Advantages: Top-notch build quality and design. First rate results
Disadvantages: No case! Quite pricey for specification level. Shortish battery life with no clear indicator

Advantages: Very high quality pictures for both print and web work.
Disadvantages: The bundled software that comes with it has a very Fisherprice feel about it.

Advantages: Good resolution, accurate photos and easy to use; good compensation for light and speed.
Disadvantages: icons are small if you wear glasses but an acceptable compromise for the compactness; charger is separate from the main camera

You'll get up to 3 minutes of movie action, with sound too, which you can send as a file attachment by email. My son who lives away loved the ones of our pets ! It is a 7.1 megapixel digital camera which means the pictures that it takes are very, very good quality. Personally I think that 5 megapixels is enough for taking photos but if you are planning on doing a lot of editing and zooming in on certain parts of photos then maybe 6 or 7 megapixels is more what you are after. This fits into the second category there so if you are looking to take photos to edit and want a well know name for a camera then this could be a good option for you. My little IXUS 400

Advantages: Small, relatively easy to use, brilliant pictures with crystal clarity!
Disadvantages: Quite a heavy little thing

...wish the camera could film more than just 3 minutes of goodness! The display screen is very good and shows a very accurate image of what you've just taken. The playback of the films are good too, although the sounds of the events taken can sometimes be a bit too much for the microphone. Hmm, we bought out little beauty in Hong Kong for about £300. Although at the time, this was only slightly cheaper than in the UK, we also had our little freebies. Being nice people they gave us a cardreader, a swarve suade case and a free (big) memory card to go with the good ol' charger and cables that we got with the camera. It was a very good deal! I have heard people complain about their own IXUS 400 to have shoddy cases, while I smuggly grasp my cute black case. Advantages: Image quality, face recognition, viewfinder, ease of use.

...I've just got back from two week's holiday in Crete and Santorini with this camera and I am very impressed with the shots I've taken. I bought the Canon Ixus 960 IS as a solution to taking a digital SLR, plus lenses etc. due to hand luggage restrictions as it easily fits in a pocket. The image quality is pin sharp, focussing exceptional and since I have problems with camera shake due to arthritis I was overjoyed to find that the image-stabiliser technology works really well, except in the very darkest of night shots (taken on the cruise ship's deck). Facial recognition works surprisingly well, even when multiple faces are grouped together. The 3.7x zoom is the only real drawback, but it's a small enough niggle. Canon Digital IXUS 80 IS -nice little camera

Advantages: Nice little pocket camera with all the necessary features
Disadvantages: Can't really think of anything

...I am not an expert on digital cameras and this is just the second one I bought. So I cannot really compare the Ixus 80 with other cameras. Nevertheless, I really like it. Looks The Lxus 80 comes in Classic Silver, Caramel, Chocolate and Candy Pink in an aluminium body. It is small enough to fit in a pocket and can be tacken anywhere with no problems. As far as I can say it is very reliable and does brilliant pictures for a normal user. Features It works with 8 megapixels .The 3x zoom works for all the general snapshot moments. It comes with an Image Stabilization (IS moniker) to reduce camera shake. As far as I know this is not standard on all cameras yet, but becomes more normal in newer models. The lens is glass, so it?s definitely an advantage towards cameras with a plastic lens. You can certainly see that in the quality...
