What a Beltin' Belkin Router!!
Review of Belkin ADSL2+ Modem with High-Speed Mode Wireless-G Router - wireless router by
mattyprice4004
Advantages: Great wireless range, Futureproof, Nice looking, Fast!
Disadvantages: Some may say it looks a little chunky
...The Belkin first struck me as a bit odd, really. Alongside it in the local PC shop were simpleton designs from companies such as 3COM and DLink for £80-£90, then there was the lovely-looking and future-proof Belkin for £69. Confused? So was I.
Anyway, as you would expect, I took the Belkin to it's new home on a dusty shelf in my room. It was a simple case of Plug and Play really (Not Plug and Pray as with so many other routers). Within 5 minutes of opening the box I was happily browsing the Web, with the router sat happily flashing it's little lights at me from accross the room.
And thats it really - To this day the router lives - and I have had it for 9 months and counting. Not ONE other router has made it past the 3 month mark (I don't know why either).
I have a home-based Web server, and the Belkin makes light work of forwarding...

A good, solid investment with a couple of niggles
Review of Belkin ADSL Modem with Wireless-G Router and Wireless G USB Network Adapter - wireless router by
sosull
Advantages: Reliable, easy to setup and use, small footprint.
Disadvantages: Gets very got through constant use, wireless adapter software can be annoying at times
...The Belkin ADSL Modem Wireless-G Wireless Router was the first wireless router I owned. It materialized in my home due to the sheer distance of my computer from the phone socket and running an RJ11 phone cable across the house was not a viable option. The router came with a thin but multilingual instruction leaflet which outlined the initial un-boxing and setup but it really could have been more concise. Nevertheless, initial setup was easy enough and I didn't experience any issues.
I had one Ethernet connected computer but I did set up everything first with a wireless computer using the supplied Wireless G USB adapter. The adapter works very well, is good and stable but the supplied Belkin adapter software is fiddly to use and can be confusing.
The router control panel is simple to navigate and offers a lot of options to configure...

Unmitigated garbage
Review of Belkin ADSL2+ Modem with Wireless G+ MIMO Router - wireless router by
gvincent3000
Advantages: Make a good Paper weight
Disadvantages: Drops Connection, Poor coverage
...After Unpacking This router, the supplied DSL Filter was DOA requiring me to spend $20 to purchase another one.
The Setup Interface is very poor, Slow and Clumsy. Manual is hard to understand. Signal range is pathetic, i receive a stronger signal from my neighbors d-link router in the House next door than this router placed directly upstairs. Frequently drops internet connection. Requires constant reboots, sometimes three times a day. password has been set to prevent unauthorized access to the setup page but the router still allows any one access without a password prompt. Investigating other reviews of all of the different belkin products, this is not uncommon and serious questions need to be asked why a company is allowed to get away with making such trash....

Good, solid router.
Review of Belkin ADSL2+ Modem with High-Speed Mode Wireless-G Router - wireless router by
Honest.John
Advantages: Good price, good range, trusted manufacturer, easy to use software.
Disadvantages: Sometimes needs to be re-booted.
...I changed from a Netgear wireless router (still working fine at my mums house) to this Belkin ADSL 2+ about 9 months ago. The main reason for the change was because my Netgear router just wasn't powerful enough to work on my laptop when I was in some of the rooms downstairs. This is not a problem with the Belkin and I tend to get good or excellent coverage in most rooms in my house.
The Belkin also came with a USB receiver which works well on my desktop PC.
The User Interface (UI) that comes with the Belkin is straightforward to use and it can be secured quite easily and quickly once connected. I personally prefer the Netgear UI, although not enough to worry about too much.
I occasionally find myself having to unplug then power up the router so that my laptop can find it OK. I do not know why this is, but I had similar issues...

Cheap and cheerful!
Review of Buffalo AirStation WYR-G54 - wireless router by
mattgray_uk
Advantages: Price, Fairly Small, Easy Setup
Disadvantages: Not very stylish
...I bought this router as a replacement for a Belkin router which had expired. I was looking for a fairly cheap reliable router for connecting my laptop to my home ntl cable connection. So far I have not been dissapointed.
You really can't complain for the price. It does the same job as more expensive models, is a breeze to set up and has both WEP and WPA security. I have also found the connection to be more reliable than my old Belkin router. (Particularly noticable when playing online poker where my old router would keep disconnecting).
One thing to note is that this unit is only a router and does not include any kind of modem. You will need a seperate modem with an ethernet connection. (e.g. NTL 100 cable modem). If you have an ADSL connection then you would probably be better going for a router with a built in ADSL modem...

Not a router i would recommend
Review of Belkin High-Speed Mode Wireless G Router wireless router by
abacus1983
Advantages: Cheap. easy Installation
Disadvantages: Everything Else
...I have owned this Belkin Router for nearly 15 months now, So far I have found this router to be not to my liking.
The installation was very easy as it comes with a CD containing an easy set up wizard which was very helpful and got my network up and running within 10 minutes, this was the best bit of the whole package.
The Router looks very standard; it is a plain dull grey colour with two black aerials sticking out the back.
The power supply that comes with it is also very large and a bit of a pain to hide out of view, The router itself on the other hand is very light and easily moveable but doesn’t look like it would last a 2ft fall to the floor, So I would recommend it as a durable router.
I have one cable plugged from my Modem into the back of the router and another cable from my PC to the back of the router, So the internet runs...

Really not for a big house!
Review of Belkin ADSL2+ Modem with High-Speed Mode Wireless-G Router - wireless router by
kooldavy
Advantages: Easy setup of settings
Disadvantages: Range is very poor
...Last September I bought one of these wireless routers. After 1 day I sent it back.
Have you ever walked into a Computer Store like PC World and went to the Wireless Section? Well next time you do go to the Belkin section and see how many products have been sold. I was in PC World and on most boxes I found the label "Opened, Returned" or something like that. Basically Belkin mades really bad wireless products and I'll explain my experience now.
I bought the router unpackaged it, got all the settings setup, updated the firmware etc, fine everything worked I could access the internet etc but this was using a cable into the back of the router. So decided to go to wireless and test the range.
-In the same room I got full strength.
- In the hall Very Good Strength
- Another room about 10 feet away from router (between 2 walls) started...

Connect Me!
Review of Belkin Wireless G Router F5D7230-4 - wireless router by
mjawales
Advantages: Easy setup, very good performance.
Disadvantages: sparse Web site support
...The first good aspect of this router is its support of the quicker 802.11g products. The Belkin 54g wireless cable/DSL gateway router is competitively priced but its easy installation, good range, and perfect compatibility with old and new data radios put the router at one of the best around. Add in a built-in firewall, a lifetime warranty, and a six-month subscription to a versatile Web-filtering program for parents, and you have a great all-around solution for distributing Internet access, audio, and video throughout a home or a small office.
Setup is very easy. Simply open the box and read the three-minute setup for the 54g wireless cable/DSL gateway router. This is no joke, as it took exactly 2 minutes and 45 seconds and i had a fully operational 802.11g wireless network with four wired Ethernet ports. As amazing as it sounds, it...

Belkin Wireless Router gets top marks
Review of Belkin Wireless G Router F5D7230-4 - wireless router by
craggybuk
Advantages: Self configurable, Web interface, Free Lifetime support, ease of use
Disadvantages: None
...switch it off overnight. I have found that I need to make sure my cable modem is switched on before the router else sometimes it has problems connecting to the internet. I have tested the range out on my PDA just for experimental purposes. I have no problem browsing the internet from the bottom of my garden and I have also taken the PDA 75 metres up the road and still been able to connect to the router.
I have also used the router for internal connections allowing me to access files on another of my PCs from the main one and vice versa.
-Helpdesk support-
I have had to phone the free Belkin support a couple of times, both when upgrading the firmware. The support technicians at the other end of the line have proved to be friendly and knowledgeable on both occasions and resulted in my getting up and running again in a short time. All...

Belkin G+ Mimo wireless router
Review of Belkin Wireless G Plus MIMO Router wireless router by
fbxiii
Advantages: Wireless with 4 wired ports. Good range and speed.
Disadvantages: Seems to be a bit unstable when playing games
...I recently bought this router along with a new wireless enabled laptop (Toshiba A210-17I). I opted for this model as it also includes 4 wired ports (I play my Xbox 360 online and prefer it to be 'hard wired'. The unit is nice and light and looks smart in its silvery grey colour. It has two antenna's and is G+ Mimo, which basically means it is slightly faster and has a better range than a normal G+ router. My internet connection is upstairs and I have no problem connecting anywhere within the house (its too cold to try outside :). Installation and set up of the router was simple and easy to follow instructions are provided to assist in doing this. Basically, attach the router to the modem, then run the set up disc and hey presto! you are connected! Maintenance/settings of the router is carried out by entering the IP address...
