Good eating in Great Yarmouth

Advantages: Cheap adn cheerful, vast menu, serves more than edible food, great staff, great clientele
Disadvantages: Toilet situation is a bit gross, drinks are expensive

...Getting stuck in Great Yarmouth during dinnertime my other half and I decided that we would venture down the sea front to get some dinner. Even though I have been to Yarmouth more times than I care to remember neither my other half nor I had ever eaten in the town so we were at a bit of a loss where to go. For those of you who have never been to Yarmouth the sea front is predominantly made up of arcades and restaurants so there was no shortage of places to try. With so much choice and no knowledge we decided to take a look at all menus, which are outside all the restaurants as a tool to pull people in. All the restaurants serve the same dishes at the same price so the only thing that sets them apart is the ?look? of the establishment. ...We have just returned from a week's holiday in Caister which is a small town 3 miles outside of Great Yarmouth and I thought I would share our experiences with you and give you an idea of what there is all to do round that area. I'm going to do this one in sections to make it easier and will try to cover everything from the shopping facilities to the pleasure beach as well as some of the attractions that are nearby too. Advantages: Great fun for whole family, loads to do and see.

great yarmouth at half term

...After having pondered what to do with the kids during half term week we had decided to book a long weekend in great yarmouth.we travelled down on friday 19th oct after having booked a three bedroom caravan at the popular hopton haven site which is around 3 miles out of yarmouth.The journey was good apart from the good old tractors which love to come on the raods at rush hour anyway back to the hols,when coming into yarmouth you begin to notice the flat marsh lands the surround both sides of the roads,and loads of windmills they are scattered all over. HOPTON HAVEN CARAVAN SITE im not one to be picky we got a good deal so i thought at less than £110 for the caravan for the weekend but i couldnt believe that for a silver rated caravan the only heating they had was in the living room,may i say it was so so cold at nights you woke up...

Fruit pie for breakfast? Yes, if you stay at Tuure B and B!

Advantages: A reasonable price for Finland, great breakfast, very clean and comfortable
Disadvantages: Rooms are quite small, lack of parking spaces may be a problem for some

...This bed and breakfast is situated close to the bus station and just five minutes walk from the very centre of town. We arrived in Turku by train and walked the route in ten minutes so the location is good yet still quiet. Look hard, it's not easy to spot. The doorway looks like all the doorways on the block which is full of shops and offices. There is an entry buzzer to let you in; once you check in you'll have a key for this door. The B and B is up a couple of flights and there's no lift. It's not too bad but people with mobility problems should be aware of this. We hadn't booked in advance but there was a room available. We were checked in without fuss and while the owner wasn't effusive she was friendly enough. The bedrooms are off the main corridor as are the shared shower rooms. Disadvantages: Confusing to drive around

...I've been living in Great Yarmouth for 13 years now, and have been driving for the past 5 years. Although I'm a driver, it's not often I drive around town. There's many 1 way roads, and drivers can easily get confused if they are new to the town. There is only 1 main way into Yarmouth, and that's on the A47, locally called the Acle Straight, because it is a long stretch of road. There are other, longer ways to get into town, but that will really take you round the houses! As you enter Yarmouth, you will see the new bridge on your right and a roundabout, which will take you into town and seafront etc. Although it can be difficult to find your way around Yarmouth if you are new to the town, everything is pretty much well sign posted.
