...~~~ What is a Bar Camp? ~~~ A Bar Camp is an unconference. At a conference, there are often people hired to speak on a given topic and guests will listen. At a Bar Camp, there are no hired speakers. The same people that attend the talks will be giving them. The original Bar Camp and all of the London ones last for a weekend. Some of the smaller ones only last for one day. During the unconference there are several time slots and several rooms available. Those who wish to give a talk, on whatever subject they feel like, will write choose a room and a time slot. Everyone is strongly encouraged to give a presentation on something, but no one actually enforces this rule. At some of the smaller Bar Camps, there might not be enough time for everyone to talk. LONDON'S CALLING

Why Elvy's waxing lyrical about 'Wax Bar'...

...I went to this fantastic club for the ex's birthday towards the end of August-you know the scenario; its one of those 'look-what-you're-missing-and-what-you'll-never-have-again' opportunities so, in true Elvy style, I wasn't gonna miss this for the world.... LUXURY IN LONDON!

...In the middle of February, I was lucky enough to be whisked away for a long weekend in London with my grandma. I?m a huge fan of west end shows and musicals, and so our trip was booked- we would go and see various different shows. I couldn?t wait to go. One thing I hadn?t thought of before going however was which hotel we were staying in. I reckoned that we wouldn?t be spending too much time in the hotel itself, as we were going to be very busy, so as long as it had two beds, a bathroom and some sort of wardrobe I?d have been happy. I knew the name of the hotel was The Grosvenor, however I didn?t have a clue what its reviews were like, or in fact how many stars it had. K Bar or....Gay Bar

Advantages: Some cheap drinks promotions.
Disadvantages: Its quite crap really!

...The K Bar is a chain of bars, the majority of which being in London. When i lived in London there was two that were very close to me. There was one in Putney and another in Wimbledon. As it is a chain one would assume that each would be similar, running an identical theme to the next. However this is not really the case. I have only ever been to the one in Wimbledon once. This was a fairly large bar club, sporting a good, friendly atmosphere. The club played house music until two in the morning. The decor was nice, staff flirtacious, with the club having an overall- pleasant appeal. If i lived that tiny bit closer i would probably have gone back quite often. Don't get me wrong- the club was a good nights entertainment...but nothing special. The bar in Putney (which in my first year at uni i went to almost every week) was not up to...

The Mighty Mars Bar

Advantages: Classic chocolate bar
Disadvantages: They changed the nougat filling

...This is perhaps the most classic chocolate bar from my childhood. It has long been my favourite as a kid and I sort of have to say it still is so as not to feel as if I have disowned it (sorry Mars Bar but I have found other favourites - I still love you though!). 'A Mars a day helps you work rest and play' - this was the little catchphrase that was associated with Mars Bar. Funny really; it's like saying a chocolate bar a day is good for you. The slogan has now changed to 'Pleasure you can't measure' which definitely seems more appropriate. A standard Mars bar comes at 58g, about 11cm long and 1.8cm high. You'll pay about 32p for this bar in supermarkets which is well below the norm of 50p. They used to be more expensive but in recent years, the classic nougat and caramel filling has obviously lost its appeal as new and more...

Stranded in London!

Advantages: Excellent central location; good bars and restaurants
Disadvantages: Rooms a bit old fashioned; a little pricey

..." - the inner courtyard of the hotel with the humming air conditioners at the bottom. I can live (or sleep) with that, but there was also an awful rattling, like pipes, coming from somewhere in the ceiling. We went back downstairs to complain, and were told there were no other rooms. After standing our ground they eventually checked us in to an alternative room on the 4th floor. A little bigger, but still not brilliant - probably "average", from past business stays down in London hotels. The reception staff weren't particularly friendly, as other reviews have mentioned. Despite being "club" rooms, all that appeared to be different was the decor. Instead of old-fashioned wall-to-wall flowerey decor and furnishings, it was plain duck-egg walls, and a "modern" bed (faux-leather headboard and plain brown and green blankets). Not worth the extra money...

BUZZ BAR- Leicester Sqaure's HIDDEN Party Spot!

Advantages: FUN, CHEAP, YOUNG, FRESH! The Hidden party Place!
Disadvantages: Closes early and men over-do the Sleez sometimes!

...If I wasn't told about this venue before I set out to Leicester Square, I'd never have found this place! DIRECTIONS: If you come out of Leicester Square Station, head towards the main square with the big cinemas. Once you pass this, head for the big corner McDonalds and turn left! Walk 100 metres, cross to the otherside of the road. and you;ll see a small entrance with a vertical sign saying BUZZ BAR - You're there! BUZZ BAR: Everytime I've been there, I've had loads of fun! If you're going with a group of friends, get there for about 8pm. That way you'll have time to have a few drinks before the dance floor opens. ...Tracker Chocolate Chip cereal bars are a healthy option when you want to treat yourself. It has only one disadvantage: it is addictive. We bought a box of these cereal bars 2 hours ago and there is only one in the box ? First impressions ---------------------- The Tracker Chocolate Chip box is light and dark brown coloured. The two colours swirl together and in the middle there is a cereal bar. The box has a big white Tracker logo on it. There are 8 individually packed bars in the box. I bought them in Sainsbury?s for 1.52 pounds per box and they are on offer two boxes for 2.80 pounds. On bar weights 26 g. I think next time I will try another one too. Tracker cereal bars are available in three tastes: chocolate chips, roast nut and raisin. Their package is very similar: there is only one colour difference in the swirl. I haven?t tried...

...I bought a pack of these as it was 100% extra - 16 bars for the price of 8 and the fact that I thought they would be a treat for my daughter in her lunch box. She sometimes moans that she has too much fruit! I can't remember how much I paid for them, I could guess but I won't bother as I could be way out. I was feeling a little bit peckish one afternoon so I though I would try one, they are all individually wrapped when you open the main packet . 'Cookie bars' what does that mean to you?? Or what do you expect?? To me it means moist crumbly biscuit with lots of chocolate chips in. I opened the wrapper and inside was quite a thick rectangular biscuit I don't know why, but it didn't quite look like I expected it to. Upon tasting it I thought it was a bit dry.
