The Mighty Mars Bar

Advantages: Classic chocolate bar

...This is perhaps the most classic chocolate bar from my childhood. It has long been my favourite as a kid and I sort of have to say it still is so as not to feel as if I have disowned it (sorry Mars Bar but I have found other favourites - I still love you though!). 'A Mars a day helps you work rest and play' - this was the little catchphrase that was associated with Mars Bar. Funny really; it's like saying a chocolate bar a day is good for you. The slogan has now changed to 'Pleasure you can't measure' which definitely seems more appropriate. A standard Mars bar comes at 58g, about 11cm long and 1.8cm high. You'll pay about 32p for this bar in supermarkets which is well below the norm of 50p. Location is all with this type of establishment and the Leeds example couldn't be better appointed. You can watch the World go by through the Bar's large uncluttered windows, while you enjoy your drink of choice. And the choice is large though it doesn't favour (to its great credit) the generic lagers found in many other pubs. Behind the counter the array of wines on offer are ranged the length of the bar to ceiling height and they are well kept as I can vouch for by experience. ...I bought a pack of these as it was 100% extra - 16 bars for the price of 8 and the fact that I thought they would be a treat for my daughter in her lunch box. She sometimes moans that she has too much fruit! I can't remember how much I paid for them, I could guess but I won't bother as I could be way out. I was feeling a little bit peckish one afternoon so I though I would try one, they are all individually wrapped when you open the main packet . 'Cookie bars' what does that mean to you?? Or what do you expect?? To me it means moist crumbly biscuit with lots of chocolate chips in. ...bar of crunchy caramel you need to go for a brisk half hour walk of jog to burn it off! They are no use to use as weight lifting aids like a tin of beans as they are far to light and melt in your hands! Teachers comment ? A lot more effort must be put in to PE to prevent weight gain after consuming these bars in any quantity. The occasional one for a treat is alright. ********* Class over, you may leave now and for homework see how many local shops sell Daim bars and how much they cost. You may even find miniature ones! ...My oldest daughter sometimes takes a cereal bar to school for her mid morning snack. I am not necessary a fan of cereal bars as a healthy snack, as I think they have a lot of sugar in. (The school classes them as healthy). Whilst doing the supermarket shop I saw these 'Jammie Dodgers snack bar' I thought they would make a nice change as a treat, so I bought a box of 6. I can't remember how much I paid but probably over £2. Each cereal bar is 23g and contains 94 calories which is about average for a cereal bar. One also contains 16.2g of carbohydrate of which 7.8g of that is sugar. (just over a third of the bar). The salt content is ok it only contains a trace of sodium, all other nutrients are minimal - i.e. protein 0.7g, fibre 0.8g etc. The bar itself has crisped rice which a lot of cereal bars have but, running through...

A useful replacement for the Wii sensor bar

Advantages: A relatively cheap spare sensor bar. Good for a second TV or a quick replacement.
Disadvantages: The cable is still flimsy. Other sensor bars are even cheaper.

...-attach the sensor bar and doing this more than a couple of times will wear out the sticky pads on the bottom. As such, getting a second sensor bar might be a good investment. Particularly, seeing as you'll then have a spare about the household for the almost inevitable occasion when you break the cable. This does seem to happen to rather a lot of people, after all. The flimsy cable that connects it to the back of the console is easily snapped, should you move the console or television without remembering to unplug it, rendering the whole system useless. Not to worry though, as these replacement sensor bars work just as well as the original one, are relatively cheap, and you can buy one over the counter at GAME stores meaning that you'll lose little in terms of valuable playing time.
