Best Western Hotel Piccadilly Rome

Advantages: Clean, friendly, good location, good value
Disadvantages: None - perhaps not luxurious enough for some

...Have just come back from 3 nights at this hotel. The room was quite large with a 6ft bed and all the facilities that you may want. Had a big mirror, wardrobe, safe box, minibar, telephone, flatscreen tv, and lots of surfaces. It had an ensuite which again was perfectly clean and roomy - more than sufficient. There was nothing luxurious about the room, but it was plenty big enough, had all the facilities we wanted, was clean and well-kept, and generally of a very good standard. The breakfast is included in the price - the food wasn't top quality but plenty good enough. They provide a good range of food and teas and coffees. It is served in a dining room that overlooks the city, and it is done nicely, with small tables, and decorated with lots of flowers. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and even helped to tape my broken...

Want to Roam around Rome? - Stay Here!

Advantages: Location, Price and Staff
Disadvantages: Nothing, It is what it is!

...I recently went on a trip to Rome, my first trip in fact to Italy, I love culture and history so this city was a must on my list. Oh and it's the year of the 'I' - the year in which I visit countries beginning with I, so far I've been, Ireland, Iceland and now Italy. Location ********* The Clarin Hotel is a 2 star hotel situated in Via Palermo, a street central to the city centre although on the Eastern side, and approximately a 5 minute walk from Termini Station and a 10-12 minute walk to the Coliseum and many other attractions. I would recommend getting the train from the airport (either of them) to Termini Station as the hotel is 2 roads away from the station, and as long as your case has wheels or bag isn't heavy you'll be fine walking it. How, where and why to book ******************************** I ended up...

HOTEL IMPERO, ROME - GREAT BASE TO EXPLORE

Advantages: LOCATION
Disadvantages: Bar shuts too early

...Hi and thankyou for your interest in my review. I have worked in the Travel industry for over 20 years now and thought It would be nice to share my experiences and thoughts. I do hope this review is helpful and would appreciate a rating at the end. Well then lets get started. *********COST********** This is always my favourite place to start !!!! Well this hotel is in my opinion an average cost for a 3* hotel inRome at about £105 per room per night including breakfast. I know you can definately get cheaper priced hotels but I was happy with this cost for what you get (all will be revealed). *************LOCATION************ I have to say that the Hotel Impero is in a super location, in a lovely leafy area. I would best descibe the location as right in the centre of the historical art city of Rome, overlooking the Roman Opera...

Excellent Central Rome Hotel

Advantages: Central, cheap, clean,
Disadvantages: holiday was too short!!

...Recently, me and my girlfriend visited Rome. As we were only in Rome for 4 nights we wanted somewhere central so we could see all the sights and do all the touristy bits. We eventually decided on Valle hotel and we are glad we did. ::: Why the Valle Hotel? ::: There are a number of reasons why we chose Valle. The first was that it was central, about 5minutes walk from the main train station (Stazione Termini) from there you can catch a bus to anywhere in the city, or get the metro or a train to other local towns or further afield if you wish. ::: The Hotel::: It is a relatively small hotel with only 40 rooms. There is a welcoming foyer, with a reception desk manned 24/7. There is also a little bar. The rooms are fairly modern, comfortable and very pleasant. All rooms are en-suite. The rooms were clean and inviting. All...

Hotel Villa Patrizi, Rome

Advantages: Good location, good value for money, polite staff
Disadvantages: Small rooms

...~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Why we chose the hotel ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My boyfriend and I decided to take a weekend city break in Rome, we were joined by his parents who travelled seperately. We looked on Expedia for a good deal and we found one with reasonable BA flights and 3 nights stay at Hotel Villa Patrizi. We looked at the information and pictures of the hotel on the internet and it looked good so we decided to book it. Now we have been to the hotel, and looking back at the pictures, they are true to life and do not decieve you in anyway that the hotel looks different to what it does. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ About the hotel ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hotel Villa Patrizi is a brand new 4 star hotel located in Rome. As you walk into the hotel there is a pretty sitting area full of beautiful, lively and colourful flowers. If the weather was nicer...

When In Rome...

Advantages: Fantastic location, brilliant service, immaculate
Disadvantages: It is pricey, but then, Rome is generally pricey

...Recently the boyfriend and I decided, continuing with our resolution from last year to travel more, that we needed a little break, so we scoured the website for some cheap flights and plumped on Rome as the destination. Next task, find a hotel. We were only going out for four days so we needed somewhere central which would be convenient for getting to all the sights and, hopefully, not too expensive. Neither of us had been to Rome before, so we had no idea of the best area to stay in, what the standards would be like, the cost; we were clueless! So with the help of the boyfriend's parents, who are travel agents and have also been to Rome before, we were recommended to stay at Hotel Cicerone . Hotel Cicerone is a 4* hotel with 292 rooms located a 5 minute walk from Lepanto metro station, on via Cicerone. We had flown into Rome...

When In Rome...

Advantages: Great Location, Great Room, Friendly Staff
Disadvantages: Lack of Wardrobe Space

...When In Rome? = When we decided to go to Rome we initially looked for a package deal, however, it soon became clear that this wasn't going to be practical and it would be far better to organise it ourselves. The first thing we did was to look for accommodation, of course this can be a mine field, some were just too far away from the centre and some just had awful reviews on tripadvisor.com (an invaluable resource). Eventually, after an hour or two of searching we came across this hotel, it was pretty much in the centre of the tourist attractions and had good reviews so we decided to book it, we were not disappointed. The hotel is three star (Ciao's description says one star for some reason). The outside of the hotel is very nice, a traditional six storey building like most in Rome with a rusty clay look. It is...

Best Location In Rome

Advantages: Location, space, staff are friendly, air con
Disadvantages: None

.... The Emmaus hotel (three star), centrally located, with plenty of amenities on its door step, spacious rooms and friendly, helpful staff, makes a fantastic hotel. Whether a short break in Rome or a few weeks holiday, Emmaus has so many advantages that it makes any length of stay a stress free and pleasant visit. It's located on Via delle Fornaci (25), which is practically in the Pope's lap. To get to it you can take the Via Di Ciampino road, turning right onto Via Appia Nuova for 8km and then you'll find yourself in the city. Just follow the signs to the centre and head north . Emmaus is minutes away from the Vatican (one hundred yards to be exact), so once you see that then you're almost there. Or you could take the train from Ciampino airport (Ciampino FS) to Stazione Termini. The fare is ?2 and you'll be able to buy your...

When in Rome...

Advantages: Fantastic for quality service, price, and location
Disadvantages: You'll want to stay longer and you'll want to go back!

...A couple of years ago I was lucky enough to head out to Rome for a 3 day break with family. Flying Easyjet from Newcastle very early in the morning, we arrived in a warm and sunny Ciampino Airport we could barely believe that the dark and cold December day we had left behind in Newcastle was still the same day in sunny Rome. My Aunty P, who is fluent in Italian, and lived for a long time in Rome, had arranged transport to our Hotel, The Hotel King, right in the heart of the city, and so we bundled ourselves into the large taxi cab, and off we went! For me, it was something of an adventure, as neither myself or my mum, who was also with us, had been to Rome before. I have long been enchanted by the Italian language, and find it the only language I know to *feel* so nice being spoken - there's just a gorgeous sensation as the words...

Ciao Bella! - The Best of Rome

Advantages: A lifetime of sights to see, excellent transport, amazing ice cream
Disadvantages: Very busy

...I visited here with two student friends in 2003, on a mission to soak up a lot of culture, have a great time and not spend much money, and we did pretty well on all counts. After sitting through years of torturous Latin lessons at school, I had high hopes for the city. We managed to find possibly the strangest hotel in Rome to stay in, the Hotel Giarda, near Stazione Termini, where they monitored our every movements through strategically placed security cameras, and the chamber maids had a good daily rifle through our luggage, but other than that it was well situated for exploring. Here are my top Roma sights (in no particular order): Vatican City: Even though this is slap bang in the middle of Rome, the Vatican is technically an independent state, with the Pope as sovereign, its own post office and legal system, and definitely...
