The Wireless range of the Belkin surprised me - I was 3 houses down the road from mine with my laptop at a friend's house, and as soon as Windows booted up the laptop got a 'Good' strength signal from the router! This is quite worrying, mainly due to the fact my old DLink router would freak out if you went more than 15-20 feet away from it. Signals would drop out, packets would get lost and Web pages would half load. Setting up the ADSL connection is also very easy with the Belkin router. Simply plug the router in, turn it on, connect your PC to it and tap 192.168.2.1 in to Internet Explorer to bring up the first Setup page. And, err, that's all there is to it. ...The Belkin ADSL Modem Wireless-G Wireless Router was the first wireless router I owned. It materialized in my home due to the sheer distance of my computer from the phone socket and running an RJ11 phone cable across the house was not a viable option. The router came with a thin but multilingual instruction leaflet which outlined the initial un-boxing and setup but it really could have been more concise. Nevertheless, initial setup was easy enough and I didn't experience any issues. I had one Ethernet connected computer but I did set up everything first with a wireless computer using the supplied Wireless G USB adapter. The adapter works very well, is good and stable but the supplied Belkin adapter software is fiddly to use and can be confusing. ...I changed from a Netgear wireless router (still working fine at my mums house) to this Belkin ADSL 2+ about 9 months ago. The main reason for the change was because my Netgear router just wasn't powerful enough to work on my laptop when I was in some of the rooms downstairs. This is not a problem with the Belkin and I tend to get good or excellent coverage in most rooms in my house. The Belkin also came with a USB receiver which works well on my desktop PC. The User Interface (UI) that comes with the Belkin is straightforward to use and it can be secured quite easily and quickly once connected. I personally prefer the Netgear UI, although not enough to worry about too much. I occasionally find myself having to unplug then power up the router so that my laptop can find it OK. ...I bought the Belkin range of products so I could setup a wi-fi network at home. I have the Belkin 54g Router and also have a Belkin 11g card in my desktop at home, so with this set-up successfully I bought the 54g notebook card for my laptop. All were fairly easy to setup but I imagine it could be tricky if you have no networking knowledge. So all installed and ready to go. My laptop has never been the same since. I manage to work for between 10 - 60 mins then it's crash time, computer screen just freezes! This happens around 5 - 10 times a day something that never happened prior to the installation of this card. So technical support i thought, wrong! After waiting for around 45 mins on the dedicated support line I ended up putting the phone down. Email them. So i emailed them with my problem. Around 4 days later I get... Read review

...After Unpacking This router, the supplied DSL Filter was DOA requiring me to spend $20 to purchase another one. The Setup Interface is very poor, Slow and Clumsy. Manual is hard to understand. Signal range is pathetic, i receive a stronger signal from my neighbors d-link router in the House next door than this router placed directly upstairs. Frequently drops internet connection. Requires constant reboots, sometimes three times a day. password has been set to prevent unauthorized access to the setup page but the router still allows any one access without a password prompt. Investigating other reviews of all of the different belkin products, this is not uncommon and serious questions need to be asked why a company is allowed to get away with making such trash.... .... After a phone call to Belkin they told me i needed to update the firmware. I tried to to use the belkin configuration tool to do this as the tech told me to but could not as for some reason the updater kept downloading an incompatible file. I phoned belkin again and they simply kept saying i must not have my location setup correctly and this is why it is downloading the U.S files. I am in the U.K and have the location set to....wait for it... UK! This was very frustrating and after multiple phone calls and emails i decided to simply give up on getting it to work while both the wireless and wired ports were in use and have had to purchase a wireless usb adapter for my pc meaning i am using wi-fi from my pc to the router (distance: about 2ft). Since i have purchased the adapter and stopped using the built in wired ports i have had no problems... Read review

...Last September I bought one of these wireless routers. After 1 day I sent it back. Have you ever walked into a Computer Store like PC World and went to the Wireless Section? Well next time you do go to the Belkin section and see how many products have been sold. I was in PC World and on most boxes I found the label "Opened, Returned" or something like that. Basically Belkin mades really bad wireless products and I'll explain my experience now. I bought the router unpackaged it, got all the settings setup,updated the firmware etc, fine everything worked I could access the internet etc but this was using a cable into the back of the router. So decided to go to wireless and test the range. -In the same room I got full strength. - In the hall Very Good Strength - Another room about 10 feet away from router (between 2 walls) started... ...We bought this wireless router as my son wanted to use his Wii on the internet. His room is on the 3rd floor and the computer and router are on the ground floor. It was simple to set up and the instructions were good, however, because we are using Windows Vista, nothing is ever straight forward. With one longish phone call to India, via the number on the instructions to ring, everything was sorted out. The phone call took 35 minutes for which I am sure i was charged a fortune for and there is no way I could have worked it out for myself, it was far too complicated to get this router to work on Vista. Once it was working though everything has gone smoothly. I do find that the internet is somewhat slower however he has a great connection on the 3rd floor and we have no complaints.
