Ikea Step Stool: Step up to the mark

Advantages: Sturdy, fairly attractive, does its job and encourages imagination
Disadvantages: A choice of colours would be nice

...I took a trip to Ikea to buy a storage unit for my 1 year old son's bedroom and while I was there thought I'd get a couple of these steps to help him reach the taps etc when he's a little older. I would have thought you could get them everywhere but actually from my research online I couldn't find these small, cheap versions anywhere obvious hence the forward-thinking purchase whilst I was in IKEA. They cost £1.99 each and are fairly attractive in a matt white colour with non-slip blue 'bobbles' on the top and strips round the bottom edge to stop the stool slipping. The Mighty Mars Bar

Advantages: Classic chocolate bar
Disadvantages: They changed the nougat filling

...This is perhaps the most classic chocolate bar from my childhood. It has long been my favourite as a kid and I sort of have to say it still is so as not to feel as if I have disowned it (sorry Mars Bar but I have found other favourites - I still love you though!). 'A Mars a day helps you work rest and play' - this was the little catchphrase that was associated with Mars Bar. Funny really; it's like saying a chocolate bar a day is good for you. The slogan has now changed to 'Pleasure you can't measure' which definitely seems more appropriate. A standard Mars bar comes at 58g, about 11cm long and 1.8cm high. You'll pay about 32p for this bar in supermarkets which is well below the norm of 50p. ...I bought a pack of these as it was 100% extra - 16 bars for the price of 8 and the fact that I thought they would be a treat for my daughter in her lunch box. She sometimes moans that she has too much fruit! I can't remember how much I paid for them, I could guess but I won't bother as I could be way out. I was feeling a little bit peckish one afternoon so I though I would try one, they are all individually wrapped when you open the main packet . 'Cookie bars' what does that mean to you?? Or what do you expect?? To me it means moist crumbly biscuit with lots of chocolate chips in. A useful replacement for the Wii sensor bar

Advantages: A relatively cheap spare sensor bar. Good for a second TV or a quick replacement.
Disadvantages: The cable is still flimsy. Other sensor bars are even cheaper.
