Samsung NC10 Review

Advantages: Good battery life, nice screen, near enough a full size keyboard
Disadvantages: small-ish trackpad

...I recieved this netbook for christmas and all i can say is 'wow'! My background with computers is vast having built many and installed multiple operating systems on each, however i have never owned a laptop. Therefore i was a little dubious about some of the things such as keyboard size, processing power and battery life. I was looking for a laptop which is very small in physical size while packing a punch so it could still carry out multiple tasks. Buying a full size (15.4") laptop seemed a bit pointlesss as i have two tower pc's which are my main machines, so this was just to be about casual surfing/ reading emails/ browsing while on the move. Samsung NC10 Netbook

Advantages: Lots of connectivity - Big keyboard - excellent screen - Good spec
Disadvantages: bad sleeve to store netbook - battery life not that long - small touchpad

...I managed to pick up this netbook for £299 which is oustanding value - from play.com. The netbook is very light and can fit almost anywhere - it is very easy to carry around - you can set up anywhere and very easily connect to the internet where available. The netbook looks very stylish and everything is laid out well. The keyboard is the biggest i have ever seen on a netbook - its almost full size which is a bonus as I have a lot of typing to do. One disadvantage of this is that the mousepad has been made very small which is a nuisance - you do get used to it but it is not ideal. The specs for this netbook are impressive I mean a massive 160GB hard drive, a 10.2 inch screen. 1 GB of RAM and a 1.6GHZ intel atom processor. ...I bought my NC10 to replace my laptop which was just too heavy to be carrying to and from work everyday. I purchased my NC10 on a promotion weekend from a high street store beating online prices significantly. I was trying to avoid big bulky items to carry as I was on crutches at the time. Not recommended but straight out of box into my rucksack in the shop from which it was purchased. Didn't notice much weight difference in my bag at all. The Samsung NC10 has served me dilligently now being used more and more instead of my normal laptop as battery life is excellent. I use the NC10 round the house for coursework, work and even during my work lunch. The Perfect Laptop/Netbook For Anyone - Samsung NC10

Advantages: Lightweight, Small, Large Screen, Great Quality
Disadvantages: Not the Best battery life

...I have this cute little netbook on a vodafone contract and I love it. The only problem I have ever had with it, is occasionally the touchpad will crash and need to be restartedm but this is very occasional and not exactly a big problem. Has a large memory of 160gb which is split into two internal hard drives, a decent size screen and is very portable. battery on full charge usually lasts me about an ahour 15 mins, but this could be different for other people, I dont know anyone else who has this netbook. Like all netbooks, this one does not come with a disc drive, but has two USB ports, so data can easily be transferred from PC to Laptop. Has XP running system, which in My personal opinion, is better than Vista, but thats for each person to choose themselves. Has built in wireless capability, and also the option to plug in...

Samsung's Neat Little Netbook

Advantages: Good performance, Good connectivity options, Good webcam, 160GB HDD, Upgradeable
Disadvantages: Not very good accessories, Picks up Fingerprints, Weird button under touchpad

...(although I do still have the cloth from my Eee PC). USING The NC10 has a 1.6GHz Atom processor and 1GB of RAM, which doesn't sound like much but it is very nippy for a low cost notebook. Music and videos play smoothly as they would on a full size laptop. The memory is even upgradable as the 1GB memory can be swapped with a 2GB one for even more performance. Also, 160GB storage for something that was meant to just be for surfing the net is pretty good and would allow for a lot of downloading. I would prefer this over a Linux netbook with a Solid State Drive with limited storage. Battery life seems to last about 5 hours although they quote 7 hours (probably only if you have it with the lowest brightness and leave it idle). SAMSUNG NP-NC10 Blue Netbook 1.6ghz Atom Processor

Advantages: Robust, Large Keyboard, Large Screen, Good Support.
Disadvantages: 1 Memory Slot, No Mobile Broadband Sim Slot, Specific keyboard key in unusual place.

...This netbook has to be one of my favourites, boasting a solid case, 10' screen and a fast bootup to Windows XP. Having played around with a few netbooks recently all boasting similar specifications, I can honestly say that I was not disappointed with this offering from Samsung. There are some negatives that let this review down slightly, so I will get these out of the way first. 1. The "\" key is located on the right side of the keyboard next to the "/" key. This takes some getting used to when swapping from a normal keyboard and you tend to select this by accident instead of the shift key. 2. There is no mobile broadband sim socket, so you have to buy one of the mobile broadband usb sticks which is fine but it would have been neater to simply keep a sim permanently in the netbook. 3. Samsung but smaller

Advantages: Very compact and lightweight, excellent value for money, great design with brilliant screen

NC10 Review

Advantages: Very good battery life (5-6 hours), large keyboard for a netbook and nice size screen at 10.2 inch
Disadvantages: Touch Pad is fairly small

...I bought this netbook around 3 months ago from currys for 299.99, which for a samsung laptop is a good price. The screen is much larger than most of the other netbooks which are in the same price range, the processor is not light at 1.6 ghz but it is fast enough for browsing the internet, playing some old games and watching movies. Also 1 gig of ram really helps the speed, however i would not recommend installing vista. The lid of the laptop is very shiny and produces a nice finish which you would expect from a Samsung laptop. Samsung hits the netbook world for 6

Advantages: sturdy, reliable, quite nippy for a netbook, relativley cheap
Disadvantages: sound, no ssd option, still can't beat the aspire one

...10 is very slightly nippier than some other netbooks such as the msi wind. The screen is also the standard 10.2" 1024x600 too, but it is a very good quality screen, and puts most other netbooks to shame. The deciding factor in the netbook market is the quality of the netbook, and the samsung comes with quality to the hilt. The solid build of the netbook combined with it's spacious (by netbook standards) keyboard helps to make using such small devices less of a pain, and everything just feels right with it. the ports and connectivity are good too, with 3 USB ports, a VGA out port (for hooking up to an external monitor) and a 10/100 ethernet port.vBattery life is pretty standard, generally speaking the netbook will last 3-4 hours before dying. overall there isn't much to criticise this netbook for, sure it could come with a SSD drive...

Samsung U600 Fairly Good Phone, Poor Battery Time.

Advantages: Very stylish, simple to understand menu, Great camera, Good value for money.
Disadvantages: Poor battery life, weak screen, easy to catch touch buttons.

...I bought this phone about a year ago and its been going fairly good, had a few problems along the way, the screen has cracked twice now but i have been able to replace them i feel the screen is quite weak and a small bang can crack it all the way through to the lcd. I also feel that the Battery life is very poor, such as if i'm texting during the day it only lasts about 7-8 hours and even if i dont use it i have to charge it up every night or it will be dead by dinner time the next day...i think this is because of the touch buttons which i also found a bit difficult to get use to, even now its easy to accidently ring someone like the other day i was using the light as a torch and rang someone at 5.30am...ooops... :)......and also if you are nearly to the end of a long text message its very fustrating when you catch the cancel button...
