Capo Bay Hotel, Protaras

Advantages: fantastic 4* hotel
Disadvantages: don't go there in the week that they close!

...We have just returned from our honeymoon in Cyprus. We stayed at the Capo Bay Hotel, which stands on the Fig Tree Bay in the resort of Protaras. It is one hours drive from Larnaca Airport. (I will reveiw Protaras as a resort separately. This review is solely on the Capo Bay Hotel). The hotel was fantastic. It is 4star hotel and the service and facilities are great. The Capo Bay hotel has 225 rooms over 4 floors and was built in 1985. It offers a gymnasium with massage and jacuzzi, tennis, scuba diving, pool, 2 swimming pools (1 heated) and 4 different restaurants to eat in, including 1 beside the pool. We paid £1500 for two weeks Bed & Breakfast. This was for an inland view room, but because we were on our honeymoon, we were upgraded to a seaview room. We overlooked the swimming pool and had an excellent view...

Paphian Bay Hotel Paphos

Advantages: Everything!!
Disadvantages: nothing

...I stayed at this hotel for one week in July 2005. It was brilliant. The hotel looked classy from the inside and out, and was only a short way from the shops and restaurants in Paphos. Check In: I arrived at this hotel with 2 other family members, it was night time and we were all feeling tired and stressed. The check in to the hotel was quick, even though there was only one receptionist there. We quickly found our room on the bottom floor of the hotel, just a little way down the corridor. What we thought was the bottom floor was actually not though, as we found out, you had to go downstairs to get to the pool and the other facilities. Galway Bay Hotel

Advantages: Views, facilities, excellent staff
Disadvantages: A bit pricey

...I stayed in this hotel nearly a year agoa, so I hope standards haven't slipped since then! Was in Galway on business and was recommended this hotel. It's located just outside the city - Salthill direction, and has commanding views of the sea. I found the staff to be very helpfull and in good spirits throughout my stay. Hotel decor is bright and airy. Rooms are large as are the en suite bathrooms. Facilities are extensive and each room are well equiped as you would expect for a 4 star hotel. Did avail of breakfast in bed for an additional charge of E5 but it was well worth it. The food was tasty with a good selection available for a all. So I would have no hessitation recommending this hotel - ideal for those looking to be pampered!...

Kenmare Bay Hotel

Advantages: Clean, comfortable, good location for touring Kerry

...We spent some time travelling in the South and West of Ireland and, after landing at Cork and an easy 50 mile drive, stayed the first night at the Kenmare Bay Hotel. The hotel is ideally situated for exploring the beauties of the Kerry countryside, although the day following our stay was wet and misty, which meant that anything more than 50 yards from the roadside on the Ring of Kerry was invisible! The hotel itself is on the large side with 136 rooms, but the service is still personal and friendly. The night we stayed there were a couple of coach trips booked in so early booking for dinner was advisable. The food is locally sourced, cooked well and we can specially recommend the seafood chowder and the Kerry beef. We highly recommended Naama Bay hotel

Advantages: Central Naama bay location, 5 star hotel at bargin prices
Disadvantages: If you are not used to Arabic culture you'll think your getting slow/poor service

...First please understand this is a review of the hotel not the resort of Sharm el Sheikh. I will add detail where appropriate but for a full review of the resort I will write one during one of my next reviews. We have stayed in Sharm 11 times so far and our last 4 holidays we have stayed in the Naama Bay Hotel. We have stayed there in March, November and July, all have been excellent although July tends to be busier. This hotel was very close to one of the bombs that went off but suffered only some broken glass in the front which was repaired quickly, I have to say that despite being caught up in the bombings we will have no qualms about going back and will be staying at the Naama bay on our next visit. First I should let you know where our requirements lay so you can judge our viewpoint. We are divers and go to Sharm at least...

Meadfoot Bay Hotel,Torquay.

Advantages: Great hospitality, comfy clean rooms, cracking breakfast!
Disadvantages: Distance from the centre of Torquay

...Both my Husband and I were looking to get away last minute (8th & 9th August '06) and decided to set our hearts upon Torquay. We have visited Torquay before but haven't had the pleasure of staying so off I went on Google to search for hotels/guesthouses in Torquay. I stumbled across the Meadfoot Bay Hotel and I thought it was great that they had their own website www.meadfoot.com. I browsed the pages and was happy with what i saw, so decided to pick up the phone to see if they had any availability. My Bay

Advantages: tasty addition to stews and cassorole
Disadvantages: maybe to strong for your taste

...Bay is an everygreen herb which grows like a shrub, it can be grown in open spaces or in tubs. The flowers of the bay are yellow and it will flower in may. The best way to get a bay plant is to buy one from a garden centre for around 99p depending on the size. I also like to get my herbs from bootsales where you can pick them up from 25p so saves money. When your bay plant is well established in the pot re-plant it outside. It likes to be in a sunny but shaded place in the garden. They may die off in the winter but should throw new shoots during the following spring. Bay is a native to the east mediterranean but have been grown in europe for years. They are a very popular herb to grow in your herb garden as they have a good use in cookery. You can use the leaves dried or fresh. Bay leaves have a very strong aromatic...

Royal Bay Hotel, Elenite, Bulgaria

Advantages: Everything you could need in one resort, friendly staff
Disadvantages: Not a good selection of food If you are a fussy eater.

If you stay at the Royal Bay Hotel you can not eat at the Royal Park Hotel Restaurant as you have wristbands that are easily visable to each hotel. But there are at least 3 other restaurants you can eat in. You do have to book these around 10 in the morning for that day. In the village complex you have an entertainment hall were the staff put on shows most nights, plus you have a room with pool tables and games room. There was an internet room, that was normally busy with the teenagers. When we booked our holiday we were told that there ws a childrens club that we could use and it was free with first choice!!!! In St Valery, I have stayed at: ~ ~ Le Relais Guillaume de Normandy, a tall, turreted edifice in Normandy-Gothic style, which on a stormy night would serve admirably as a set for a horror movie. Inside, though, the rooms are quite conventional, and some have a splendid outlook across the bay. The food is good and reasonably priced. Rooms are 62-80? (c£50-65).
