The Best & Worse Places In The UK
Advantages: I wrote it!
Disadvantages: No biscuits ;o(
...Being moi and being different I decided to do a list of 10 places to go, and 10 places not to go. I have also explained my reasons why.
These are in no particular order as I hate doing things in order of best/worst.
10 Places To Avoid.
1) Middlesbrough, Cleveland - What a dive, I lived in the Boro for 2-3 years. Middlesbrough town centre as a shopping area is great however there are loads of beggars and smack heads everywhere. The night time life is ok too, but again a lot of loud mouthed gits trying to prove who is the loudest Middlesbrough resident, walking round the streets throwing up all over the place. Few can get away without a tongue lashing on a night out if they come from the South. "wat ya sayin like" is a common heard expression. The thing with the majority of inhabitants they are not as hard as they like...

Best-ival Place!
Advantages: Great shops, all indoors, cinema and restaurants too, cheap car park, easy to get to
Disadvantages: None
...enough, it is a great place to go for anything you can think of, and the best thing is that you can shop in the warm and dry, especially in this freezing winter weather!
The main shopping centre is open from 9am to 8pm Monday to Friday, 9am-6pm on Saturdays, and 11am to 5pm on Sundays. Christmas opening times can be found on the website, as well as a full store guide, downloadable map, travel information, car park charges as well as news and promotions available in-store. If you are thinking about a visit to Festival Place, I would definitely recommend a visit to the website, www.festivalplace.co.uk before you go to get an idea of what to expect when you get there.

10 PLACES I MISS.
Advantages: They make memories.
Disadvantages: The cost of getting there.
...evening, because when you look across the bay in the early evening and the seaside is reflected against a setting sun, the earth turns a wonderful shade of orange and is beautiful to see. The surrounding area is of outstanding beauty and to walk along the shore here is a real pleasure, treading sand between the toes or travelling higher up into the surrounding hills where the views are superb. Lynton and Lynmouth are situated in North Devon and are amongst the places I stop when visiting England, because the natural beauty is timeless.
WOOLACOMBE
Woolacombe is my idea of England as I remember it at its best. Rugged coves, walks through the cliffs down to where the sea hits against jagged rocks. This is the wilder side of England at its best and I camped here as a child, and going back was like going home.
There are many little cafes...

Trading Places
Advantages: great fun for all the family
Disadvantages: none
...Director: John Landis.
Producers: George Folsey Jr, Aaron Russo, Irwin Russon and Sam Williams.
Writers: Timothy Harris and Herchel Weingrod
Stars: Dan Aykroyd, Eddie Murphy, Jamie Lee Curtis, Ralph Bellamy, Denholm Elliott and Don Ameche.
Released in 1983 this comedy, starring the excellent Eddie Murphy, relies on the greed of humanity to bring onto the big screen a somewhat hilarious movie.
**BRIEF PLOT**
When Mortimer Duke, (played by Don Ameche) and his brother Randolph, (played by Ralph Bellamy) decide to place a rather strange wager to quench their boredom they don't care about the consequences to the victims involved.
The wager comes to light when the brothers quarrel about how peoples backgrounds are what makes their futures.
With their loyal and long time employee Louis Winthorpe the 3rd, (played by Dan...

Where the Lost Things Go? A Place Called Here . . .
Advantages: Hearing the 'authentic' Irish Accent; the abridging makes the story less meandering
Disadvantages: Some of the incidental plot nuances are lost in the abridging; have to change discs.
...I must confess that I was bought the Paperback version of this book first . . . my husband bought a "Best Seller" at the library that was being sold off for 50p and I read it the same night. It was one 'off the wall' book which really struck a chord with me, as my husband often 'tears the house apart" looking for something he mislays; and sometimes it doesn't turn up at all . . . . Or I am looking for a particular CD or Cassette, and I can find the case ~ but it is empty ~ Where HAVE all the lost things gone? Well, it's A Place Called Here according to this book by Dublin-born Cecelia Ahern. She's got some wacky theories, but this one is pretty amazing!
.
I really did want to hear this in the "original tongue" (Oirr-ish*) as it were, though, and having an Amazon voucher to spend, I couldn't resist buying the audio version...

Take your Break at Wake(hurst Place)
Advantages: Beautiful
Disadvantages: Gift shop expensive
...The other weekend my family and I had a day out and as the weather was nice we decided to visit Wakehurst Place. Wakehurst Place is a National Trust property in West Sussex and is also a part of Kew gardens (despite the distance!). The site is home to an old family house, wonderful extensive gardens, quarries, and even the new Millenium Seed Bank project. Wakehurst Place was a bit of a drive away from where I live (over an hour) but I'd recommend making the effort to get there even if you don't live very close because there's so much to see.
~~Admission~~
My parents are National Trust members, so they got in free, but not so for the rest of us. However, the entry prices really aren't that bad considering what you get for the money. Admission was £9, but they offer special deals for different size groups and it's free...

Would you like to trade places
Advantages: Funny, intelligent comedy
Disadvantages: They don't make them like this anymore
...This is one of my comfort films - the sort I put on when I'm not feeling very well. I have loved this film for years and it's always a pleasure to watch whenever it is on the television. The premise of John Landis' Trading Places (1983) is simple - do we get where we are through breeding or circumstance? Trading Places examines this issue in quite an exaggerated way but none the less is does make you think (in amongst the odd giggle) about what if life was different. The film doesn't even try to examine this idea in a clever or complicated way. You wouldn't hear anyone discussing this film and saying "ah but what the film is really about is" or "but this scene represented this idea" it rolls its sleeves up and gets right to the point.
I will try not to give too much away but set in Philadelphia in the run up to Christmas...

The BEST online auction market place?
Advantages: The best way to advertise and sell your products on the internet, Shop from your computer chair, Sell those useless items that you no longer need or use.
Disadvantages: Time wasters, Fee's, Risks, Ebay staff removing your auctions without any good reason.
...In reply to the question above the answer has to be yes and no. This is based solely on my personal experience of EBay.
I use the .co.uk site as this offers more items then and post to locations than any of the other EBay websites.
If you want to fall asleep no I would as this might take you about 30 minutes to read and digest.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WHAT IS EBAY? For those of you who don?t know, EBay is one of the largest online auctions websites in the world with over 3 Million listings per day. If you wish to buy or sell on eBay you can. You can also do both if you wanted to.
WHAT IS THE SITE LAYOUT LIKE? The website layout is one of the best features. It?s easy to use for new users. Like any other website...

SIMPLY THE BEST?
Advantages: Easily readable, light, non-intellectual, aimed at the more mature woman
Disadvantages: A tad old fashioned, but perhaps I am too?
...Yes, I?ll admit it! I?ve been reading rather a lot of magazines lately. Mainly by virtue of the fact that I went to Scotland for a week in August and travelled by train. It?s a five hour journey and whilst I can quite easily get my head stuck into a good book for such a duration, I do find that the density of the text combined with the motion of the train, makes me feel sick after a while. So, magazines, with their colours and layouts make a good alternative. That?s my excuse anyway.
One of the magazines that I picked up was ?best?. Whilst doing a little research for this review, I was surprised to discover that this publication has been around since 1987. Apparently, it is aimed at female readers between the ages of 25-55, but has a median reader age of 40. Heh, that?s me! Certainly, as I flicked through it I was pleasantly...

HSBC- The best place to bank!
Advantages: Great choice of accounts, helpful friendly staff
Disadvantages: None that spring to mind
...I have a number of accounts with HSBC including two bank accounts and two savings accounts... and hopefully soon a mortgage.
In the past I have banked with Natwest, Nationwide and Northern Rock. I also have a range of other accounts in other places such as ISA's and a mortgage with RBS. I am telling you this to show that I have had experience with other banks and building societys.
I find it easy to say that banking with HSBC I have had the best possible experience. I find the service both in the bank and using online banking to be easy and efficient and completly stress free. I must admit that I also had this experience with Nationwide, but the difference I have found with HSBC is that there is a larger variety of choice and types of accounts to meet the individual need.
I have a normal bank account with HSBC and also bank...
