Advantages: Excellent taste, Pleasant smell, Unique Disadvantages: run out too much
...~ BBQ DREAM ~
Pringles have been around for years and they do not hesitate in bringing out new and great tasting flavours. They are incredible convenient and I found myself buying a few tubes at the weekend for my brother?s birthday party. Deciding on what flavours was really difficult as I love most of them but I thought that I would get a plain, and two flavoured ones. The barbeque sauce flavoured snacks has to be one of my favourites and this was the first time I had tried them. I am convinced that these are the best flavour and I think they went down a treat.
I thought I would try these as firstly they are properly the only ones I haven?t tried yet and two because I love BBQ sauce so thought these would be excellent too. The cover is not that colourful but you can tell what it is and I picked it out from the shelf...
Advantages: taste good, good price if on offer, tube can be used for so mnay things once empty! Disadvantages: High in fat and calories, do not taste like BBQ flavour
...Every so often I like to have something different for my Saturday night treat and this week hubby came back from the shop with these. I am not really a fan of BBQ flavoured food but for some reason I love these.
~~THE PACKAGING~~
The Pringles come in a nice thick cardboard tube which has a clear plastic lid. I love the design of the lid as it means I can keep them fresh if for some reason there are any left after hubby gets his hands on them. The tube is a burgundy colour and on the front it has the Pringles logo and a picture showing a few of the Pringles and some tomatoes pieces, onion segments and spices. Around the sides of the tube are the ingredients, nutritional details and the web address for Pringles. The size of this tube and contents is 155g.
~~THE PRINGLES~~
The Pringles, well it has long been debated if they are...
Advantages: Delicious snack Disadvantages: "Once you pop, you can't stop" never was a slogan so true!!
... TEXAS SAUCE BARBECUE SAUCE PRINGLES
Since my daughter got married last year and moved sixty miles away, we probably spend more time with her than we had in year!!
Anytime they can she and her husband come up to stay, or we go for the weekend there.
These ?get togethers? usually involve several bottles of wine, bottles of beer and masses of savoury snacks.
The snacks vary widely ? nuts, crisps, olives, dips, bread sticks etc, but what you can guarantee is that there will be a tube of two of Pringles devoured in one of these sessions.
Our last snack night involved a tube of a new variety of Pringles - Texas Barbecue Sauce - so they are what this review will be about.
So, are you sitting comfortably!!!
JUST WHAT ARE PRINGLES?
I am sure that you are all aware of Pringles, but just in case, here is a little...
Advantages: Easy to use, looks good, Disadvantages: have to buy gas cannister in addition
...What would the Great British Summer be without a barbecue? That's what we though in our first summer in our new home so off we set to find our bbq. Not wanting to spend too much on something that was inevitably going to sit redundant for 10 months of the year, this completely met our needs. We purchased this in a sale so it was discounted, so not too sure what this would actually retail at now.
Initially we thought a gas bbq would be expensive as you have to buy the gas cannister too, which works out at about £40. However, having struggled with charcoal bbqs in the past, I'm glad we went with gas! It was quite time consuming and tricky to construct from scratch (not the best instructions!) but once fully constructed, it is pretty sturdy. The gas is easy to control and easy to cook on (gone are the worries of sausages being black...
Advantages: portable, light, cheap and great for camping Disadvantages: they are not meant for heavy cooking
...all the burning within it , although we do try to put it on a bit of scraped earth. The cooking area is plenty big enough for 2 being approximately 14 by 10 in so you can fit a couple of decent steaks and a pack of sausages on it.
It?s easy to light, although at first it flares up a bit and is quite fierce. We stick a small pot of water on top of it at this point to boil up and stick it in a flask, by the time this is done BBQ is ready for the food, put it on too quick and it will burn. The BBQ will burn for around 20 minutes so there?s plenty of time. There?s usually enough heat left to get some more hot water for some coffee at the end. The water in the flask is for the morning. The foil tray just wraps round any rubbish and pops back in one of the packs to be chucked away somewhere on the way home
These BBQs are about £7...
Advantages: Addictive flavour Disadvantages: Messy, pricy and not that good for you
...Of all the Pringles flavours, I find this one to be the most addictive. It's quite a strong, almost meaty barbecue flavour, but this somehow makes me want to eat more. Pringles are wavy crisps which stack perfectly, as they are all amde the same shape, and they're presented in a cylindrical tube. They're very distinctive.
Recently, I went to do our weekly shop at Tesco, and bought a couple of tubes of Pringles as they were on offer. Normally, they have to be for me to get them, as they are very expensive, usually rolling in at just under £2 for a 155g tube. However, they were on offer for 2 tubes for just over £2, so I thought I'd grab them.
The crisps, despite the addictive flavour, are a bit annoying as they leave a bit of 'dust' on your fingers as the barbecue powder comes off very easily. Also, the tube causes a bit...
Advantages: The best, works brilliantly, good selection of spares and accessories Disadvantages: None
...The Weber One touch is quit esimply the Daddy of charcoal BBQs!
Ok, so let's start with quality. The Weber is very well made, fits together superbly and is really solid when assembled. There is a certain weight about the parts (except for those that are non coroding aluminium, obviously!) which just gives you a reassuring feeling. A real upside to the Weber though is the availability of spare parts and accessories. My dad has had one for over 10 years, and a couple of times has had to replace parts, and it's proven to be really easy - none of your "one summer then chuck" situations here!
The lid has a handy bracket on it so you can rest it on the rim when the BBQ is open and the handles stay cool all the time (care, these are the only cool parts when the BBQ is lit!)
There is also a chimney on the lid that can be opened and closed...
Advantages: Crispy, Delicious and they have a real barbecue flavour taste. Disadvantages: You Have To Eat Them All
...I love Pringles Texas Barbecue flavour and they always seem to jump into my trolley when I am shopping (naughty Pringles now I will have to eat you). When you are in a Snack Attack Mood nothing else will do. It's that crispy delicious distinct dry potato taste that gets me every time and well there doesn't seem any point leaving any in the tube.

Advantages: good quick cooked food, smokes your meat well, easy to use Disadvantages: non adjustable grill, rare risk of hot coals dropping on your leg from the bottom of the BBQ
...This BBQ is so much more better than any gas or electric BBQs because of the use of the char coal. It leaves a better and cleaner taste, than gas or electric BBQs because some gas BBQs gives a gas taste in your foods and it can be toxic! Electric BBQs just simply have no taste at all! That way in my point of view, i always use the Weber One Touch Silver BBQ! It can be long lasting for at least three or four years, and it is easy to clean and easy to put away for non BBQ seasons! It has a lid with an adjustable vent to control the amount of smoke and heat, and the same thing on the bottom of the BBQ. This can also be useful to use as a heat source on cold summer nights with your friends at a party in stead of a camp fire and it is much more safer than a camp fire too! I think this BBQ is so great because it cooks my meals fast...
Advantages: Ease of Use Disadvantages: Doesn't last long, Doesn't heat up properly, Expensive
...I have used these BBQ's twice due to being unable to get hold of any at Tesco. The first time i used it,i thought the price was rather steep as it was over £2 for it. Sure it is sainsbury's but compared to others i've seen around,it seemed to be a lot more expensive. Anyway i thought i'd give it a try seeing that it was Sainsbury's and perhaps the performance would be a whole lot better than others i've used.
When i unwrapped the packaging there was a bag which contained charcoal in it. This was rather strange as all the previous dispodable BBQ's i had used just had a thin sheet of paper which was very effective in getting it started.
Lighting the BBQ was not a problem but it took a very long time to get the right temperature. The guidelines were 20 minutes but even after 20 minutes, part of the bag was still there and didn't seem...
