Advantages: Very informative site from the Beeb Disadvantages: None
...The BBC?s weather site?now there?s an interesting thing to review?? Surely it?s just a page with an up-to-date weather map on it?and perhaps an outlook for the next few days? Well, yes you?d be right. But it does have more to it than that?
The light blue homepage does show a satellite image of the British Isles, with various cities pinpointed on the map to help with those who don?t know where London is?oh dear?but obviously they?re just for reference points. As I type, there seems to be an awful lot of rain heading our way. Those in Ireland are currently getting soaked! There is a slider along the bottom of the map which you can manually move to see what will happen to the weather over the course of the next few days. It could be a wet one looking at this!
You can change the map to a temperature map, but at this time of year...
Advantages: Excellent magazine with lots of easy to cook recipes Disadvantages: A few calorific puds
...What shall I cook for dinner tonight? As much as I love cooking, and since retiring have more time (or so I'm told!) I don't often plan menus in advance. I cook what I feel like on the day. But sometimes you want to try something new, maybe something easy and quick to prepare, but it must be tasty and look good - in other words look as if I've slaved over the stove preparing something wonderful for my loved ones!
I love having magazines to browse through and spotted the BBC Easycook in Somerfields one day. I'm a fan of cookery programmes and often use the BBC website to find a recipe that I've seen cooked, so decided to fork out £2.50 for the magazine.
Value for Money?
******************
Oh yes. I was amazed at how many recipes there were I would try, as I have shelves of cookery books and use only a few recipes from each of them...

Review of BBC Easy Cook
Advantages: a great channel with loads of programmes Disadvantages: none
...Probably the best channel on TV, BBC1 provides us with hours of entertainment and enjoyable programmes each day.
Unlike, ITV, channel 4 and channel 5, the BBC aren't cramming as many adverts in as they can, ITV usually have commercial breaks every ten minutes.
Aswell as wonderful series and great childrens programmes, the BBC also bring us movie Premieres and some exellent soaps.
The best films are mainly brought to us on bank holidays or christmas ect. These include blockbusters such as Titanic and Godzilla, also old favourites such as Free Willy and Beethoven. Also adding some for the little ones.
The childrens programmes, not the best, but still educating and interesting for young children. CBBC has brought us exellent series, for example Grange Hill, an all time favourite, and Blue Peter. Also for the younger ones...

Review of BBC1
Advantages: Very professional uptodate online content Disadvantages: compulsary TV licence fee
...BBCBBC is listed as one of the top three searches on Google UK, so what is the BBC? The fact that Google say that it is one of the most searched terms in the UK is quite surprising to me as I have never searched for it on Google, though I think my wife uses the BBC website to checkout the Weather Forecast occasionally and on one rare occasion watched BBC TV on the Internet. Going by the Wikipedia definition, "The British Broadcasting Corporation, almost always referred to by its abbreviation "the BBC". The BBC was founded by John Reith in 1922.
Since living with my wife who prefers Sky Television, I have rarely watched BBC, though as a child growing up when my parents moved to England in 1985, I remember there being only four television channels, BBC1, BBC2, ITV and Channel Four. I have only recently begun listening to...

Advantages: Free & Flexible Disadvantages: Only have shows for the last 7 days
...I love the way some technology has emerged and really has enhanced your life. It definitely has changed the way you can and do watch your programmes.
BBC iPlayer allows you to catch up on shows you missed in the last 7 days. I must admit BBC does have alot of competition with ITV and Channel 4. The competitors do allow for you to watch shows that were broadcasted alot longer than 7 days ago, which makes them slightly better.
You can use BBC iPlayer on your laptop, computer, games console via wifi e.g. wii, phone, which makes it very much accessible from anywhere. The flexibility of where and when is definitely the best thing about the BBC iPlayer.
What I do love BBC iPlayer for is shows such as:
Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Mock The Week, Michael McIntyre Comedy Roadshow, Have I Got News For You and The Graham Norton Show.
I recently...

Advantages: Bring the latest news and fast in breaking news broadcasting Disadvantages: Doesn't focus on the international topics as it should be
...The BBC is a very well known British Corporation, It was founded in 1922 and expanded over the years to cover all aspects. these days it's not only British , it's covering most of the globe including BBC Arabic! It's been watched by billions of people in all the over the world. Bringing you all the important news locally, and international news as well as the weather, sports and even celebrities not forgetting up to date news.
When BBC news 24 lounged it was a big hit for people who really concern about what's going on outside their door step, it's good for some who couldn't fellow the morning news or for some who work late and need to keep up to date with the world's actions.
As a working person who finding it hard to catch the news all the time I found news 24 tonight a fine programme, it is quite good , gathering stories...

Review of BBC News 24
Advantages: Easy to use, great BBC programmes, ability to resume programmes, picture and sound quality Disadvantages: Most programmes only on for a week and some not available at all.
...BBC iplayer is a website that allows you to watch most BBC programming about an hour after it has been shown on TV usually for seven days after programming, although some BBC shows have extended availability ('Merlin' and 'Being Human', for example, were available for a considerable amounts of days). It is one of three British broadcasters that legally provide programmes online (the others being Channel 4 and ITV). The best thing about it? - It's completely free! As a penniless, TV-less student, it is a godsend. To the busy individual who may not have every evening free, it allows them to keep up-to-date with a particular programme. Working a back shift and lack a DVD recorder? - You need not worry as iplayer is there to save the day...

Advantages: Hey, it's the Beatles! Disadvantages: Not as polished as later output. Mostly not their own songs.
...First, let me make this clear: I LOVE the Beatles, and although by no means a specialist, I am a big fan. This album is quite different from the rest of the Beatles' albums, as it is not up to their usual studio recorded, very well produced standards. All the tracks were recorded during sessions the band did at the BBC in 1963/65. And while this format often leads to a lack of sound quality (although I guess no-one could have produced this better than George Martin himself), this is more than compensated by the sheer joy of being able to hear the Fab Ones live. We are offered a glimpse of the brilliant live talent we were deprived of by the excesses of Beatlemania.
I won't list all the tracks as this double album contains almost 70. Suffice to say that 14 of the tracks are Lennon/McCartney songs (of which one, 'I'll be on my way...
Advantages: Great Djs, Good music, Funny Disadvantages: Run by BBC
...Hi today i will be reviewing BBC Radio 1.
I usually listen to Radio 1 at night as its something to do while trying to get to sleep (not a bad thing!). I personally enjoy the Chris Moyles Show and Scott Mills mainly because I find Chris funny and Scott has some great features from the old angry pizza man wind up to the new Whats Becky's Forté
which features Becky the Assistant Producer trying to find that talent she excels at.
The Chris Moyles show is different than most other shows on Radio 1 in that its not just the presenter that gets involved the whole team have a great time and in turn help you to get ready for whatever your going to.
During the day there is Jo Whiley, Sarah Cox and Edith Bowman. I personally don't listen to these just because I'm usually busy. For the few times I have listened to them they do film...

Review of BBC Radio 1
...I would just like to write a review on BBC News 24, the news programme from BBC found on cable channels (not currently found on Virgin Media for now) that currently runs 24 hours a day 7 days a week and brings you all of the latest news - or does it?
In my opinion, BBC News tends to show exactly the same news stories from exactly the same viewpoints over and over until a new development happens within that story or something else happens elsewhere. From my own point of view, I would just like to see them looking at the points of view not only of those who have possibly been directly involved (such as those who are currently serving in the wars if they are able to or a member of their own regiment/ family etc back home), or another individual who has nothing to do with that particular situation directly (for example Joe Bloggs from...
