Advantages: Cheap, connects to routers of all types I have tried
Disadvantages: Breaks easily, driver problems in Vista

...a customer helpline, however I do know from expatriate just how bad belkins customer service is. Also after trying this on my laptop, which actually has wireless built into it, the wireless adapter still worked just as good as the laptops already built in wireless did. Altogether this is a good little wireless adapter, it works well and doesn’t look too bad on a desktop, also its cheap too, and was the cheapest when I bought it, so if your looking for one then this would certainly be a good buy....

I paid £19.99 for the adaptor in PC world who only had Belkin at the time which I thought was not expensive. However installing it was a nightmare. The 3 easy steps on the box seemed so easy; Install the software, plug the adaptor into a USB PORT - start networking! If only it was that simple. Every time my computer searched for a network it crashed. I phoned the Belkin company who took me step by step through the technical part and still we could not get internet. Eventually the Belkin assistant told my for some reason my computer was not recognising the new network. Being increasingly frustrated I considered taking the adaptor back for a refund...

I purchased the first one after suffering months of problems with an intermittent broadband connection using an extension cable. Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter A must for all Gamers

...If you enjoy playing online on your xbox 360 and your router is not easily accessible with wires then you should seriously consder getting yourself a wireless adapter. The Adapter cost around £50-£60 which I think is ridiculously over priced for what is simply a wireless adapter which generally cost aroud £10, but seeing as it is the only option for wireless gaming on the Xbox 360 then if you really want wireless it is your only option. The adapter was very easy to set up. You simply click it into place at the back of the Xbox 360 and plug the usb plug into the port, and adjust the aerial to face upwards for maximum range. ...The xbox 360 wireless adapter is essentially, exactly what it says on the tine, it is only required as a neccesity to get onto xbox live in a place usin a wireless network, microsfot have seized on this opportunity to charge over the odds for a small piece of plastic , retailing in the region of £60 , especially when you consider the nintendo Wii has a wireless adapter built in. As a product, the adapter is easy to install, clipping onto the back of the console, reliable and discreet, offering flawless online gameplay as if it were connected via ethernet cable. The only downside to this is the price and i for one feel it should be included in the console package to fully compete with other consoles...

...i got one of these because i didn't want wires everywhere in our house. when i first put it in it wouldn'tt connect up to my wireless router(linksys). i called up a help line and they said that they had no idea how to fix it so i ended up having to buy a new one (netgear). with this it works well most of them time but if it doesn't always work. i think that may be down to the router but it may be the adapter. anyway it works most the time pretty well. i think it is ridiculously over priced thought. When i got it it was £60. but i needed it because i didn't want a load of wires around the house. i thnk they are fairly good and work most of the time but are over priced....

Belkins wireless wonder

Advantages: easy set up, quick connection, outstanding range
Disadvantages: im worried i might sit on it

...my router is 63 feet away from my pc and in the way is 2 plaster walls and 3 concrete walls, and im a storey up. im on 128kbps connection and i download at around 45kbps, so hey cant complain. i found this hardware easy to install, and im not the greatest of tech-heads. everything was well explained and within minutes (would have been seconds but my CD drives dodgy) my pc was "aquiring the network address" and i was connected. my singal is low, but considering the distance, the belkins done me proud, and for the last 8 months its kept me online with out fail. with all USB dongles, theyre plastic, and to me seem easy to break, so ive got a permanent paranoia of it being unplugged and me sitting on it, it doesent look a sturdy piece of kit, but with proper care, this situation wont arise. for best performance this piece...
