Bewleys Hotel Dublin
Advantages: Near To Airport, Price
Disadvantages: None?
...I stayed at the Bewleys Hotel once before flying out from Dublin Airport, its a great location if you chose to fly from Dublin and live quite far away from it.
The double room we stayed in cost around 69 euros for one night, this is reasonable when you look at it from the point of view that travelling to the airport will be much easier the day after and also that your holiday begins a day earlier by staying there.
The room was clean and tidy and quite modernly decorated, there were two large (well big enough) double beds in the twin room and a small sitting area, the bathroom was clean and had a shower and a bath in it and had a few little treats like shower gel and a small sewing kit in it which I always like when I am staying in a hotel. There was a decent sized tv in the room that had a good range of channels that catered...

Bewleys Hotel Manchester Airport
Advantages: near to airport a comfortable hotel and affordable
Disadvantages: none
...***Introduction***
I had a flight booked from Manchester to Rhodes three weeks ago but unfortunately the check in time was 5.30 am. I really needed to be refreshed on my arrival because it was a business trip so I decided to check into Bewleys Hotel the night before, I have on previous occasions driven from home to the airport and found it very tedious and stressful normally leaving me feeling like a washed up dish rag by the time I arrived at my destination.
***The Hotel***
It is situated about three minutes walk from terminal 3 but also provides a 24 hour shuttle service to all the terminals.
I actually travelled by train to the airport and on arrival I located the free phone in the main concourse to contact the shuttle service, they picked me up within five minutes which impressed me no end.
It is a large...

Another Good Quality Hotel From Bewleys
Advantages: Good quality, modern 3-star hotel
Disadvantages: A bit out in the sticks
...Bewley's Hotel in Leopardstown is situated in the Sandyford Business Park in the southern suburbs of the city, about 5 miles from the city centre, and about 24 miles or so from Dublin Airport if you take the most direct route via the M50 ring road.
This makes it just a tad on the inaccessible side. You can access it by using the Aircoach service from Dublin Airport for Euro7 single or Euro12 return, but at best this will take you around an hour (off-peak) or nearer two hours in the rush hour periods. A taxi from the airport will cost you no less than Euro50 (using the M50) and up to as much as Euro70 during rush hours. This is one of the reasons I can often be found hanging around the entrance to this hotel in my taxi. (Heh, heh) Even a fare into the city will cost you Euro15 to Euro20!
The hotel is only about a five minute brisk...

You Can Get High On The Smell Alone
Advantages: A fine old Dublin establishment.
Disadvantages: It's about to close down!
...~ ~ The whole of Ireland has been shocked and stunned in the past week with the announcement that Bewleys, the world famous chain of coffee shops and cafes, are to close their doors for the last time sometime before Christmas. (2004) Bewleys two remaining Dublin cafes are both located in high profile (and high rent!) areas of the city; one in Grafton Street, the capital?s main shopping area, and the other in Westmoreland Street, right beside O?Connell bridge and the bustling tourist area of Temple Bar.
~ ~ Bewleys have been trading in Dublin since the early 1800?s, having been founded by the Bewley family, prominent Quakers who moved to Ireland around 1700. They began the business as a company importing fine tea and coffee from the Far East, and their first retail premises opened in Sycamore Alley, just off Dame Street, in 1840...

Sweet stay in Sweet Street
Advantages: Position, Cleanliness, Most of the staff
Disadvantages: Reception staff could be a bit friendlier, room colours
...~~Reasons for choosing this hotel~~
The business I had to visit is literally across the road, near the M1/M62 junction and, having stayed here before overnight, I thought it was a decent option for a two night business stay.
~~Booking~~
The Bewleys website, is very easy to navigate and when I selected the Leeds hotel out of the 6 hotels available and put in the required dates I was presented with a list of the available rooms. I had to book for myself and a colleague and we both wanted smoking rooms which are thankfully still available at this hotel. I chose twin rooms as there were no standard doubles listed and twins are advertised as having a double and single bed. The room rate was £79.00 per night plus breakfast at £6.95.
~~Arrival~~
We accessed the hotel via the lift (there are also stairs) from the secure...

I don't feel well
Advantages: None that I know of.
Disadvantages: Cold tasteless food, cakes not to fresh, can be very smokey.
...Bewleys is a constitution in Dublin and so maybe since I am not from Dublin I will probably never understand why. It has being described 'One of the great cafés of Europe' by the Council of Europe, a description that I totally disagree with.
Coffee is the only item I consume in Bewleys nowadays. I can't stomach the food anymore. The coffee is strong and there is a relatively good selection but don't expect it to be served in generous amounts as the cups are tiny. Actually don't expect to be served within 10 minutes of arriving in the café as the service is diabolical.
Imagine a traditional Irish breakfast. I know that you are thinking of that lovely juicy bacon, tender sausages, runny fried eggs adorned with black and white pudding. That is a nice thought but don't expect it here. But not to let you be disillusioned expect...

Great Value 3-Star Hotel
Advantages: Highly recommended 3-star Dublin hotel handy for the city centre
Disadvantages: Not a lot!
...Bewley's Hotel in Ballsbridge, Dublin 4, is arguably the best value 3-star Dublin hotel within spitting distance of the city centre. At a set price of a mere Euro109 per room per night (due to increase to Euro119 from 1st April 2008) Bewley's Ballsbridge is extremely good value for money.
The maximum number of guests per room is two. This means that for just under Euro60 per person you get a good standard 3-star hotel room, with all the usual 3-star amenities like an ensuite bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board, TV, hair dryer, in-room safe, etc. An added bonus at Bewleys is that you also get free internet access (broadband) in all rooms and in all public areas using their wireless internet LAN.
Family rooms are also available that will comfortably sleep two adults and three kids. (Kids are free...

Handy For A Flying Visit
Advantages: Good value 3-star hotel very convenient for Dublin Airport.
Disadvantages: A wee bit out in the boondocks.
...Bewley's Airport Hotel is one of four Bewley's Hotels in Dublin city.
Like all three of their other hotels it offers exceptional value for money for a fairly up-market 3-star hotel. The beauty of this particular Bewley's hotel is that it is very convenient to Dublin Airport, (about one and a half miles) and thus very handy for people paying a "flying" visit to Dublin (simply stopping over for one night to catch an ongoing flight) or for country people from Ireland who have a very early morning flight to catch and don't want to get out of bed at 2AM in order to catch it!
Lots of people also use the "Park and Ride" facility to Dublin Airport that the hotel offers both residents and non-residents. You pay Euro7 per day to use their car park, (Euro8 from 1/4/2008) and this includes a free bus service to departures, and a free journey...

Amazingly cheap and lovely ground coffee!
Advantages: Nice Tasting
Disadvantages: none
...honest I nearly passed out. It looked expensive and it was a big bag. I was expecting it to be around £6 but was in for a pleasant surprise.
The packing is lovely and unique and looks of great quality. It is all different colours on the front and is twice the size of a normal bag of fresh coffee. It has a map of Kenya all over the packet and on the front it says Bewleys Connoisseur Kenya, Kahawa Mzuri.
On the side of the packet is a brief history of the company and apparently they have been in business since 1840 when Joshua Bewley introduced tea to Ireland and afterwards they bought out different coffee companies. They also sell fair trade coffee as well. A few years back they were bought out by Campbells.
What I liked about this coffee straight away was its unique packaging and it is certainly eye catching and I have been on their...
