...I recently bought a Belkin wireless adaptor when I went into a house share and needed to have the internet. I use the internet but I know little about the technical side of things. I paid £19.99 for the adaptor in PC world who only had Belkin at the time which I thought was not expensive. However installing it was a nightmare. The 3 easy steps on the box seemed so easy; Install the software, plug the adaptor into a USB PORT - start networking! If only it was that simple. Every time my computer searched for a network it crashed. I phoned the Belkin company who took me step by step through the technical part and still we could not get internet. Advantages: Wireless connectivity - Supplied with stand - Fast data transfer - Good Price

...to go. The software is supplied on a cd and installed without a hitch. When prompted to do so I connected the adapter stand to the USB port and plugged the adapter into this. Windows detected the adapter and the headaches began. Firstly, the stand is not heavy enough to hold the adapter upright, I have now stuck mine to the desk with blu-tac. Secondly, the software was indicating that no network could be found. In order for the adapter to detect the router and the network I had to plug the router back into the extension cable. This defeated the whole point of buying the adapter in the first place. Once this was done I followed the instructions for my router to switch over to a wireless connection, but that software could not find an internet connection. This in fairness was down to my own lack of knowledge as I had not set...

This can plug into your pc or laptop 2 different ways, firstly it can plug in much like a usb memory stick and just the stick itself can go straight into a usb port on your laptop or pc. So as I like ciao, clearly I like the internet but the company I work for will not allow its staff to have phone lines put in to the staff accomodation as we're all on mobile contracts and can be moved at anytime, so getting online is something of a challenge when the accomoation is separate from the business building itself. But when the accomodation is in the same building as the business you can take advantage of the wi-fi put in for the use of the customers (soldiers, saliors, airmen). ...The xbox 360 wireless adapter is essentially, exactly what it says on the tine, it is only required as a neccesity to get onto xbox live in a place usin a wireless network, microsfot have seized on this opportunity to charge over the odds for a small piece of plastic , retailing in the region of £60 , especially when you consider the nintendo Wii has a wireless adapter built in. As a product, the adapter is easy to install, clipping onto the back of the console, reliable and discreet, offering flawless online gameplay as if it were connected via ethernet cable. The only downside to this is the price and i for one feel it should be included in the console package to fully compete with other consoles...

...i got one of these because i didn't want wires everywhere in our house. when i first put it in it wouldn'tt connect up to my wireless router(linksys). i called up a help line and they said that they had no idea how to fix it so i ended up having to buy a new one (netgear). with this it works well most of them time but if it doesn't always work. i think that may be down to the router but it may be the adapter. anyway it works most the time pretty well. i think it is ridiculously over priced thought. When i got it it was £60. but i needed it because i didn't want a load of wires around the house. i thnk they are fairly good and work most of the time but are over priced....

The Adapter cost around £50-£60 which I think is ridiculously over priced for what is simply a wireless adapter which generally cost aroud £10, but seeing as it is the only option for wireless gaming on the Xbox 360 then if you really want wireless it is your only option. Belkins wireless wonder

...my router is 63 feet away from my pc and in the way is 2 plaster walls and 3 concrete walls, and im a storey up. im on 128kbps connection and i download at around 45kbps, so hey cant complain. i found this hardware easy to install, and im not the greatest of tech-heads. everything was well explained and within minutes (would have been seconds but my CD drives dodgy) my pc was "aquiring the network address" and i was connected. my singal is low, but considering the distance, the belkins done me proud, and for the last 8 months its kept me online with out fail. with all USB dongles, theyre plastic, and to me seem easy to break, so ive got a permanent paranoia of it being unplugged and me sitting on it, it doesent look a sturdy piece of kit, but with proper care, this situation wont arise. for best performance this piece...
