Reviews of belkin wireless g+ usb adapter
A good, solid investment with a couple of niggles
Review of Belkin ADSL Modem with Wireless-G Router and Wireless G USB Network Adapter - wireless router by
sosull
Advantages: Reliable, easy to setup and use, small footprint.
Disadvantages: Gets very got through constant use, wireless adapter software can be annoying at times
...The Belkin ADSL Modem Wireless-G Wireless Router was the first wireless router I owned. It materialized in my home due to the sheer distance of my computer from the phone socket and running an RJ11 phone cable across the house was not a viable option. The router came with a thin but multilingual instruction leaflet which outlined the initial un-boxing and setup but it really could have been more concise. Nevertheless, initial setup was easy enough and I didn't experience any issues.
I had one Ethernet connected computer but I did set up everything first with a wireless computer using the supplied Wireless G USB adapter. The adapter works very well, is good and stable but the supplied Belkin adapter software is fiddly to use and can be confusing.
The router control panel is simple to navigate and offers a lot of options to configure...

Belkin Wireless USB adaptor
Review of Belkin Wireless G USB Network Adapter Network adapter by
craggybuk
Advantages: Simple to set up and use
Disadvantages: Software is not the greatest
...I bought this USB network adaptor for my son when he still had his Windows 98 machine as the PCI card that I reviewed previously was too advanced for his hardware. This USB adapter was bought to connect to my Belkin wireless router meaning that I now had a wireless network consisting only of Belkin hardware.
--Whats in the box--
On opening the box, there were no real surprises. There was the USB adapter, a stand which would allow you to place the adapter on your desk if you didnt want to have it plugged directly into the back of your PC, the antenna, a quick installation guide and a CD which contained the drivers and a full manual.
--Installation--
On reading the quick installation guide, it was apparent that the software had to be installed before the adapter was plugged in. The reason for this was because, when the hardware...

Belkin Wireless G Notebook Card
Review of Belkin Wireless G Plus Notebook Card Network adapter by
D4DDYF
Advantages: Wireless Internet
Disadvantages: None
...The Belkin Wireless Notebook Card is a good product. the card is only for LAPTOPS not for computers. the good thing about this product is that just say your in your bedroom or in your kitcen or maybe in your garden you can use the internet without any wires and no hassle at all. but you have to remember you need to have a belkin wireless internet network to make this product work for your laptop. I have my very own Belkin Wireless G Notebook card and it runs as fast as when i use to have an ethernet connection i.e. cable internet connection. When i bought my newtwork card it cost me £25.00 but on ciao they are giving you a really good price for it so i recommend buying the product. if you have any questions please let me know and i will be at assistance
Hope I Was Useful

ok WIRELESS router
Review of Belkin Wireless G Router F5D7230-4 - wireless router by
djbrookes
Advantages: Good range, good price, easy setup
Disadvantages: Prone to faults, belkin update service.
....
After a phone call to Belkin they told me i needed to update the firmware. I tried to to use the belkin configuration tool to do this as the tech told me to but could not as for some reason the updater kept downloading an incompatible file. I phoned belkin again and they simply kept saying i must not have my location setup correctly and this is why it is downloading the U.S files. I am in the U.K and have the location set to....wait for it... UK!
This was very frustrating and after multiple phone calls and emails i decided to simply give up on getting it to work while both the wireless and wired ports were in use and have had to purchase a wireless usb adapter for my pc meaning i am using wi-fi from my pc to the router (distance: about 2ft).
Since i have purchased the adapter and stopped using the built in wired ports i have had no problems...

Good hardware, badly designed software
Review of Belkin Wireless G USB Network Adapter Network adapter by
orrin31
Advantages: Good range, fast downloads
Disadvantages: Slow connections, software
...I use the Belkin USB wireless network adapter for my old laptop so my wife and I can use the internet, share files and print documents. The laptop only has USB1.1 so I wasn’t too sure plugging in a USB2.0 wireless device would be a good idea, but after installing the software and plugging in the device into the laptop, then setting it up to access my router - it worked fine. I even got a fast download speed.
A few days later, my wife tried to use the laptop, which already switched with my profile. She logged me out and clicked on her own profile to access the internet to check her email. It didn’t work. She complained to me that I had done something wrong, but after looking at it using my profile it worked fine. It turned out the Belkin software would only work on one profile at a time – how useless is that?
Too make matters worse, when...

Little wireless receiver
Review of Belkin Wireless High Speed Mode USB Adapter Network adapter by
greatmum1
Advantages: Good connectivity
Disadvantages: none significant
...We recently changed from wired connection to wireless Broadband after much debate. The demand for computer use, sharing of computer time was becoming a big hassle and going wireless and networking the main PC and Laptops seemed to be a viable solution.
Belkin Wireless High Speed Mode USB Adapter Network adapter connects with a PC or Laptop to pick up signals sent by a Wireless router. This network adapter is external and will fit into (plugged to) a USB 2.0 port.
Many broadband providers will supply a free router (or a router at a subsidised price), but with a Router but you will need a networking card or an adapter to go wireless.
The manufacturer of Belkin USB network adapter gives the Data Transfer Rate: 54 Mbps and this is seen as the speed most of the time. If you wish to have higher speed- wireless is not an option use USB...

Send and recieve files the Bluetooth way!
Review of Belkin Bluetooth USB Adapter by
m_lucas11
Advantages: small enough to be left in the computer ready for use.
Disadvantages: May give slow connection depending on pairing product.
...The Belkin bluetooth USB adapter is a must have if you have a bluetooth enabled phone that you regularly link up to a computer in order to transfer files. Instead of the use of unsightly cables to link up your bluetooth enabled products to the computer, this enables you to link them up through a wireless bluetooth connection. The Belkin bluetooth USB adapter is small enough to be placed in a rear USB port of a computer and left there so that it is ready to use whenever you require it. The transfer sending speed is quite fast however depending on the recieving speed of the bluetooth enabled products that you use this with, the speed may be a little slower. This is not the fault of the Belkin bluetooth USB adapter but rather the product recieving the signal as it is harder to recieve bluetooth signals then send them. The recieving speed...

Belkin wireless G USB Network Adaptor
Review of Belkin Wireless G USB Network Adapter Network adapter by
Chosen
Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: Not enough information on software or packaging.
...I recently bought a Belkin wireless adaptor when I went into a house share and needed to have the internet. I use the internet but I know little about the technical side of things. I paid £19.99 for the adaptor in PC world who only had Belkin at the time which I thought was not expensive. However installing it was a nightmare.
The 3 easy steps on the box seemed so easy; Install the software, plug the adaptor into a USB PORT - start networking! If only it was that simple. Every time my computer searched for a network it crashed. I phoned the Belkin company who took me step by step through the technical part and still we could not get internet. Eventually the Belkin assistant told my for some reason my computer was not recognising the new network. Being increasingly frustrated I considered taking the adaptor back for a refund...

Finds a signal anywhere...
Review of Belkin Wireless G Plus MIMO USB Adapter Network adapter by
dc6118
Advantages: Very good range, useful extension, stylish
Disadvantages: Heats up quite a bit
...I bought this last year to access the new wireless router in the upstairs hall of my block of flats, and although the signal was very weak, the adapter generally managed to find a signal and function normally, whereas a friends laptop was incapable of doing so from the same position. This was about 10 metres from the router, down a floor and through several walls so I am quite impressed. I currently use it in my home, again a floor away, this time through two sets of double glazing and a wall, and it still finds a signal. The USB extension cradle is very useful, allowing adjustment to find a good signal. Sometimes gets quite heated when left on for a time, but not a real problem. A very good product, although not too cheap....

Budget wireless card
Review of Belkin Wireless G Desktop Card F5D7000 by
plastik
Advantages: Cheap, fairly fast, and useable
Disadvantages: Poor reliability, poor installation method, and lacks WPA and WPA-PSK support
...There are a huge number of PCI WiFi cards out there, so it's often hard to tell which are the better buys; the better value, the better quality and the better functionality. Does the Belkin 54Mbps Wireless PCI card
The first, and probably only advantage of this wireless adapter is the fact that it has a PCI interface rather than USB 2.0. This means less clutter on your PC desk, more free ports, and normally means a higher quality product. It supports 802.11b and g, so there are few issues of network compatibility, except security, which I'll come on to. Unfortunately, the device does not deal well with obstacles of many kinds. Walls, pipes in walls, microwaves and halogen lightbulbs cause a drop in performance; noticeably more than in other similar devices. Even without such barriers, it still occassionally cuts out. It is incompatible...
