...All of you Lush and Original Source lovers here are probably going to balk at this op, but I really don't have much of a choice here. Lush doesn't ship to Israel and Original Source won't send me free samples, so I'll just have to tell you about the soap I use almost every day. Good old, every day Palmolive is the bar of my choice. We usually purchase this soap in packages of four 125g bars that I see sells in the UK from £1.49 (at http://www.essentialproductsdirect.com/) to £0.98 at ASDA. These a standard sized 10cm long by 4cm wide by about 2.5cm thick bars, and the different scents are colored white, pale green, peach or pale blue. We usually purchase the original white ones since the scent is very fresh and clean with no sweet overtones. When you open the package, you'll smell only a fresh, clean and (obviously) soapy scent...

Review of Palmolive Original Soap Bar

A soap full of surprises

Advantages: Smells nice, good on sensitive skin
Disadvantages: looks boring

...I didn't actually buy Milky Bar soap, I received a small piece as a sample absolutely ages ago when having a bit of a splurge in Lush. This is not a soap I would have chosen for myself, nor is it one that I was particularly eager to try - hence why it has sat in a drawer for months on end! For me, if I'm going to pay the sort of prices Lush charge for a soap, then I want something special from it. Ideally I'd like it to smell amazing, and if it looks good or has some sort of quirkiness about it as many of the Lush soaps do, all the better. When looking at this soap in the shop, I felt it had neither of these things. Softness in a bar

I have tried lots of different products in the last few years to try and sooth her discomfort and moisturise her sandpaper-like skin. I have recently been using oilatum bath oil as a shower gel, which has proven to be quite effective but rather messy. Snow Fairy in a Bar

...Lush are a great company. They are always thinking of the environment. To go with this, Lush recently changed their soap base so that it didnt contain Palm Oil. This was brilliant for the rainforests and I couldnt wait to get a bar of ecofriendly soap. Sadly the new soap base made the soap feel like plastic. It didnt lather properly, the colour came out very quickly and the soap left my hands dry and horrible. Lush have now altered this soap base. So my first try at the new-new soap base was with this soap, The Godmother. As a giant fan of Snow Fairy Shower Gel I just had to get this soap but I put off buying it until the soap base was better. Review of Lush Godmother Soap Bar

I Wage War Against Germs.

Advantages: A good quality antibacterial soap
Disadvantages: None

...a yoyo and more often than not I end up with my hands in the soil so I want to be able to scrub up and feel confident that I have killed whatever germs may have strayed onto my skin. I paid 75p for my last bar of Dettol soap and I don't feel that it is a high price to pay for an anti-bacterial soap. The pale yellow bar weighs 125g and it is a hard soap so whereas soft soaps melt away in the hot water the harder bar of Dettol soap lasts me quite a time. The water in our area tends to be a bit on the hard side anyway and I do find that Dettol soap seems to give me little in the way of lather. But Dettol do say that it kills most germs including E.Coli and Salmonella so that works in its favour. The anti bacterial soap has an inbuilt moisturiser but I still find that my skin needs extra moisturising cream if I am using the soap regularly. I...

Not your average bar of soap

...My mum has always told me that I should use good old-fashioned soap and water instead of fancy lotions and such but I always insisted that my skin needed more attention than that! Well, mum knows best (sort of) after all! I was very dubious about using soap on my slightly sensitive problem skin but the Clinique assistant made it sound great so I decided to give it a try, after all, it's not like this is just a 99p bar of soap from the supermarket! It's pricey stuff at £10 for 150g! However, may I just say that although £10 seems (to me anyway) like an awfully large amount of money to pay for a bar of soap, it does last for ages so I think it's just as good value as paying £3-5 for some other cleanser that probably isn't as good. Nivea: Cream Bar Soap: lather up!

The most basic item of any bathroom being soap, so I guess it would be natural that I would use that as well so here goes!! The soap is white in colour and has an almondy, creamy smell. The size of the bar is quite decent at 125g so that you are not always replacing the bars! I really like this soap as it has a great smell and lathers really well so that it leaves you feeling clean when you have used it. It lathers easily and quickly when using it but it does last for quite a long time. An average bar of soap having 2 showers a day would last approximately 2 weeks.
