Belfast International Airport
Advantages: Internet, Cheap car parking
Disadvantages: Can get boring after 18 hours
...Belfast International Airport (Belfast Aiport)
I flew out of belfast airport around four years ago, when I did fly out of the airport it was a bad time to fly out. The day before we where to depart to orlando the shoe bomber came on the scene! So the airport secuirty was put up. But the airline I was travelling with most of their planes had Technical difficuilties. So I was delayed for 30 hours and had to stay in the Hilton over night. So I should be able to tell you enough about it as I was in it for 24 hours.
Area...
The Belfast airport isn't in belfast, it is closer to Antrim a city near belfast. The airport is around 12 or 13 miles away from Belfast. So I don't know why they called it Belfast International Airport. But there is a hotel beside the airport. So if you have a early flight and you coudn't be bothered to get up...

Belfast City airport - the airport IN Belfast
Advantages: In Belfast, very much expanded, convenient
Disadvantages: Limited retail facilities
...Continuing my reviews of Northern Irish airports, I thought that I should add a new review to those on Belfast City airport, because, wow!, this place has improved.
Basically, a few years ago Belfast City airport really was not much to write home about. Now, it has majorly expanded. It still caters mainly to the domestic flights, but that is a major market for people from Northern Ireland, as we have to fly to get to most places! Easyjet is at Belfast International (Aldergrove), but there are some low cost flights into Belfast City (check out British European).
Belfast City airport is conveniently located in Belfast (its major selling point), and is easily reached by car. It is also (in my opinion) better served by public transport than Belfast International, if only because a taxi ride to any of the connections is not going to...

Ramada Belfast
Advantages: -
Disadvantages: -
...I stayed in the Ramada Hotel in Belfast and I must say that the experiance had its flaws and its charms. I normally stay in the Hilton or the Europa in Belfast if I ever decide to stay but because of the busy Valintines Day period I was unable to book a room in either of these hotels so I then decided to book a room with the Ramada.
The price of this hotel was reasonable, at £79 a night, I think that this is a great price for a hotel of this standard because compared to the Hilton thats rooms can cost up to £125 a night for a twin room this is a great price for a Friday night, though the Travel Lodge probably would have been cheaper if you decide to go away for lesiure reasons sometimes that hotel wont cut it.
The Room I received was clean, tidy and had lots of space in it, there were two double beds and it allowed smoking (as I...

Reaching the five million passengers' mark
Advantages: The hub for cheapest UK and European holiday flights like easyJet
Disadvantages: Not accessible by train and a little bit far from the city centre
...FLYING WITH EASYJET airline from Northern Ireland to any UK and European destinations is always through Belfast International Airport. BIA is one of the major airports in the Irish region that has recently reached a major milestone in its history by having catered to 5 million passengers for the past 12 months. Currently, it is serving 41 scheduled destinations with 26 European and transatlantic, and 15 domestic flights.
Comparing BIA with George Best Airport, it is unlikely the former is popular for European flights, aside for being easyJet's hub, it is also the home of Jet2, bmibaby, Continental airlines, Zoom airlines, Air Transat, Wizz Air, and Manx2. Moreover, most of its chartered holiday and few winter ski flights include Austria, Balearics, Bulgaria, Canada, Canada Islands, Croatia, Channel Islands, Cyprus, Greece, Italy...

Not as good as it used to be
Advantages: Selection of flights, Location
Disadvantages: Shopping prices, standard of food, security staff
...For my job, I need to visit Belfast four times a year usually for two to three days at a time. I used to travel by ferry but it was time consuming & quite expensive when you took a car with you. In recent years Easy Jet has been flying to Belfast from various locations on the mainland which is considerably cheaper & quicker.
There are two airports surrounding Belfast, the city airport (George Best Airport) is closest to the city but it's limited on who flies there & the international airport on the west side which is about 30 minutes driving time from the centre of the city. The international one is the most convenient for me because Easy jet fly there & my accommodation is close to the airport.
I have used this airport regularly for five years & until recently found it to be rather good but the review you're about to read is based...

Travelodge Belfast
Advantages: Cheap, very friendly staff, great location
Disadvantages: No luggage storage, basic room
...I stayed at the Travelodge Belfast in October 2007. The reason for a trip to Belfast was a concert to which I had received free tickets. I left booking the hotel til a couple of weeks before the concert and there wasn't a great deal of choice available.
We paid £79.00 for the room, I booked it on a site where I paid 10% deposit and paid the reaminder on arrival at the hotel.
We stayed on a Monday night, we got the bus from the airport to the Europa Bus Centre which is located in the city centre. We walked the short distance to the hotel (it is basically down a street and across the road - about 2 minutes walk). We found the hotel easily and were greeted by the receptionist who was very friendly and enthusiastic about the city and the concert we were attending. We were checked in quickly with no problems. The receptionist spent...

The Belfast Zoo
Advantages: Lots for people to see and do
Disadvantages: Quite hilly and wear something warm if not sunny as it is open to the elements
...The Belfast Zoo is set in the beautiful Cave hill area, from the top of the zoo there is such a view over the lough and Belfast. When you arrive at the zoo there is quite a steep approach and inside the zoo is quite hilly too which is not great for people with walking difficulties. There is an electric train which travels all the way round the zoo so you dont have to miss out. Prices our reasonable and disabled people go free.
The first things you encounter when you enter the zoo are a kids farm on the left hand side there kids can see a number of animals, donkeys, cows, goats, pigs and piglets snakes, bats, also in this area there are lemurs which run free it is wonderful for kids and adults alike.
Leave the farm and on your right there is a lake with beautiful flamingos and an island with spider monkeys, move a little further on and there is...

travelodge belfast
Advantages: cheap clean rooms
Disadvantages: quite basic
...When looking for somewhere to go for my hen night (or weekend as it turned out to be) I wanted somewhere cheap not just for me but for the others as well, as most of them are on budgets too. I scowered the internet and came up with two nights including flights with a well known budget airline for £90. Bargin we said and booked it. As we were a group booking I was unable to do this on the Travelodges website so I had to phone the main reservations up. This was a simple thing to do as my call was answered very quick and rooms booked all in approximatly 5 minutes. Then everything else was done via email such as booking forms, confirmations etc.
When we got to Belfast we took a taxi to the Travelodge on first impressions it seemed fine and the recepionist was very smiley. As we arrived in the morning our rooms weren't ready so we were...

Alicante Airport
Advantages: Good location, decent amenities
Disadvantages: Can't think of any
...I use Alicante airport for my annual break in Spain and find it is convenient and fairly easy to use.
It is situated just outside Alicante on the Costa Blanca, around 46.5km from Benidorm. It is within driving distance of Valencia, around two hours and 179km.
Arrivals
You would probably fly to Alicante if you were staying in Benidorm, Torrevieja, Altea, Calpe, Moraira or Teulada. It is popular with budget airlines such as Easyjet and Bmibaby and there are flights from many regional airports in the UK such as East Midlands, Liverpool, Bristol, Newcastle and Stansted to name a few.
There are around ten car hire companies who operate out of the airport including the big names like Avis, Europcar and Hertz, these desks are located in the arrivals hall and can get busy at peak times. There are also local car hire companies who...

chicago airport
Advantages: Gets me from A to b efficiently
Disadvantages: It's an airport!
...Chicago airport.
On a recent visit to san Diego, we had to have a stop in Chicago airport for a couple of hours...most of my travelling seems to be spent in airports!
It was the busiest airport in the United States until Atlanta became the busiest and it was apparently voted best airport in North America in 2000...that's 8 years ago so i don't know which airport has been winning since then.
The airport is 20 miles from downtown Chicago but since we weren't actaully going to Chicago we didn't actally leave the airport so I can't comment on the transport links.
**The Terminals**
Of course when stuck in an airport these are the places you see most often.
There are 4 terminals and strangely enough these are Terminals 1, 2, 3 and Terminal 5 which is the International Terminal...whatever happened to number 4?
All of the terminals are...
