Barcelona Spain Catalonia
Advantages: Lot to do and see, coastline of beaches, and lots of good shops to the expensive to the cheap.
Disadvantages: metro underground gets busy in the paek seasons, but all places have easy access and are walkable
...Barcelona? Why Not ?
One of the most beautiful cities in Europe
Barcelona Spain is one of the biggest influences that has ever been met, there is everything that you could desire there, from a walk to the park to the beaches to the night life the Music festivals, the Tapas, the coast and the shops, it is endless, Barcelona is a place of opportunity with its beautiful buildings and history, a short stay would never be enough to cover all there are numbers of attractions, The main street La Rambla is amazing with its flower stalls which give the la rambla a gorgeous array of color and .flavor There are pet stalls with baby rabbits, turtles , terrapins, birds and all childrens furry friends, with souvenir store's and high street shops on the road side restaurants are also on the la rambla where you can sit and watch all...

Pension Miami Hotel, Barcelona, Spain.
Advantages: Close to centre, clean room, great staff, near great shops, cheap and clean!
Disadvantages: no view, alley way smells, people pee in alley way, noisy.
...and everyday advice (they also have great maps there!)
The room was basic but nice and cool with aircon. It was big enough for 2 people. There is a TV but we didn't wish to use it (why watch telly when you are in Barcelona?!?!?!). There is a radio controlled by the light switches! The bath was in the living area with a huge shower curtain so the floor did not get wet. The bath is big enough for 2 ;-). The bathroom had a nice clean toilet, and bidet and the sink was in the main room and is huge!
Everything in the room was cleaned everyday. The toilet paper and towels were always stocked up. There is a wardbrobe which is big enouhg for 2 people, but there are minimal hangers. We took some and left them there! Also there are only 2 pillows on the bed so ask for more and you will get! The bed was so comfy it was unreal! I like hard beds (bad...

He's from Barcelona
Advantages: Everything you want on a city break
Disadvantages: Too many things to do
...Barcelona
^^^^^^^^^
Barcelona is one of the most popular city break destinations in Europe, and for several very good reasons. It is only a short flight from the UK and with budget airlines can be very cheap to reach. Being a coastal city the climate is not too oppressive for our sensitive natures and there is a little bit of everything available to keep just about any kind of visitor entertained. There are bars, restaurants and night life if that?s what you?re after. There are museums, galleries and spectacular architecture if that?s your bent and there are beaches, parks and shopping to fill in the gaps. Whatever type of break you?re after; chances are you?ll find it in Barcelona.
Having recently spent four days in the city what struck me most was just how much there was to do and how much I?d left undone. I?ve been on several...

Hot and Sticky in Barcelona
Advantages: Warm, historical, architecture (Ga*di), beaches
Disadvantages: Some attractions unsuitable for the less mobile
...I've just returned from a week in warm and wonderful Barcelona and I'm sickened to be home in rainy Scotland. Barcelona, as many of you will be aware, is one of Spain's biggest cities but isn't the capital. It does, however, hold interest for holiday-makers worldwide due to the outstanding architecture, sporting links and proximity to beaches and museums alike.
I chose June to visit Barcelona due to the comparatively good temperatures (around 30 degrees in the afternoon, not humid but certainly warm enough for me!) and my love of the work of Antoni Gaudi who was, in my opinion, one of the world's greatest innovators. I stayed in a simple, noisy hotel (across from the Immigration Office!) towards the coast in an area known as Barceloneta but in conjunction with some ear-plugs this posed no problem. Barcelona is one of the few...

Spain in September, part III
Advantages: See first review
Disadvantages: See first review
...high. We watched for a while, Tommy had a bath filled aplenty adding Sanex (for the smell always reminds us of Spain), we went to dinner and ate too much, considering we?d had egg with bacon and beans for lunch.
The very concept of street lighting has been around for hundreds of years in Europe. From wooden, oil-soaked torches to the modern day electric bulb lamppost, the streets have generally been well lit and everyone knows that when you walk out at night, you needn?t fear treading in something unpleasant or falling down a hole, because the streets are always illuminated. There is a lamppost on the same road as the Mar Ski hotel (Passeig Maritim S?Abanell) that has probably been there for a very long time as well. It?s situated opposite a restaurant with a sign on it that says BAR horizontally, the last letter makes the first...

Gaudi's Barcelona on a Budget
Advantages: Great architecture, free parks, easy to move around the city, great atmosphere
Disadvantages: Beware of pick-pockets and dodgy areas
...I visited Barcelona whilst Inter-railing this summer and was truly impressed.
I am a student, but I must warn you that I didn't spend the entire time drunk in bars. I've always thought that if you are abroad you should really make an effort to see the place you are in - otherwise you may as well just stay at home or go to Butlins!
I was very impressed by the city. I was less impressed by the rail system and would strongly advise travellers not to just randomly pitch up in Spain at all - get a plan and sort out reservations! As a result, I was actually in Barcelona for longer than I had intended - I was trying to get to Morocco via ferry from the very south of Spain - but this didn't come off. However, on my quest to find a way out of the country I spent quiet some time at Barcelona Sants train station and the airport. Both are easy...

Barcelona for students
Advantages: many many many
Disadvantages: non-english speaking people
...will work out to be cheaper (due to triple rooms / quad rooms), so go do your math.
You can virtually walk anywhere in Barcelona. THe weather is excellent, not rainy or cloudy like in England, so you don't really have to worry about rain. La Ramblas is set out like the Parisan sidewalks, with lots of cafes along the way, and performers everywhere. VEry interesting.
But if you wanna rest your feet, you can take the Metro - Spain's train system is very organised, very easy and fuss-free. Besides, it's dirt cheap compared to the subway in dear old London - single tickets to ANYWHERE cost 60p approximately. Course, you can drive but the traffic there is mad, like London - not to mention the right hand drive system.
So you might want to think about that. Oh, there is also the 'Tourist Bus' where you pay 12 pounds for a two day 'hop on hop...

Barcelona Beaches
Advantages: A nice tan
Disadvantages: sunburn
...Sun turned on it?s light, it?s another day. Not just another day, as today I wake up with a glorious feeling, I am in Barcelona. Joy beholds me, I don?t have to work as I am on holiday. I get out of the bed with much more urgency than I have ever felt in London. My girlfriend lies there still asleep, sheets half wrapping her body which is strewn across the bed in such an awkward fashion. I open the long doors to reveal a city basking already in warm sunshine, its only 9.30am. It seems living in London has taken its toll on me and my expectations of the weather.. The scene before me now seems amazing, a gift from the heavens, have to make the most of it just in case its gone by 11am, it?s sunshine!
It?s a beach day?
Leaning out over the railing and looking down to La Rumbla, the early rising tourists already taking in the sights...

Barcelona and its football team.
Advantages: Great city, Very good if inconsistent football team
Disadvantages: Disorganised airport, confusing ring road
...Barcelona is a fantastic place - I went there last year with Chelsea's football team, and OK, we got wasted 5-1, but I still loved the place.
Even then, last year, the weather was sunny and warm, and the people were very friendly. There are a number of sights in Barcelona, such as the massive Gothic cathedral, the Place de Catalunya in the centre, and the harbour. The number 1 tourist attraction however, is amazingly enough the Nou Camp and its museum, home of F.C Barcelona. Also it is the second biggest tourist attraction in Spain. It holds about 100'000 people, making it one of the biggest stadiums in Europe.
F.C Barcelona is not just a football team, it is a sports team, with basketball, hockey and many other sports, as well as arguably the most famous football team in the world. It is also a huge business, with F.C Barcelona...

"Barcelona, such a beautiful horizon!"
Advantages: Too may to name! Great nighlife, food, people, architecture, the list goes on!
Disadvantages: None that I can think of
...’s not too taxing), it’s castle which houses an impressive military museum. The Olympic stadium is also on the way up if you fancy paying a visit.
Getting around the city is easy. The centre is compact and it’s pleasant to walk and take in the sights. For longer journey, or if you’re feeling tired, then the Metro is your answer, you can buy a “T2” ticket for roughly 850 pesetas (only about £3.50) which gives you 10 Metro journeys on any part of the system – a welcome change for those who are used to using the London Underground., the service is a lot cleaner and more efficient too. The trains tend to stop around midnight, but there are nightbuses and taxis are much cheaper in Spain thean they are in Britain, so transports not really a problem.
Barcelona caters for all tastes and and how much you spend there is up to you, accomodation can...
