This international hotel chain is made-up of individually owned and operated hotels and inns around the globe. However, reputedly it is not easy to qualify for membership of Best Western – prospective members must meet some very exacting standards and each hotel in UK is independently inspected on an annual basis by the AA. Globally there are around 4,000 hotels in the group whilst there are several hundred in the UK. Advantages: Beautiful surroundings, comfortable hotel, friendly staff
Disadvantages: Ripon is a little quiet...

...Myself and my husband stayed at th Ripon Spa hotel for 2 nights. The day before our break, the hotel rang us to say that there was a function on on the Saturday, but that the music from it shouldn't bother us as we wer in a different part of the hotel, which i thought was very courteous. We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist, who checked us in and gave us some basic info about where th restauraunt was, what time breakfast was, etc. Best Western Hotels are quite perculiar in the sense that even though they are part of a national chain, they are independantly and often family run, so this one felt very cosy. Our room was on the frist floor and over looked the front of the hotel, across a main road and onto a landscaped park opposite. The room was fairly small, just enought room for the furniture, but it was spotlessly clean... Read review
