Belkin ADSL2+ High-Speed Mode Wireless-G Router
Advantages: Very stable, good speed
Disadvantages: Not a pretty boy, yet to get remote admin working
...Anywhere, SMTP, VPN and Webserver forwarding from the routers pre-configured drop-down list. You can also specify your own mappings if required, although I have not tested this.
Wireless Security
This router supports 64 and 128 WEP, WPA-PSK and WPA (Radius Server) encryption. Only the former 3 levels will be of interest to most people. I shall comment on these as I have no experience of how the router performs with a Radius Server.
64 and 128 WEP and WPA-PSK all work without issue on the 3 Belkin wireless cards, 1 Pro Link and 2 un-branded cards I currently have in use with this router.
I have not noticed any drastic fluctuations in performance in using either 64 and 128 WEP and WPA-PSK.
Personally I always use the highest level of encryption available and drop back if there are compatibility/performance issues in a mixed...

Belting Belkin Router!
Advantages: Fairly easy to set up, easy to use, reliable, looks good.
Disadvantages: Bandwidth Innacurate.
...; from the photos I'd seen of it, I'd always assumed it to be small (I should have really looked and found out the dimensions but I was so desperate to get it ordered as there was only one left in stock that I never bothered) but it's no problem really, just a surprise and I thought I should mention it to you as you may also be considering it and thinking it's a really small router.
This router comes in both cable and ADSL versions so anybody on any of the normal ISPs should be fine to use one of them, dependant on what internet they are being provided, ours is a cable one. The router is a wireless N1 which means that the data transfer rate is up to 300mps over the network instead of up to 54mps which is what you get with standard Wireless G technology. It also has a wide coverage area which means that if you want to go and use your laptop...

What a Beltin' Belkin Router!!
Advantages: Great wireless range, Futureproof, Nice looking, Fast!
Disadvantages: Some may say it looks a little chunky
...of forwarding all the correct ports and making sure all aspects of the setup are working.
The Wireless range of the Belkin surprised me - I was 3 houses down the road from mine with my laptop at a friend's house, and as soon as Windows booted up the laptop got a 'Good' strength signal from the router! This is quite worrying, mainly due to the fact my old DLink router would freak out if you went more than 15-20 feet away from it. Signals would drop out, packets would get lost and Web pages would half load.
Setting up the ADSL connection is also very easy with the Belkin router. Simply plug the router in, turn it on, connect your PC to it and tap 192.168.2.1 in to Internet Explorer to bring up the first Setup page. And, err, that's all there is to it.
The router's ability to connect to ADSL-2 when the service goes mainstream is also a big plus...

Belkin Wireless G Router
Advantages: Works very well 3 floors up.
Disadvantages: If you are on Vista, takes a costly telephone call to get you connected.
...We bought this wireless router as my son wanted to use his Wii on the internet. His room is on the 3rd floor and the computer and router are on the ground floor.
It was simple to set up and the instructions were good, however, because we are using Windows Vista, nothing is ever straight forward. With one longish phone call to India, via the number on the instructions to ring, everything was sorted out. The phone call took 35 minutes for which I am sure i was charged a fortune for and there is no way I could have worked it out for myself, it was far too complicated to get this router to work on Vista.
Once it was working though everything has gone smoothly. I do find that the internet is somewhat slower however he has a great connection on the 3rd floor and we have no complaints. Although the initial set up was frustrating...

Great Multimedia Wireless Router from Belkin
Advantages: Reliable, Fast, Easy to configure, Lots of features, USB for sharing drives
Disadvantages: Bit expensive, Not full speed with every machine
...of features and even a USB port for sharing files on drives
- Lifetime manufacturer's warranty!
CONS
- Too sensitive to power cuts
- A bit expensive
- Not full speed on my laptop despite it having a Wireless N network card
VERDICT
This is one of the best routers I've ever used and it hasn't given me any grief until I had a power cut, which pretty much broke it. However, it survived a further 2-3 power cuts so maybe it was a one off. It is a bit on the expensive side but not as much as business routers. There is another router from Belkin that costs even more than this one but that one tells you your broadband speed and other stuff on a display on the router itself, how cool is that? As for this Belkin N+ modem router, it has all the features you could need and more unless you need VPN (connects you to a network securely over...

Belkin F5D 7632-4 Wireless Rouer
Advantages: When it works, it is brilliant!
Disadvantages: When it doesn't , it inspires computer rage!!!!
...wireless router according to the setup instructions. You plug the leads in and switch the power on.
In the case of belkin, they provide a CD-Rom with a comprehensive set up and toubleshooting information guide.
I would prefer a decent handook personally, because you really need to print dozens of pages of information out, so at you can see the installation window on your computer and read the instructions at the same time. Otherwise you end up becoming confused.
Belkin refer you to a website. You open your internet explorer
and type in the followng address:- 192.168.2.1. This will direct you to the Belkin website, from which you can can effectively configure your router.
Once accessing the site, you log in,where you are prompted to do so. You are guided to a SET UP WIZARD. This will help you configure your machine fairly...

Buffalo WBMR-G54 wireless router - a real buffalo?
Advantages: Reasonable price, easy to use, lots of advanced settings
Disadvantages: installation firewall issue, signal strengh only reasonable
...I bought this router from a local Argos shop at an emergency situation i.e. I want it now and therefore not at the best price - 49.99.
Reason: My all singing and all dancing Dynamode R-ADSL-C4W-EG - wireless router had lost its main function, 'internet connectivity' after a month or so of continuous use (see my other review, now updated, for details). All is left is wireless communication i.e. useless. The return of this router back to Amazon caused me a week (lots of emails + recorded delivery + check that the refund includes the recorded delivery etc)
For Argos, there is an obvious advantage - if there is something wrong with it, I just take it back for a refund/replacement on the same day.
This router comes with detail instructions (step-by-step) for installation however it does not cater for the presence of a firewall...
