Disadvantages: Limited amenities, but what do youe expect for 2*...?
...All guestrooms are decorated in custom designed Art Deco style furniture upholstered in soothing tones of soft green, ginger and cream. Warm yellow walls are accented with black and white photos of classic Miami Beach Deco hotels. Wooden Venetian blinds add to the airy, tropical feeling.
The pool's nothing on that at The National - but who needs one ? The ocean's just acress the street ! Also...

Advantages: Great hotel, great location
Disadvantages: Not that cheap...
...the pool area that you can access Miami's marvelous South Beach itself. The beach concierge service (in the $12 per day "resort fee") provides chairs, towels, and drinks, and can arrange for massages and beauty treatments (at additional cost).
This "resort fee" is a bit of a rip off, I think, but did seem to be the norm in the several Florida hotels we stayed in. If it's mandatory, then it should be...
