Beko A - Rated Frost Free Fridge/Freezer is "Bekonomical"

...Early Frost free freezers were a tad unreliable and overpriced, not any more though as most owners of this capable unit will agree, I have had my one for about 18 months and so far so good. It's about 6' tall and 2' wide (fridge at top), with a safety lockable water dispenser (that hasn't dripped yet) and both doors open from the left but can be reversed following the instructions given, the freezer is frost free so no more messy defrosting to do, the fridge is auto defrost (defrosted water drains through the fridge to a compartment on top of the motor and evaporates). The fridge part is quite roomy with 2 salad drawers (glass shelf over), bottle holder (removable) and two adjustable shelves in differing depths, it has a 10 egg holder and storage in the door for 2 x 4 pint milk bottles (2L bottles fit better), and other containers...

Beko Fridge Freezer

Advantages: Really good size and looks stylish
Disadvantages: Wine rack can be a bit awkward to organise around

...Due to an expanding family an upgrade on our old, small fridge freezer was long over due. We needed to find something that had a good internal capacity, both in the fridge and freezer departments, but would not completey dominate our kitchen. We also needed something that represented good value for money. After a good many hours searching on the internet I narrowed it down to a select few mostly in the Beko range, one of which was the Beko CDA660FS. This fridge freezer was one of the largest capacities I could find of its type and at a really reasonable price (I paid £360 + £20 delivery at Dixons online). There are others in the Beko range which are larger (CDA751FS) but the external dimensions were just too big for my kitchen (and extra 10cm wide!) We have had this fridge a few months now and are really pleased with the space...

Frost Free??

Advantages: it has a large capacity fridge and freezer, easy to use
Disadvantages: very heavy, iced up even though its frost free

...( we use 6 pint cartons ). The freezer is very large and you dont need to maintain it much, but you do need to switch it off approximately once a year to get rid of any ice buildup , yes - it does say frost free at the top , but in the time we have had it , it has needed to be switched off for 24 hours on two occasions. There is a handy tray for ice cubes etc. or you can take this out to get more room in the top drawer of the freezer (very handy for the christmas turkey). The drawers are smooth to open and close plus easily removed for cleaning. This model does not have the ability to control the temperature and there is no way of knowing what the exact temperature is , unless you have a very good thermometer. All in all, this is a good piece of kit to have in your kitchen. It is not so big that it wouldn't fit in...

Not watching your storage space disappear inch by inch is one of them. So is not having to eat everything in the freezer in order to defrost it. Being able to close the top compartment flap without the ice getting in the way is another. But how about frozen bread. You only want three or four slices but when you try and pull them off the rest of the loaf they snap in half. Not with our frost free they don't. And frozen veg. By the time you get two thirds of the way through the pack the bag is half full of stale frozen water. Not with the frost free. We thought that this machine was going to last us quite a few years. All you have to do is plug it in and just get on with your life. We have now had this fridge/freezer for 16 months. We had the engineer back within the first year 5 times as the thing stopped working, then the fridge started to thaw out and then started freezing, yes the fridge. We put a thermometer in there to check the fridge, and it went up to 10degrees C and down to -3 degrees C. We have now had the engineer out so many times now and we have lost count. ...which is easy to empty and clean. The capacity of the water dispenser isn't that large and it is a shame that it ins't plumbed into the water supply like the big American Style fridge fridges. With 4 small and 2 full width door shelves there is plenty of space for jars, juice cartons and eggs. The freezer has 3 large drawers and 1 shelf with a hinged door at the top. Built into the shelf, there is are two ice trays which a really simple to use. All you do is fill them as you would a normal ice tray and when the ice is ready you twist the handle and the ice cubes fall into a sliding tray. This makes it really easy for the kids to get ice for their drinks without ice cubes flying everywhere! Don't leave ice cubes on the tray too long as they tend to freeze to it and then you do get ice cubes flying everywhere! With nice rounded corners...

BEKO Fridge Freezer

...We bought this fridge freezer, thinking that common brand names were the best. We were wrong, although BEKO is not a well known name it was the only fridge freezer we could find within our budget that offered a same size freezer as the fridge in the colour we wanted. The fridge freezer is very sturdy and the freezer compartments are plenty big enough to fit loaves of bread, pizzas, joints of meat, etc. The fridge itself is spacious and has plenty of compartments and shelves to house everything. It does make a few whirring noises when the freezer fan is going, but you soon get used to that and you don't notice it after a while. An excellent appliance, would recommend to all....

Advantages: HUGE FRIDGE 'A' RATING FOR ECONOMY- GLASS SHELVES FOR EASY CLEANING AND NO SPILLS ONTO OTHER SHELVES - OPEN FREEZER FOR EASY ACCESS
Disadvantages: NO POWER LIGHT ON FRONT.....BUT THIS IS NOT REALLY A PROBLEM

...probably just as well...since they cancelled my initial delivery well into the afternoon of the delivery day and delivered 3 days later!! I decided to opt for a chest freezer and also a standard fridge/freezer (not frost-free) which together gave me double the freezer capacity of a frost-free fridge/freezer at around the same price. This made more sense to me as we've always struggled for room in our old fridge/freezer. There is no problem whatsoever with space in this fridge/freezer, in fact my husband said we'd never fill it.......I have to say I DID prove him wrong when Christmas arrived!! I currently have 4 x 2lt bottles of soft drink AND four bottles of wine stored on just one shelf!....in bottom shelf above the vege boxes. The fridge has 4 adjustable glass shelves (safety glass) which is great as any spills are contained...

...One of the selling points of this freezer is that it is frost free, and this was a very desirable feature because the one we had previously, needed defrosting constantly, 2 or 3 times a year. Which takes a lot of effort and a long time. So it was a welcomed feature in our house. After having the freezer for around 3 months, having no problems with it previously, it started to freeze up. There was ice running down the front of all the drawers, and every time one was opened, you had to snap through the ice on the front. Now that doesn't really seem frost free to me? This was a regular occurance, happening every day. Fortunately with most appliances/products like that there is usually a warranty or guarantee that protects you against things like that happening - faulty products and breakages. Our freezer was obviously a faulty product...

The best freezer I have ever had

Advantages: Plenty of room. No defrosting

...and was 11 cu.ft. The freezer compartment at the bottom had four extremely large drawers whilst the fridge on top had two salad compartments and three shelves which could be moved into different positions. One of the shelves also had a removable portion so you could stand large items up if necessary. The door itself had a bottom compartment for milk etc plus 6 other compartments for butter, eggs etc. The fridge freezer is in energy efficiency class C and has an energy consumptions of 493 kwh/year so is quite economical to use. It has a conservation time of 11 hours in cause of failure and to put the icing on the cake is Frost Free. This is brilliant - you can't imagine what a relief it is to never have to defrost the freezer. I also managed to buy the item on 9 months interest free credit. I have now had this fridge/freezer...
