...Walt Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST is definatly the all time best animated film that has ever been made. I can't think of another that could beat it. The story is off Belle, the girl who is different from the others. She refuses the advances of the local dim witted beefy hero Gaston in favour of true love and romance which she has only read about. She meets the Beast after going to her fathers rescue. He has been taken prisoner in an enchanted castle. Belle swops places with him and becomes the 'guest' of the beast. The castle is full of talking furniture, cutlery and crockery who put on a fantastic show by singing and dancing. While at the castle Belle grows to be very fond of the beast and everyone hopes she will love him before the petals fall off the magic rose so they can all become human again. ...With me and my son being big Disney fans and loving Beauty and the Beast we decided to buy this video. I wasn't sure whether or not this continued from the original film but it turns out to be another story altogether. There are some of the original characters Mrs Potts and Chip, Cogsworth and Lumiere as well as a whole new cast. It is Chirstmas time and Belle wants to decorate the castle with a tree and all its trimmings but the beast is very much against this (following a bad childhood). She asks all the others to help her and surprise the Beast, however Forte (evil pipe organ) over hears her plans and trys to put a stop to them and to keep the Beast as far away from Belle as he can. Belle gets into trouble once she goes looking for a tree as she has ignored the orders of the Beast and gone outside of the castles grounds. I did... Read review

...Okay i got a loan of this film from my cousin and when reading the back cover i wasn't so sure i would love this movie and much as other Disney movies like The Little Mermaid and The Jungle Book. The plot of the movie is a old woman comes to a castle one day and asks a young, handsome man to help her, him being selfish and unable to love tells her to go away, later that day the old lady puts a spell on the young man that he has to learn to love by his 21st birthday and by the time a rose given to him by the old lady wilts or he will be a beast forever, then a beautiful young woman with the name of Belle goes in search of her dad who on way to a inventors competition gets lost and finds this castle where a beast lives and holds him captive. ...I'm gonna receive negative thoughts about that statement, but think about it's competition, "Fantasia" gets dull and repeatative, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" sends a bad message about a woman's position in life, "Aladdin" had too much of poor humor....this is the ultimate in animated films, story, soundtrack, etc. The plot is: It starts off with a young prince, who was mean and selfish. An old lady came to his door and asked if he'd buy a rose from her, and he treated her very cruel. She then placed a curse on him and his entire castle, that they'd lose their true appearance, and wouldn't go away until someone fell in love with the prince, who had been turned into an ugly, fearul looking beast. ...Disneys film of Beauty and The Beast takes its story from the traditional tale of a young prince who after being cruel during his life is cursed by an old lady. The old lady gives him his hideous appearance and the curse would last until he was able to find someone who would fall in love with him. Meanwhile in a nearby town the beauty of the story, Belle, lives with her father. As well as being beautiful we see that Belle is a studious kindly girl. She is pursued by an overbearing local hunter called Gaston but she is certainly not attracted to him. Belles father is a bumbling kindly man who manages to get lost and taken prisoner in the beasts castle. ...This is an enchanting story, different but by no means worse than the book I remember as a child. Belle is the beautiful, only daughter of a slightly eccentric inventor, who loves reading books. Gaston is the vain, overbearing 'dreamboat' -admired by all the women in the village except Belle. When he is made to look a fool after Belle turns down his marriage proposal, he plots with the official of the local lunatic asylum to get Belle's father committed. In the meanwhile, having lost his way en route to an inventors fayre,Belle's father happens upon the Beast's castle (similar plot here, handsome prince turned into beast but all the household staff have also been turned into household objects). ...Beauty and the beast This animated movie tells the story of a young shy woman Belle who lives with her father in Paris. He is an inventor and the whole town thinks he's crazy. Gaston is the man of the town, very popular with the ladies - every man wants to be him and all women want to date him - type of man. He has a soft spot for Belle and wants to be with her, but when she ignores his advances he sets out to win her heart. When her father sets off to a inventors convention belle is left alone at home. As Belle sits at home alone Gaston pays her visit but she hides and runs down to the valley so she doesn't have to deal with him. And so, I've decided to write about another of my Disney favourites - Beauty and the Beast. **~~WHAT IS BEAUTY AND THE BEAST ALL ABOUT?~~** The story begins with a narrator explaining how an selfish prince got transformed into a Beast. An enchanted fairy had visited his castle disguised as a beggar women asking for a nights shelter. When he keeps turning her away, she shows her true self and although he begs her forgiveness, she changes him into a Beast and says that he will only turn back into a man when he can love someone and earn their love in return. She gives him a magic rose. If all the petals on the rose fall before he receives a true love's kiss, he will remain a beast forever. ...Beauty and the Beast has got to be my favourite Disney film of all time. Okay so I'm a big softie, I admit it. But don't you just love the innocence of Disney. Yes before anyone reminds me I know that Disney is meant for kids but then I'm just a big kid at heart :-) Now as this film is really meant for children (and I don't expect any children to be reading this lol) I have told the full story, which most people know anyway. So I'd just like to say that if you don't want to know how the story ends then don't read it, after all I wouldn't want to spoil it for anyone :-) The story begins by telling you how the prince was turned into the Beast, this happened when a beautiful enchantress came to the young princess castle looking for shelter disguised as an ugly old woman.
