Purple sprouting broccoli is good for you

(I think possibly we were so busy sorting out my recently Dads affairs) Purple sprouting broccoli is a brassica a cabbage. Broccoli grows to about 2 foot tall 60 cm. green cabbage like leaves growing up the stalk then a small purple coloured flower bud head on top and lots of shoots sprouting from the stem by the leaves these shoots have purple coloured flower buds too. The shoots grow to about 5 inches 12 cm long. I was tidying up my greenhouse yesterday and found a pack of broccoli seeds so will be sowing these in March. I note the packet of seeds I have cost around £2.00 I bought mine at the garden centre...

Quick yummy salmon and broccoli

...My husband turned up last night after a late shift with a Weight Watchers Salmon and Broccoli Wedge Melt for me as I always moan how hungry I am if I've stayed up for him coming home and then moan again that I've got to fish something out of the cupboard or fridge and cook it. Advantages: An excellent book by a versatile writer
Disadvantages: Some may find it a little slow-moving

...Introduction I have been quite critical of Ruth Rendell in some past reviews - her books range from the brilliant to the really bad - but I have to admit she is the most versatile of writers. I knew before I started this book that Barbara Vine was a pen-name for Ruth Rendell; had I not known, there is no way in a million years I would have guessed that this book was by the same author as the Wexford novels. I have not read any of Barbara Vine's books before, but expected something along the lines of a psychological thriller, such as those by Nicci French. What I got was a really well-written novel describing one man's efforts to write a biography of his great-grandfather, who happened to be a top physician to Queen Victoria, and who turns out to have some complicated happenings in his life. Santa Barbara in November

...I visited Santa Barbara form the UK with my girlfriend in November 1999. We were on a round trip of California and Santa Barbara broke up the drive from LA to San Francisco. The moment we arrived we fell in love with the beautiful mountainous backdrops and the great beaches and ocean front. The main centre of activity in Santa Barbara streches from the pier right the way up Main Street. The pier streces out into the Pacific quite a way and gives great views of the Santa Barbara area and coastline. Main Street streches for about a mile and a half through SB and is great for shopping and eating. The continental-style restaurants are great for sitting out in the sun and people watching whilst the shopping caters for all tastes with specialist stores sitting alongside big names like Macys and The Gap. ...With me being a vegetarian, I am sometimes limited as to what quiches I can eat. One of my favourites is the Tesco Broccoli Quiche. Packaging The quiche comes in a green box with a picture of the quiche on the front with Tesco Broccoli quiche written on the front. On the back is all the usual information such as ingredients, cooking instructions and weight. The quiche I am reviewing is a 400 gram quiche. Price Obviously, this quiche is only available in Tesco and here it costs £2.80 for two which I consider to be reasonable. The best thing is that this special offer is one of Tesco?s ?long term offers? which means they are pretty much always available for that price. ...I had decided to buy this particular soup as i am a fan of both Broccoli and Stilton and have tried several soups in the past and enjoyed them to varying degrees. This was the 600g carton on offer at Tesco for 98p, down from the usual price of £1.97. The packaging is a standard "Pure-Pak" milk carton type with a fairly plain photo on the front, but very informative. Ingredients and nutritional information are very clear on the back of the package along with the allergy advice which in this case warns of milk and possible nut trace in the contents. One other side is taken up with the spiel about the soup itself and "food as it should be". The final side is taken with Storage (can be frozen by the way), cooking and company contact information.
