Kill Or Be Replaced
Advantages: Some cracking gunfights
Disadvantages: Nothing new or original
...Remember those brainless yet enjoyable eighties action fests that involved pointing and firing guns that never ran out of ammo and cars that ramdomly exploded when they got shot up or crashed? Yes? No? Approaching toward the ninties we still had dumb action flicks but we also had more sophisticated films out there to view and enjoy. Slowly but surely, the action flick where one seemingly bulletproof hero up against hundreds of trained evil badmen dried up and were replaced with action films with a little more substance in the storyline. In a sea of current slasher films and melodramas screaming for oscar recognition, it's a relief to see the more action driven cliched ventures again. Some of course are complete tosh, but "The Replacement Killers" is certainly above average.
The seemingly bulletproof hero in this case is kung fu...

Hip Replacement.
Advantages: Increased mobility and relief from long term pain.
Disadvantages: The implants only last 10 years.
...Sorry folks but this is another medical review, I don't want to become too well known for these but on the other hand there was no category for this and hence no advice for me to look up before I went into hospital recently for this operation, so first of all thanks to the Ciao Proposal Team for getting this sorted out so quickly for me, roughly 24 hours is good going considering your so busy. The only problem was I had not got it all onto my wordpad yet but I got there.
I have tried to keep this review as clear and free from too many technical terms because half of them are only understood by members of the medical profession and that is not what this is for, this is intended to help people who are going to be having a Hip Replacement. I am hoping that this will provide some answers and ease worries, not just for the person...

Knee Replacement Surgery.
Advantages: Gives you a new lease of life free from chronic pain.
Disadvantages: The implants may need replacing meaning more surgery.
...First of all I am surprised this category has not been filled and as I have actually had Knee Replacement surgery more or less a year ago now, they took it back when I had my leg amputated but I did have it done. Me being me of course I thought what the heck I am resting in hospital after my Hip Replacement so what better time and place is there for me to write some help and advice for anyone else facing this kind of surgery.
I have already written about my knee in a previous review but this one is very different I assure you. They say that time makes you think of things differently and I have to agree, I also wanted to have this advice in this category so that it is easy to find for anyone who needs it.
One other thing I have to mention is that my operation was done by the N.H.S and I had a 2 year wait.
I do not agree...

Benq
Advantages: Comes with a lot of useful software
Disadvantages: none
...The Benq Dwq1600 ia a robust DVD rewriter, which comes complete with software and plenty of built in technology disigned to ensure correct playing of unlevel DVDS and CDS.
The software you get free is WinDVD Creator 2.8B, Win DVD4.0B, Record now! 7.1, Sonic DLA 4.9.
I did find there to be a few problems with this drive, For a start it is only compatible with DVD+RW and DVD+R standards, there is no headphone outlet or volume control.
** The Overall Design **
The DW1600 has a standard specification, with a fairly fast speed on both single layer and dual-layer discs.

Benq Joybook Review
Advantages: Battery Life, Portability, Performance
Disadvantages: Could be zippier
...included are a VGA out, and S-video out to connect to your TV.
As this PC is aimed towards office/student use, the inbuilt video card is an onboard Intel Variety, offering substantial performance in windows. It utilises shared memory so gaming is a little out of the question. The sound card is quite reasonable, offering neat stereo sound via front mounted speakers, as well as mic/headphone ports.
The general look and feel of this Laptop is excellent, with stylish silver plastic, and chromed buttons. Blue LED's for status lights certainly add to the effect, and at 2.4Kg it is quite a light PC to carry around. Benq is even kind enough to include a simple Polypropene (Think Wetsuit material) Slim Case for a little extra protection on the road.
The included software is excellent, Windows XP Professional, NTI-CD Maker, Cyberlink DVD Viewer...

Awesome BenQ 1920x1080 Full HD Monitor!
Advantages: 2ms, HDMI, Full HD 1080p
Disadvantages: The exterior of the monitor is a bit glossy.
...I bought the E2400HD 8 months ago and have loved it since the day I received it. I ordered it online and it came in three days later. It came in a standard brown BenQ box with the monitor, the stand, D-Sub, power cable, and an installation CD/manual. I bought it through a friend?s advice as he had bought the E2400HD when it first hit the shelves, and he has been telling me about how awesome it is ever since! It is hard not to agree with him, because the monitor just performs at a superb level and quality for the price range that it is competing in!
The E2400HD would be what I?d like to call a multi-media/functional desktop/laptop peripheral display. It comes with HDMI and DVI support, and is loaded with 1080p (16:9 display or also known as 1920x1080), which gives the monitor a very beautiful bright and crisp display. Blu ray works...

ThankQ BenQ!
Advantages: Very cheap, very reliable, you probably wont run out for a long time!
Disadvantages: Can get damaged quite easily, no CD-cases to protect them
...Intro
Recordable and re-writable CD's are one of the most popular forms of storage nowadays for computers, and this is no doubt down to the inevitable gradual-distinction of floppy disks, and the slump in prices for CDs. Nobody seems to use floppy disks anymore, they are too unreliable and can hardly fit any data too (1.44 MB usually) and when you compare this to the 700MB or so that CD's can hold, you can see why these are more popular. CD's can last over a hundred years too (according to the BenQ website) - if they are kept in the perfect conditions.
Where I got them & price
I decided to purchase these BenQ CD-R's as I felt that 100disks which hold 700MB, for only £10, is a really good price. This works out at about 10p per CD, which isn't bad at all! It sounds ridiculous that you can pay a couple of quid for a few floppy...

Benq D60 - high-quality compact
Advantages: Small, versatile, 6mp; allows manual over-rides, good quality lens and images
Disadvantages: complex menu system. Non-standard batteries - short life; watch the price
...I have had this camera for over 3 years now - I am a semi-pro film photogrpher and want to take a step into the digital world. This camera is an ideal replacement for a compact camera, PROVIDED the user is happy to fiddle with the buttons! Compared to most compact cameras, these are of reasonable size and are intuitive to use as the options menu is not too full.
The lens and, subsequently, the images are VERY good, and the zoom is smooth; the digital zoom is hard to use smoothly though - far better to use this in the software on your PC. Really, you would NOT want to use this feature - fortunately, it can be turned off in the menu system.
The battery lasts for only about 60 shots -so it is always better to carry a spare and they are not easy to obtain - the Benq site failed to reply to my questions in any meaningful way - I...

BENQ DC1300: FLASHY LITTLE NUMBER!
Advantages: Small, light, attractive, inexpensive
Disadvantages: Camera shake, hard to use at first
...from 35mm camera usually) from the top resolution setting on the camera (the lower settings, of which there are a further 5 levels, aren't that great though).
It is very small at about 85x55x25mm. To put that in context it is roughly the size of a 1.5cm thick credit card (the extra 10mm is the projection of the lens). It is also again very light. The makers website tells me it is 62g with batteries which i've not bothered to check but it weighs about the same as a smallish mobile phone like a Siemens A50. All in all its pretty portable to say the least and slips in a shirt pocket easily.
It has three focus settings: landscape, close up and a text reading setting that can 'scan text into a computer'. This last setting is not that great to be fair as at that close you can't 'scan' an A4 page so its no replacement for a scanner but if...

BenQ - The new Sony
Advantages: Looks good, Fast, Cheap, Great graphics
Disadvantages: Flimsy feel, not enough RAM
...BenQ? Had you heard of them a few months ago? Well I hadn’t. BenQ are new to Europe although they are well established in the Middle East. If you hadn’t heard of them before Euro 2004 you must do now! When I saw this laptop for an insanely low price a few months ago I was a little skeptical, but after days of research I couldn’t find anything to compete with it, and became more confident about BenQs reputation. So I went ahead and bought it, and I can honestly say this was the best thing I have ever spent £850 on!
The laptop comes with the Centrino 1.4Ghz which is approximately equivalent to the P4 2.2Ghz, with the benefits of greatly increased battery life. BenQs quoted life of 6h is not far off from the actual 5 hours that you get from the battery. It also comes with all the standard bits: DVD/CD-RW drive, 256Mb...
