Great Multimedia Wireless Router from Belkin

Advantages: Reliable, Fast, Easy to configure, Lots of features, USB for sharing drives
Disadvantages: Bit expensive, Not full speed with every machine

...INTRO The Belkin N+ router is one of the higher end (consumer) wireless modem router offerings from Belkin. It cost me £85 from PC World, but can probably be found for a bit less if you shop online. The Cable version costs a little less. Reason I bought this one was because two PCs in the house with wireless cards kept losing the wireless connection when I was using a Linksys router (my own PCs / laptops were fine though!). I replaced that with a second hand Belkin, which worked fine but unfortunately, a power cut killed the wireless on it. Belkin Wireless G Router

Advantages: Works very well 3 floors up.
Disadvantages: If you are on Vista, takes a costly telephone call to get you connected.

...We bought this wireless router as my son wanted to use his Wii on the internet. His room is on the 3rd floor and the computer and router are on the ground floor. It was simple to set up and the instructions were good, however, because we are using Windows Vista, nothing is ever straight forward. With one longish phone call to India, via the number on the instructions to ring, everything was sorted out. The phone call took 35 minutes for which I am sure i was charged a fortune for and there is no way I could have worked it out for myself, it was far too complicated to get this router to work on Vista. Once it was working though everything has gone smoothly. I do find that the internet is somewhat slower however he has a great connection on the 3rd floor and we have no complaints. This router comes in both cable and ADSL versions so anybody on any of the normal ISPs should be fine to use one of them, dependant on what internet they are being provided, ours is a cable one. Linksys's Lightning fast wireless router

Advantages: Fast speeds, Reliable, Stylish
Disadvantages: I had wireless problems, Gets a bit warm, no restart router option in config

...the wireless connection despite the signal strength being excellent. This resulted in a lot of whinging from my parents and a lot of head scratching by myself. I've tried several USB dongles to try to resolve this problem to no avail. These include a Netgear Wireless N RangeMax USB dongle, a Linksys Wireless N USB dongle and even a Negear PCI 54G wireless card. The machines are only about 7 metres from the router with just one wall with a window so not sure why. Interference en-route? Switching to a Belkin wireless router resolved the problem so I?m suspecting the Belkin performs better than the Linksys, which is a shame for the Linksys. Belkin G+ Mimo wireless router

Advantages: Wireless with 4 wired ports. Good range and speed.
Disadvantages: Seems to be a bit unstable when playing games

I opted for this model as it also includes 4 wired ports (I play my Xbox 360 online and prefer it to be 'hard wired'. The unit is nice and light and looks smart in its silvery grey colour. It has two antenna's and is G+ Mimo, which basically means it is slightly faster and has a better range than a normal G+ router. My internet connection is upstairs and I have no problem connecting anywhere within the house (its too cold to try outside :). Buffalo WBMR-G54 wireless router - a real buffalo?

...I bought this router from a local Argos shop at an emergency situation i.e. I want it now and therefore not at the best price - 49.99. Reason: My all singing and all dancing Dynamode R-ADSL-C4W-EG - wireless router had lost its main function, 'internet connectivity' after a month or so of continuous use (see my other review, now updated, for details). All is left is wireless communication i.e. useless. The return of this router back to Amazon caused me a week (lots of emails + recorded delivery + check that the refund includes the recorded delivery etc) For Argos, there is an obvious advantage - if there is something wrong with it, I just take it back for a refund/replacement on the same day.
