Director Garry Marshall's 1988 drama Beaches about the 30-year friendship between two women, one wealthy (Barbara Hershey) and the other (Bette Midler) seeking her fortune in show business, is well written (based on the novel by Iris Rainer Dart) and nicely textured in its contrast between the characters' separate destinies. When Hershey becomes ill with cancer, the film takes a predictably sentimental course, yet Marshall brings out the best in both actresses and catches some very fine drama. I went to Zanzibar last year with the rest of my family where we stayed in the MAPENZI BEACH CLUB HOTEL (on the east coast) over Christmas. These 10 days spent in the sun where some of the most relaxeing and enjoyable of my life.

Van Cleef & Arpels missed the boat to Zanzibar!
Advantages: Quality raw materials and blending, long-lasting
Disadvantages: Unmemorable, unoriginal, lack of character and spices

While browsing through my miniature perfume collection, I've come across this now rare and almost forgotten men's eau de toilette, Zanzibar from Van Cleef & Arpels. As I love and have been to Zanzibar and an ardent fan of spices in fragrances, I've been thinking to have found a hidden gem.

Advantages: great story and perfomances
Disadvantages: a bit too long
...with both hands, but at the same time he remains realistic with the likelihood that the hope is unjustified. Dr. Julian Osborne is just totally the opposite and more selfish man who does not believe that the people in the north survived. He spends rather his last day drinking at his home on the beach, but he wants to impress his ex (the sister in law of Lt. Peter Holmes) so he goes anyway. He provides...
