Fab priced hotel in the thick of New York City!

Advantages: Cheap, right by Times Square, friendly staff
Disadvantages: Rooms may be too small for some fussy travellers!

...When I was booking a holiday for my partner and I to go to New York, I did a lot of research about hotels, locations, sight-seeing spots etc and then tried to find the best one out of a huge list I made. I didn't want to pay a lot for the hotel because I knew we wouldn't be in it much, and when I saw the Best Western name, I thought it would be a good idea to stick with what I know! So I booked 4 nights in this hotel in December 2005, my second trip to the fantastic NYC. We easily got a transfer from the airport, and gave the driver the address which I had printed out before we left the UK. We speedily set off into the manic NYC traffic in our little yellow cab, and were there within about 1 hour, not bad considering the traffic! The hotel had a nice frontage, it was all gold, had loads of Christmas lights and little Christmas trees...

New York City's Best Kept Secret

Advantages: Small, Cheap, Quick to get around and beautiful animals
Disadvantages: Some animals looked way too hot in the heat we had. Wasn't sure if it was cruel or not?

...moaned at the fact that the zoo is quite small, mainly due to the fast that the animals are all placed in quite small enclosures, the sea lions spent most of their time when we were there, swimming back and forth in front of us. I think the only animal we really were a little bit worried for was the polar bear, but it did look quite depressed, but I have to say, I?ve never seen a happy polar bear. Price If we hadn?t have had the pass it would have cost us $8 to get in each, which may seem like a lot when you think about how small the zoo is, but we enjoyed every minute of it, it is a lovely part of New York City and it is so much more different from everything else surrounding central park. Final Opinion A lovely little zoo, despite the fact that some of the best interests of the animals might be questioned...

See All of New York For $45

Advantages: An amazing idea, it allowed us to see a lot more of New York
Disadvantages: Not always spaces upstairs, Annoying and Disrespectful Tour Guides

...and worked out where to get on and off and it worked perfectly. Considering I?m terrible with directions and working out how to get places, this was very easy to do and it helped me loads. I would recommend using this to help you decide where to go if you decide to use this service if you are in New York. Views There are some amazing views to be seen on this bus, some of the best pictures I took in New York, were taken on the top of the bus. I would recommend that if you go in the middle of August or a very hot day, take sun glasses and a hat, you will get easily dehydrated and I found myself getting quite ill during the uptown tour as on the walk up to get the bus for the tour, we had drunk all of our water bottles, if it wasn?t for the amazing people on the streets of New York (see below), then I think I would have been very ill even...

Review of Grey Line New York Sightseeing Bus Tours

The perfect location in New York

Advantages: Brilliant location, modern, big room, huge TV, one of the cheapest hotels
Disadvantages: Breakfast is expensive, toilet blocked a couple of times, not enough lifts

...had in a hotel. They had some great TV channels including news, sports, a lot of Spanish channels(?) and the best channel which showed comedy stuff like The King of Queens and Judge Judy. We also had a small table and a couple of chairs, a big desk, a phone and a digital alarm clock. The bathroom was very clean and they provided good bath products and lotions. My husband used the gym a few times which he said was good. I looked at all the hotel's in this area that had a good location and this was one of the cheapest ones. Although still, admittedly, very expensive, prices are good for a central New York hotel. We paid $1,400 for the week but this wasn't including breakfast (I wouldn't book breakfast here as it's pretty pricey at about £18 a day). Best Western Le Donjon Les Ramparts certainly not Best Value

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Split into different buildings, expensive.

I can?t really describe it any other way, it was a square building with grey walls but on entering it was actually very well set out. Stone floors and stairs, interesting antiques and very clean so I was quite looking forward seeing the rooms. Well I was disappointed. The rooms pictured on the Best Western website looked nothing like ours. I can only imagine that they are executive rooms and not standard ones. ...My boyfriend turned 30 a few weeks ago and for his present I booked us a trip to New York and the Wellington Hotel is where I picked for us to stay due to its central location in Manhattan. Last Wednesday we flew out to NYC and checked into the Wellington. If you didn't know already this is where part of the Borat film was made, the main scene being where he tries to unpack his things in the lift thinking its his room and so many Borat jokes ensued in the elevators during our stay. The location of the hotel is amazing, its a 1 minute walk from Carnegie Hall, 2 minutes from Central Park and 5 minutes from Times Square and is located on the corner of 55th Street and 7th Avenue. Advantages: Fabulous shopping, bargains, great sights
Disadvantages: You will be tired and have foot pain at the end of the trip

.... You have your photo taken on the 80th floor before going up to the observation deck which you can purchase afterwards. We did, although it was quite expensive, something like $15, but it was our first time there and we wanted a souvenir. The views from the top are amazing and we were lucky that it was a clear day. It was freezing cold, quite unseasonably so for March we were told, but you wouldn't know it from the photos. After we'd bought some things from the gift shop we went back down to the street and explored further before finding our way to Macys. To me, Macys is still the best department store in New York, if not the world. It is huge. If you are not a resident you can go to the visitor centre and show your passport for a discount card which entitles you to a further 11% off. Combined with the low prices in store this...

best choice from best western

Advantages: location
Disadvantages: none that i can think of

...in altrincham are quite expensive, i would say the bars in here are about the same price wise - only last week at a doo here it was £2.90 for a pint of becks. They have the main bar at the front which is open to the public aswell, which now has an ouside seating area due to the new smoking ban and they also have a bar in the bigger of the two function rooms, plus a couple of smaller bars for the smaller function rooms. Function rooms: Now the hotel has 11 functions rooms overall of which some are actually two of the smaller ones that can be extended byt doors to creat some of the bigger ones. They are popular for wedding receptions as of their location and because of their size and also because the hotel has FREE parking for 200 cars so, it's a good choice for people who dod have to travel to the hotel. Bentley Hotel - New York New York!!!!

Advantages: Clean, nice rooms - amazing views from roof top balcony
Disadvantages: 24 Hour coffee bar was actually a vending machine!!

...My lovely husband booked a short stay in New York for my ?surprise? 30th birthday. This was in 2002 and we went there at the beginning of October of that year. Just as a side note before I start the review of the hotel, the weather was fantastic and for much of the time we went out regularly in T-shirts. Anyway we stayed at The Bentley Hotel for the whole of our stay and overall we were impressed and enjoyed our time there. **ABOUT THE HOTEL** The Bentley is a 3 star hotel which was built in 1904 and last renovated in 2002, however I have a feeling some renovation may be going on now as the roof top restaurant has been closed until further notice. Disadvantages: a bit spartan and threadbare

...Kiel is not the most conducive place for a winter holiday so it has to be reasoned that anyone wishing to stay there then would either do so on business or in transit. Being the main centre for U Boat construction during WW2, Keil was then a favourite destination for RAF Bomber Command and was badly damaged; the reconstruction is about as imaginative as some similar city centres in the UK such as Plymouth - in other words a quick-fix urban monstrosity. The Best Western Hotel in Kiel rose up out of an existing office block and despite some attempts to disguise the fact, it shows.
