I <3 my Casio Exilim EX-Z700

Advantages: Battery life, picture quality, easy and quick to use, many features, reliable.
Disadvantages: Bright flash, large file sizes.

...The Casio Exilim EX-Z700 is a fantastic camera with very few weaknesses. It is suitably compact and not noticeably heavy yet the screen size is not compromised; the LCD display is usefully large. In addition, the design of the zoom button is incredibly quick and easy to use as well as zooming long distances. There are many different 'best shot' styles including 'backlight' and 'monochrome'. Nevertheless using the automatic 'portrait' function produces good quality photographs for an amateur photographer. It is very easy to flick through the photos stored on the camera and with the flick of a button they are displayed on a calendar to show when they were taken. There are many settings to play around with on the menu, including self timers, sounds etc. Overall the camera is simple to use and rarely needs referal to the instructions...

Casio EXILIM "ZOOM!" EX-Z1050

Advantages: Inane amount of pixels, Easy to handle size, 2.6" display
Disadvantages: Graning in darker areas, No memory card supplied

...can always become overwhelming, which is why, I think, a great advantage is the way Casio have kept to a minimalist control scheme, with two modes, shoot and playback. However, saying this, thee camera does have a mind-boggling 30+ shooting modes which can become a little confusing at times when you find you simply want to be taking a picture, not a panorama, long distance, or a night scene. The battery life was disappointing with my last camera but here I am mildly impressed, the official figures say that the cameras will last for 370 pictures, I have found it to last for 200 shots but still this battery life is highly commendable. Especially useful for when you want to be going on holidays, it is highly capable of lasting a week or two without the need for a charger and when it does need a charge it never takes more than 3 or 4...

Casio Exilim EX-S770 - Poor camera quality, overpriced

Disadvantages: Bad photo quality, overpriced

...phone it was still decent but obviously not of the same quality. On the EX-S700, the image was slightly out of focus even though I had all the right settings on and took it with a steady hand and it made my friend look stupidly shiny, which there was no way she looked like that in person. This camera seems to like to make everyone look like they've been polished and rough, which I doubt anyone wants to have in their family album, especially when they don't even look like that in the first place. The camera turns on too easily - never put this camera in your pocket. When the camera turns on, the lens comes out, which in a pocket... well, not good news. The amount of times I've heard a nasty crunch and thought the lens has crushed into pieces, but luckily it hasn't (yet). I don't put it in my pocket anymore, or in a special camera case...

...Another one of my toys, I bought this while I was abroad on holiday two years ago. I paid extra for a set of add-ons (1/2GB sd card, mini tripod, case, spare battery), which I won't discuss in this review (since you would have to get these separately). The camera itself fits nicely in the palm of your hand, and is a beauty to work with. It's a 5 megapixel camera, of which there is now a 10 megapixel version available. it charges via a dock charger, which in turn can connect to your PC via USB. Things I like about it: - The camera is small enough to carry around in a pocket - The screen is fairly large, and shows pictures decently - The camera takes pictures almost immediately in it's default mode, I've also had a camera which takes a second to take a picture (which is annoying) - I can walk and take pictures without stopping...

There is also a lever which you sort of flick from side to side in order to zoom in and out. As expected on the back of the camera there is the viewing panel, along with two vital buttons: one to take pictures and one to view the pictures you have taken. To the side of the screen is a menu button, allowing the user to change settings including; REC: continuous, self-timer, AF area, anti-shake, L/R key, quick shutter, audio snap, grid, digital zoom, review, review, memory. The Energizer Battery Charger

...I had been intending to purchase a battery charger for quite a while. In fact I had even dropped hints to certain family members around Christmas time, but to no avail. I was recently reminded of this missing piece of equipment in my life when I rediscovered the PC lead to my digital camera. Remembering that a pair of standard batteries lasted for only about 30 photos in this camera I decided that it was certainly time to invest in a battery charger and some rechargeable batteries. I purchased an Energizer CHDCW8 ? 4 battery charger from Argos for just £9.99. This decision was based on several factors, the most important of which was the price and what I considered to be the best value for money. The design also played a part in my decision process, but in the end it was the price/value that were the strongest influencing factors...

...Bought this from Boots recently. First impressions are very good - we were looking for some pretty fundamental things in our first digi camera: Large, easy to see screen Ease of use (i.e. good auto features and lots of them) Enough resolution for large (A4 and bigger) prints We spoke to the Boots photo consultant and after comparing 3 possibles (Nikon, Samsung and this one) for under £200 we plumped for this. So far, so good. The battery is rechargeable - don't even think about going for a camera that uses AA batteries as they won't last you five minutes before being drained apparently. The initial charge from flat for this camera was just 90mins to get it up and running and then you can get over 100 shots on a full charge (depending on how much you use the flash, etc.) according to the blurb - although we haven't taken that...

...I bought this camera a couple of weeks back and am absolutely delighted with it. Being a complete and utter camera novice I certainly wasn't interested in scrolling through a plethora of technically clever functions to be able to take a decent picture. I just wanted something reasonably simple I could point, press and rely upon after the cheap Praktika I'd been given some time ago as a birthday present kept letting me down by delivering blurred images. This Casio Exilim fits the bill beautifully. It is small, stylish and so easy to use a child could do it. I have tested it out by rattling off a series of shots in varying situations (overcast rainy day, sunshine streaming in through a back-lit window, TV on in a dark room etc.....it even captured the image on the TV and smoke coming out of an ashtray!) and it has delivered each...

...compared to the old casio I had before was the ability for it to do voice recording. You can just record the voice, or even better, record MPEG movie with voice. The volume is adjustable and so far it has not disappointed me too badly. The quality is OK considering it is not a digital camcorder but nevertheless, I would say it gives a fair quality for a movie. The look of the camera is slick and elegant by its own standard. Not too big and bulky but not too slim and easily lost. It is just at about the right, standard size. The camera is not that heavy and I have yet to test it's durability but based on my experience with casio camera before, i am reassured of the durability of this camera.
