It is in a fantastic location very close to the Passeig de Gracia and a short walk to Las Ramblas and the Barri Gotic (about fifteen minutes walk). The metro and trains get you anywhere you want to go in Barcelona and its only a five minute walk to the nearest station. The metro and trains are reasonably priced. Metro is 1 euro per ride. Train from airport to bottom of Arago was 6.50 euros each way. Advantages: Fantastic design of the hotel, great location, great price, friendly staff, very clean hotel
Disadvantages: No minibar or tea/coffee making facilities, 'open-space' bathroom, TV loosing signal

Advantages: The luxury
Disadvantages: None that I could see

...mix of cultures, sounds and fragrances. Also take a walk around the Gothic Quarter and down Paseo de Gracia. Also I would recommend you see the Sagrada Familia cathedral and Güell Park. Hotel Balmes - great hotel in a great spot of Barcelona!

Advantages: *Great location to Metro stations *Modern, clean and comfortable furnishings *Good staff

...For those looking for a peaceful, laid-back and friendly hotel in the heart of Barcelona, this is the one. We arrived in the heat of a Summer's day, and were only too relieved to find our hotel foyer (and room) were eager to cool us down with their air con! The hotel immediately seemed worth more than it's 3 stars, with its marble foyer and art sculptures welcoming us in, as well as 2 friendly members of staff. They spoke a fair amount of English and were very keen to have someone take our bags up to our room which was much-needed on a hot day like that! Our room wasn't huge, but still an ample size for just 2 people. There were 2 single beds, a lovely leather armchair, a wardrobe with shelving, a safe, a flatscreen TV with about 15 channels, bedside tables, good lighting, drawers, air conditioning with controls and an ensuite bathroom...

Advantages: excellent, convienient location right on la Ramblas
Disadvantages: there werent any for me!

.... shower fine, on the small size! I would definitely go back to the hotel, and happily recomend it. getting there - we got cheap flights from Bournemouth with Ryanair (£26.50, + 18 ish euros for a return ticket on Barcelona Bus from Girona airport right into the city to the bus station - and back). Barcelona is one of my favourite cities - so full of life & variety yet i think it caters for all tastes - its got the beach, the Olympic stadium, Art & Gaudi & Dali, tango, tapas & tons more. My favs: palau de la musica - stunning, Bar Pastis - tango nights tues & thurs, Casa Mila (La Pedrera) - gaudi's chimneys so magical if you get as dusk is just coming (check opening times!). Just writing this, I know now, I will be going back & staying again at Lloret - Barcelona is my fix & i want more. Hope you enjoy it too....

Advantages: Luxury hotel in a great setting for restaurants and shopping
Disadvantages: Not the friendliest staff, and pricey extras

...trouble for them when requested. On an eating note by the way - I would avoid La Rambla and head towards the amazing back streets of the old city. Ignore the tourist restaurants and sit at the bar of a tapas restaurant, preferably filled with locals. Point at all the fascinating little tit bits, they're so cheap it doesn't matter if you make a mistake. Order wine and they leave you the bottle to help yourself, at one euro per glass its a bargain! Back to the hotel in question...there is a small Egyptian museum, and many artefacts and prints dotted around all the rooms. There is so much to see and do in Barcelona that a visitor may spend little time in the hotel but just appreciate its fantastic air conditioning. If you are not an active tourist you may find it rather frustrating trying to bag one of the limited seats around the pool. We...

Central and Ideally Placed, Hotel Roma Reial

Advantages: Perfect location, excellent Hotel if you just want somewhere to sleep
Disadvantages: A little hard to find, nothing really major though, Breakfast could have been more substantial

...Having decided over Christmas that I fancied a trip to Barcelona again I got onto the Ryanair website and started booking up. Having been to Barcelona a few years ago and staying well outside the main centre I decided that this time I wanted something quite central but also at a budget price. After all there was no way I could have afforded one of the posh 5 star hotels. Hotel Europark - Good Hotel

Disadvantages: Customer lift wasn't working while there

...I went to Barcelona in January just gone with my mum, staying 3 nights at Hotel Europark on a bed and breakfast basis. The hotel has recently been updated and now consists of 105 rooms across 8 floors. While we were staying they were still doing building work, it was of no inconvenience to us, the only difference is that both staff and customers had to use to the service elevator instead of the customer lifts. Prior to going I read that from the rooftop the hotel had 'unbeatable' views of the city, when we decided to go up their we heard the workmen when coming out of the elevator so decided against going out there. Hotel-B, not for Olympic Swimmers

...You can't really miss the "B" Hotel, or is it Hotel "B"? There's a damned great stainless steel letter B on the roof. This is not some new way of advertising that you're the second best hotel in town (not such a bad idea on reflection, as who's going to argue with you?), but it's just the B from its home city Barcelona, affectionately known as "Barça" to both locals and soccer fans alike. A good hotel can really be the icing on the cake of any city break, and the "B" was no exception. It wasn't cheap, the daily rate at weekends being ?180 for a double or twin room, and that's before you tack on breakfast at ?13 each. However, the weekday rate was hugely reduced to ?100, so overall we spent ?380 on our accommodation for 3 days.
