Yummy.
The eye opener for me were the views from...

Amari Airport Hotel Review - Bangkok
Advantages: Close to Domestic Airport
Disadvantages: Too far from downtown Bangkok
...I stayed here in May 08 for 1 night. I was flying out of Donmuang Domestic airport early the next day and the location was ideal as it is a short drive away. On there website they show a bridge connecting the hotel to the airport, we were told this was now closed. Beware of the taxi touts who try and charge 300 Baht to take you there! A metered cab cost us 60 baht.
The room was as shown in the advertised pictures, complete with all the amenities, mini bar, bathrobe, tolitries. The beds were really comfotable.
My husband and I had some time to spare so were told by the hotel there was a very good shopping mall about 15-20 mins away. It was huge and I got the chance to buy items that are not aimed at tourists and therefore cheaper than places like MBK, Siam square.
I would only recommend this hotel to people who will be...

Grand China Princess Hotel - Bangkok
Advantages: In centre of town, clean rooms
Disadvantages: food was expensive
...I found this hotel to be in a very central location which was good for us as we were only in Bangkok for three nights. The room had air conditioning which came in very handy. The rooms were cleaned on a daily basis and the sheets were changed everyday. We were in the middle of the town and near to the Golden Palace which is a tourist hotspot, we were also near to the main town and all the shops were easily accesable. There were plenty of banks surrounding our hotels so changing up out money was very easy. The night markets were a 10 minute walk from the hotel and the red light district (which is worth a look for the culture shock) was a 15 minute walk. There were quite a few tailors and other shops further away from out hotel which we could get to by a 'tuk tuk' car and this was a very cheap method of transport (about £2...

The Landmark Hotel Review - Bangkok
Advantages: Location
Disadvantages: I can't think of any
...I stayed in this hotel the first time I ever visited Bangkok. I booked a package holiday with Thomas Cook and they recommended the Landmark Hotel - I was not disappointed!
From the moment I entered the grand lobbey area, staff made me feel welcome. I was offered a welcome drink and when we checked in was given a free room upgrade on a higher floor.
The room itself was perfect. It was large, clean and had excellent views over the city and hotel pool.
The facilities in the hotel were superb. The swimming pool, with seperate spa was perfect to unwind in after a long days shopping. If you don't fancy leaving the hotel, there are a number of restaurants to choose from. The Thai restaurant was particuly good, There is also a bakery/ coffee shop which sells very nice ice cream and cakes if you were looking to treat yourself...

Swiss Park Hotel Review - Bangkok
Advantages: Location
Disadvantages: Room/ Food
...My partner and I stayed in this hotel last year (07) for a couple of nights. We opted for the executive room and didn't relly notice anything executive about it. The bathroom was basic and had a leaky shower and mould on the wall. The floor in the room didn't reach the end wall/ window so you could see through the floor. The room had a really strong smell of smoke. The a/c was very noisy, making it difficult to get to sleep.
Breakfast was not a very pleasant experience. The choice of food mainly catered to those who could stomach Thai food and the fruit had flies on it.
The swimming pool was too cold to swim in.
The only plus for this hotel was its location, a few minutes walk from Nana skytrain station. Close to other hotels such as the Ambassador and The Landmark....

a great hotel - would stay again!
Advantages: lovely views of the river and very good facilities
Disadvantages: none
...I stayed in the Montien Riverside Hotel in Bangkok back in 2006. It has probably changed a little now but, all the same the information I can give will be useful to anybody thinking about staying there. The nightly rate at the moment starts at approximately £60 per room per night for a superior room type.
The location:
The hotel is set on the edge of the Chao Phraya river which is the huge river that runs through the city of Bangkok. It is a bit out from the main shopping areas and the main hub of the nightlife but, it has a stunning river location so obviously if you want this type of location then it is to be expected that you wouldn't be on top of other attractions. Overall though it only takes takes 10 minutes to get to Bangkok's main area for shopping and nightlife so not very far at all.
The hotel has been built on ground...
