An excellent monitor for the LCD-wary

Advantages: excellent viewing angles, great contrast, good colour, tiltable screen
Disadvantages: belinea's hot pixel policy, no calibration software

...The review below pertains to the 1000:1 contrast, 8ms *new* version of the Belinea 10 19 20, not the older 600:1 25ms one whose spec is listed above. Since LCD screens flooded in to dominate the monitor market, I've remained a steadfast CRT fan and LCD skeptic . LCD monitors I'd seen in shops were too contrasty, with shadows that went quickly to black and screens that changed colour and contrast dramatically depending on the viewing angle. Even when sat right in front of LCD monitors that I'd used, I'd noticed that a shift of my head or of position could alter the brightness and contrast of the picture. Not the best, then, for the viewing and post processing of photographs, which is what my monitor is used for mostly. However, when I needed a new monitor, and I was faced with the fact that there were hardly any CRTs left...

BUSH 27" WIDESCREEN LCD TV

Advantages: nice flat screen, sharp clear picture
Disadvantages: can the cat knock it over? not hd ready?

...end of line 27" widescreen lcd flat television and just had to buy it. The only trouble was, that being end of line meant that you could not order it for delivery, so I did a search of all my local stores until I found one and we reserved it for collection the next day. My husband came home with the tv, we unpacked it and installed it so easily, it was a dream. The Techinical description of this television in the Argos catalogue is Bush LCD27TV005 27in Widescreen LCD TV. The Argos order number is: 529/2150 and we paid £399.99. From what I have read online, this television was retailing at around £600 originially, but at the moment, all of the LCD televisions seem to be 26 or 30/32 inches, so it looks like they are phasing out the 27" ones. The television is silver in colour and the speakers are each end of the television...

Akura AH260 LCD

Advantages: Good picture, Widescreen, HD Ready, Wall Mountable and an assortment of connections.
Disadvantages: Remote control:slightly hit and miss but still works. HDMI connection would be useful.

...I bought this LCD tv roughly 2 years ago. I must admit I was quite skeptical over the manufacturer before I bought it, but it was a good price and had good features too. And I can comfortably say that this LCD tv has not let me down to this day! It has a good quality picture for both digital tv and games. It also supports the HD feature, though I have yet to use it. I am sure it would be more than adequate. The remote control is a standard remote control, slightly hit and miss, but works nonetheless. Although the tv doesn't have an HMDI connection it is always possible to get a HDMI to DVI converter or vice versa in order for it to work with the playstation 3 and other devices (It works with the current DVI connection, but other cables may be required). The tv is also wall mountable, and safe to say I have no problems with it being hung...

Save some space with this stylish 15" LCD TV!!

Advantages: Stylish, Light, Cheap, Good Size, Quality Sound & Vision
Disadvantages: Not suitable for use as a PC monitor

...I have not had a TV for last 4years! Can you believe this? Last week I have finally decided to get one. Since my bed-sit has not much of a space for a standrd size TV, I had to look for something that would fit onto my study table where I keep my laptop, CD player, phone and Homechoice Internet-Digital TV-Phone Box that requires a SCART socket in order to be compatible with TV... so.... My view on Belinea 102010 15 inch Monitors

Advantages: Not Expensive
Disadvantages: Re-fresh rate is not very high

...I have bought several Belinea monitors and have been fairly impressed. The screen is very clear for a budget model. The monitor controls are on-screen and they are a little confusing at first, but you soon get used to them. Everything you need is only a couple of presses away. The main problem I had, and it?s inexcusable really ? is that the manufacturer doesn?t supply a Windows driver disc to install the monitor. I had to download on from the Internet. I have noticed that these monitors are prone to flicker more than others that I have used. This may not be the general case though, so read other people?s views on this. Overall they are very good value and reliable. They also include a three-year on-site warranty, which shows how reliable the manufactures think the product is....

Venturing into the world of budget LCD televisions

Advantages: Easy to tune; clear, high quality picture, good sound
Disadvantages: None that I can see so far

Having looked at a number of flat panel TVs with screen sizes ranging from 15 to 32 inches, I decided to upgrade my normal screen size from 15 inches to 26 inches in order to provide that home cinema feel in a relatively small room. While large screens were also appealing, a combination of a tight budget (see above) and a small room with which the set would be located, forced my hand into the sub 32 inch category. Pictures accompany every stage, although it must be said that often there is not much text to back them up, the transferring of images to the harddisk being a good example, telling you what the filename will be and showing a picture of explorer, but not telling you to drag and drop the files over. In that example the camera is shown as removeable drive f (must be a cd writer in the pc used for the screenshot) yet the text tells us the camera will appear as drive E. So onto using the camera. Upon powering it up by holding the power button down for 3 seconds you are presented with a blue screen showing the mode the camera is in, be it manal photo, auto photo, playback, video, audio, or PC cam modes.
