...Hi, I hope this review is of help to you in your choice of hotel. I have worked in the travel Industry for over 20 years now, so would say I can be quite critical. Ok, well I guess the best place to start is the location ........... ************LOCATION*********** This hotel is based in the Sants neighborhood of Barcelona. This area marks the city's southern boundary and has excellent public transport to the centre. Centuries ago this quarter was a village separate from Barcelona. What I really noticed was the narrow streets and the small houses. In this area is the Sants Station, which is in front of the Plaça dels Països Catalans. Advantages: Luxury hotel in a great setting for restaurants and shopping
Disadvantages: Not the friendliest staff, and pricey extras

..., and as per the guidebook a taxi to your hotel shouldn't cost more than 30 Euros. There are also cheaper options of taking a bus or the metro. As soon as we arrived in reception to check out with our suitcases, we were offered the hotel limo for the same price as a taxi to the airport. We quickly adapted to 'Spanish time' and returned from dinner late for drinks on the 7th floor by the pool, listening to live Spanish music from11pm. Being pregnant, the friendly bar staff were very willing to find obscure soft drinks (and even hot chocolate) for me! The bar staff in contrast to recption were extremely friendly and accomodating. We only ate one meal in the restaurant, primarily because there are so many fantastic places to eat in Barcelona, but the meal was beautifully presented and producing bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar... Advantages: Close to centre, clean room, great staff, near great shops, cheap and clean!
Disadvantages: no view, alley way smells, people pee in alley way, noisy.

...pm had a couple of prostitutes (one lady who sat there everynight on the window-ledge of the little cafe). She was far too old to be doing what she was doing so we said 'Ola!' to her everyday! She was friendly, but not always 'together' some of the time! There are plenty of shops near the hotel that sell all you need (cheap litre bottles of vodka for 6 euro's!) The cafe (previously mentioned) is great for morning coffee and the staff are great! Overall we loved Barcelona so much that I want to go over there and live and work. You will love it. Watch out for bag pinchers (saw 1 near the hotel and nearly 1 on the Ramblas). If there is anything you want to know about the hotel or Barcelona feel free to ask!... Read review

Advantages: excellent, convienient location right on la Ramblas
Disadvantages: there werent any for me!

.... shower fine, on the small size! I would definitely go back to the hotel, and happily recomend it. getting there - we got cheap flights from Bournemouth with Ryanair (£26.50, + 18 ish euros for a return ticket on Barcelona Bus from Girona airport right into the city to the bus station - and back). Barcelona is one of my favourite cities - so full of life & variety yet i think it caters for all tastes - its got the beach, the Olympic stadium, Art & Gaudi & Dali, tango, tapas & tons more. My favs: palau de la musica - stunning, Bar Pastis - tango nights tues & thurs, Casa Mila (La Pedrera) - gaudi's chimneys so magical if you get as dusk is just coming (check opening times!). Just writing this, I know now, I will be going back & staying again at Lloret - Barcelona is my fix & i want more. Hope you enjoy it too.... Read review

...Writing this review here in wet and windy Wales, it seems hard to believe that barely 2 weeks ago my wife and I were enjoying the sun of Barcelona. Its a wonderful city and our weekend there went far too quickly - in fact I think we spent more time picking a hotel than we did in Catalonia itself! As I mentioned on a previous hotel review, choosing a hotel in a major city centre can be something of a lottery and can make or break a holiday. You need to be near the amentities, but not above a nightclub which closes at 5 am. It helps to be near train and bus links, but not overlooking a station! By the time we'd finally chosen the Pulitzer Hotel, I felt I had a PhD in Barcelona and had seen more city centre maps than its mayor! Advantages: Hust off the Avda Diagonal

...I stayed at the Hilton Hotel in Barcelona last year for a long weekend and enjoyed it so much that we have booked up for another week in July this year. The hotel has around 280 rooms and is situated in the business, commercial and shopping district of the city and is only 15-20 minutes from Barcelona International Airport. It is on the Avda Diagonal it is close to all the transportation into the city centre. Take care if you have a hire car as it is £12 per day for hotel parking and you are not told about this when booking in. The restaurants are very good and the bar in the central atrium is a good meeting place with great cocktails at moderate prices. The hotel has a typical good quality Hilton ‘american’ feel, layout and facilities. The rooms are well decorated and have all the facilities you would expect... Read review

...Having decided over Christmas that I fancied a trip to Barcelona again I got onto the Ryanair website and started booking up. Having been to Barcelona a few years ago and staying well outside the main centre I decided that this time I wanted something quite central but also at a budget price. After all there was no way I could have afforded one of the posh 5 star hotels. So with those thoughts in mind I trawled all sorts of internet sites and ended up back on the hotel section of the Ryanair site. I had a couple of choices around the Station and dotted over the city but decided that Roma Reial fitted the bill better than any of the others. ...Me and my friend stopped in this hotel when we visited Barcelona for a few days before catching a train to Valencia and I must say it was probably one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in!! We booked the hotel after seeing it on the expedia website, and was impressed by its description on location and the look of the rooms. Price wise it was very cheap, we got it for approx £48 per night and stayed there two nights in total. On arriving in Barcelona after catching an easyjet plane from Newcastle we jumped on a train into the centre of Barcelona then hopped on the underground to this hotel. When we arrived I was very impressed by the entrance to the hotel, the look of it inside and the style it looks very posh and expensive.
