Carlton Bilbao - another travellers tale!

Advantages: Opulent, near the Guggenheim, best in town
Disadvantages: only that there's not more reason to go more often

...The first time I stayed at the Carlton it was entirely accidental. I had flown from Madrid to Bilbao with a Spanish colleague probably 10 years ago and our flight was so late that the hotel where we had bookings had given our rooms away to someone else. It was late, we were tired and grouchy and they offered to find us 2 rooms somewhere else. The Carlton - being the best (and most expensive) hotel in town - had two rooms. We rolled up in the wee small hours of the morning, paid an arm, a leg and a few other body parts and spent no more than about 6 hours in our rooms before heading off in the morning. Boring Bilbao. I don't think so!

Advantages: Cheap to fly
Disadvantages: Not much stuff for children

...Those of you, who know me, will know why I like Bilbao. For those of you that don?t know me I like Bilbao because of the Guggenheim. The Guggenheim is an art museum run by the Guggenheim family; they also have a museum in New York and Chicago. As well as the art I am also interested in the Architecture of it. I went to Bilbao for a 2-day trip with my Dad, he had been there before so he knew what it was like but for me it was a totally new experience. The flight there was about two hours, which flew by. Review of Bilbao (Spain)

Generally Chaotic

Advantages: Multiplayer, nice animation, quirky
Disadvantages: Pales into obscurity versus todays technology

...I decided to write a review of this seeing as I've never met anyone else who has ever heard of this bar my own brother. we used to while away the time on this simplistic army game. The game is named after one of the storyline's main General's. The conflict in question is between the blue forces of 'General Chaos' and the red troops of 'General Havoc.' The game is a very cartoony offering from EA, released in 1994 on SEGA Mega Drive. It is a mulitplayer compatible game and two players can play either co-op or against each other, and if I'm not mistaken, it was also possible to play 4 player with use of the special multiplayer pads. GENERAL Turkish Wine

Advantages: Better than Greek wine
Disadvantages: Four times more expensive than similar french table wine.

...Having made a hash of slotting my two last reviews into the right category, I found this no easier. I just want to talk about wine in Turkey - in general - and if you are contemplating a holiday there for the first time - what you might expect to buy. Firstly I went to Bodrum on a sailing holiday in October 2006 and had a fantastic holiday, sailing out of Bodrum, which is absolutely gorgeous - a gem in fact, with such friendly people. I actually didn't want to go, having worked in Turkey near the Iraq border twice before.How wise I was not to refuse to go (which was on my mind) "Toursit" Turkey is like that however, but wine is not available in general off the beaten track. Being the 2nd largest Spanish city, it boasts both the fast-paced city atmosphere yet also an open coastline with sandy beaches. Hotels can be found all across the city to suit everyone's tastes and ideal locations - may I recommend the Hotel Balmes on Calle Mallorca as a very good value 3 star hotel in a great location for the average tourist like me (see my review for this hotel should the mood take you). Transport The transport system seems very well run as there is an underground train network running to all the main attractions and back to the city centre on a very regular basis and at a very good price - we bought a 10 journey ticket which made each single journey just 77cents...such a good price when you think...

  Una Ciudad Muy Bonita

Harlow in general.... Jeremy Kyle-esque?

Advantages: Lots of shops, some good bars & lots of nice takeaways here.
Disadvantages: Some of the people are just atrocious.

...I have lived in Harlow on and off for around 7 years now and have seen quite a few changes over time. Harlow has a few main areas such as The Stow, Staple Tye, Potter Street, Old Harlow & the main town centre. Each place has it's own shops, pubs etc and generally if you ask someone in Harlow where they come from it'll be "The Stow" or "near Potter St" rather than "blah blah street". There are two main shopping areas in the Town Centre and these are the Harvey Centre & The Water Gardens both within two or three minutes walk of each other and hosting a variety of bars, cafes, restaurants etc and some of the big stores such as Primark, Next, M&S, Top Shop, Jane Norman, JD Sports, Burtons, etc and there are also Supermarkets in the form of Tesco & Asda.
