If you want extra speed, then go for this
Review of Belkin patch cable - 6.1 m by
talonsco
Advantages: Good cable,
Disadvantages: Quite pricey
...Network cables are maybe not the first thing you think of when considering a network but they should be.
You can have a super fast router but if your cable isnt up to it, then why bother. Belkin are the standard setters in the network cable world. If you want top quality then you buy belkin. So if your considering sharing an internet connection to play games etc then you really need decent cable.
However, if like me you only share your connection for browsing and downloading, then you don't really need this kind of high quality cable. I personally have cable running that I bought for £2.14 for a 15m cable (that includes the connectors on the end). For internet browsing etc this is fine.
In conclusion, if you need speed and low ping times then belkin is the way to go. You can even use the snagless cable to allow easier running...

Network problem solver.
Review of Belkin Network adapter antenna by
willie96
Advantages: Saves moving furniture around.
Disadvantages: None
...A wireless network has recently been installed where I live and I was unable to connect to it using my Belkin F5D7000, without moving my PC into the middle of the room. I read up on how to improve network connection and the Belkin F5D6900 seemed like a reasonable option.
The Belkin F5D6900 is a small omni-directional antenna that comes fitted to a base, so it sits on your desk, and a 1 metre length of cable. Installing it is simplicity itself, as you only have to unscrew the antenna fitted to your network card and screw on the free end of the cable. It is then just a case of trial and error to find the best place to put the antenna. I was amazed to see how much difference the signal strength is affected by the positioning, considering the cable is only 1 metre long.
At the moment I have only got 42% signal strength but the nearest...

Review of Belkin N1 Wireless Modem Router - wireless router by
pgn0
Advantages: compact, good front-panel display, wall-mountable
Disadvantages: temperamental web interface, lots of virtual knobs, bells and whistles
...casing that has wall-mount holes, and claims to push super-fast wireless networking to a radius of 425m from the unit. And it comes with a Manufacturers Lifetime Warranty (sic).
Here's how I managed to get it going to accommodate my need to work from a room at the very opposite end of the house from where the ADSL connection was installed...
What you get for your money
-----------------------------------------
The silver-topped Belkin box looks attractive, with HIGH performance being the most obvious feature on the front. One side-panel gives you three easy steps to get you started - 1. Connect; 2. Configure; 3. Set Up. The other side-panel shows the technical specs, and the back panel explains clearly what's in the box, what it does and the way the unit communicates to you in blue (or amber if something's amiss!) icons what's happening...

Really not for a big house!
Review of Belkin ADSL2+ Modem with High-Speed Mode Wireless-G Router - wireless router by
kooldavy
Advantages: Easy setup of settings
Disadvantages: Range is very poor
...Last September I bought one of these wireless routers. After 1 day I sent it back.
Have you ever walked into a Computer Store like PC World and went to the Wireless Section? Well next time you do go to the Belkin section and see how many products have been sold. I was in PC World and on most boxes I found the label "Opened, Returned" or something like that. Basically Belkin mades really bad wireless products and I'll explain my experience now.
I bought the router unpackaged it, got all the settings setup, updated the firmware etc, fine everything worked I could access the internet etc but this was using a cable into the back of the router. So decided to go to wireless and test the range.
-In the same room I got full strength.
- In the hall Very Good Strength
- Another room about 10 feet away from router (between 2 walls) started...

BELKIN MAKES HOME NETWORKING A DODDLE
Review of Belkin Network Starter Kit by
cobnutty
Advantages: Very easy to install
Disadvantages: More back of PC wires to hide
...Thanks to Belkin, I am now the proud system administrator of a large number of PC's.... 2 to be precise!! I made my original purchase of the Belkin home network starter kit from PC World with disastrous results (please see my separate opinion for PC World)
The kit comprises of 2 10/100 Ethernet cards, 25ft of cable and all the software needed to make installation easy and painless. This includes Belkin 'Netshare' and Belkin 'Netsetup'. During installation I found it necessary to contact the company's product support help line due to the fact that I am sometimes a Pratt and occasionally find it difficult to read the simplest of instructions!! The technical support line was, for a change, a national telephone number and the call lasted only about 2 minutes. The person at the other end of the line was very human and promptly forwarded...

Review of Belkin USB 2.0 Hi-speed PCI Card by
Longshanx
Advantages: Speed and number of available ports
Disadvantages: Occupies one PCI slot, no USB2.0 driver yet!?
....0 driver yet! I ask you, what on earth were they thinking? Surely you can't go round claiming that the device supports USB 2.0 when clearly it doesn't (yet)?
The advice in the user manual suggests that you keep an eye on their website, but what if you had bought the card for a PC that doesn't have internet access?
Well, never mind, I'm sure Belkin will come up with a driver soon. Overall, I'm pleased as punch with the card - it is already paying for itself in terms of saved time and reliability.
Oh, and the price? I paid a shade under 50 GBP at the jungle website.
Update 27.10.2002: The card is still working fine, and the USB 2.0 drivers are now available from the Belkin website....

kelr101
Advantages: Quick Installation, Colour co-oridinated, Fast Speeds
Disadvantages: Price Varied
...to your requirements and colours, i.e. red, blue, black, green and yellow.
For example at PC World you will be able to purchase the following FastCAT5e cables from Belkin
· 25ft (7.6M) £14.99
· 14ft (4.2M) £11.99
· 3ft (0.9M) £8.99
However if you are looking to use a CAT5e cable of longer length or for external requirements I recommend you contact a dedicated cable supplier, such as Universal Networks to ensure the suitability and safety of your product.
*Conclusion*
For a home user the Belkin FastCAT5e fulfils all the necessary requirements. Data, voice and video are flawlessly transmitted at high speeds, and the installation process is generally very easy. The network cable is ideal for file sharing and for broadband sharing, whilst maintaining speed and reliability, and the product is designed with manoeuvrability in mind with its...

Great Belkin USB product
Review of Belkin Pro Series USB Extension Cable USB extender by
Rubeenio
Advantages: gives you an extra 1.8 meters on any USB product
Disadvantages: none
...that could connect my headset to the computer and let me use it, and this is what I did.
I trudged down to my local PC world and paid a little money for a 1.8 meter Belkin Pro Series USB Extension Cable and was very very happy with it when I got home. It is very well made with a nice thick rubber protective rapping over the wire inside so unless you cut it with a knife its not going to be damaged if you full on it a little or even a allot. It supports all standard USB ports with its well made male plug (the bit that goes into the computer) and on the other end of the cable has a nice thick female port (the bit that you will stick your USB device in) I have had no problems with this cable at all, it doesn't suffer from any lag and because it has a thick cable it doesn't snap or damage if you catch it with you feet while its laying on the floor...

fast LAN
Review of Belkin patch cable - 2 m by
grimworld
Advantages: fast, allows shared broadband, different lengths, cheap
Disadvantages: none
...its bright red!
Since its a Belkin it also has their life time warranty so if it should ever have a malfunction they will replace it for free, this is always good to know.
The price of this item isnt that much i paid £15 for mine from p.c world though some cost more and some cost less all depends on the bandwith of the cable and the length.
You can buy this product from places such as p.c world and dixions,
or try
www.freewebs.com/myshoppingmall here there is a link to dixions and p.c world so happy shopping...
