Previously a big issue for wireless networks, some bright spark figured out that if you could bring all the seperately bouncing signals together and 'patch' them back together you might be able to get a complete signal where previuosly you just had broken bits. This DOES work quite well though best results are with matched adapters and routers so figure in buying replacement adapters when considering the cost of this router. N1 - the latest wireless protocal is 802.11N, this is still NOT official, but everyone (including Belkin) was bringing out 'Pre-N' kit which, in general wouldn't talk to other manufacturers. I decided that it would be nice to have wireless to save us having to restrict our surfing to the study (box bedroom) and a router would be preferable as this would make connecting my Apple Mac laptop easier, so off I went to PC world. I shall comment on these as I have no experience of how the router performs with a Radius Server. 64 and 128 WEP and WPA-PSK all work without issue on the 3 Belkin wireless cards, 1 Pro Link and 2 un-branded cards I currently have in use with this router. ...I did a lot of research into routers before jumping onto the wireless bandwagon and eventually plumped for the Belkin and I am more than happy with my purchase. The Belkin was by far the cheapest router at the time (I paid £50 in 2005) compared to most other models which were on average £20 more expensive for what I could see, was the same functionality. ...I recently had the misfortune of having to swap my cable wireless router, I say misfortune as the last time I had to do it it took me nearly three days to get everything back up and running the way it was before, so when my Linksys router decide to stop functioning you can imagine my dismay. ...Recently I bought a new PC and wireless laptop and it soon became apparent I would need a router in order to utilise the functions of the wireless laptop. I was already happily using broadband by way of a USB modem so I understood I would need to purchase a combined ADSL Modem with built in wireless router. After a visit to PC World, I ended up buying the Belkin ADSL Modem with Built-In Wireless Router (F5D7630uk4A). The price of this was £89.99. The reason I bought the Belkin product above the others was firstly because the sales assistant recommended it and also I have used Belkin products before at work and found them to do the job perfectly well. The Belkin High Speed Mode Wireless G Router has a 125 high speed mode which is a massive 35% faster then a typical 54g modem which is what most of the other makes and main brands had on offer. So i purchased this modem and went and got started straight away.
