There's Nothing Rubbish About This Bin

...fingerprint-proof, in fact when my daughter saw the sticker claiming this on the bin when it came out of the box it was like a red rag to a bull and she started smearing her grubby little paws all over my nice shiny new bin! The bin seems every bit as prone to fingerprint smudges as any other stainless steel surface so this claim does not live up to scrutiny. However, when I polish the bin with my Cif stainless steel cleaner it looks lovely and shiny and bright. The removable plastic liner is made of a nice solid black plastic and is easy to remove to give it a quick wipe down, the fact the plastic is smooth makes cleaning it really easy. The bin came supplied with Simplehuman's own bin bags which retail at £2.99 for 30 size B liners. ...a little void in the inner bin if you wish to tuck the bag in some more - it is this kind of detail which make simplehuman products great. As for the bag change - easy. There are two inner handles to lift out the inner bin, sunk into the bin itself. These is a complete pleasure after the brabantia experience (a bucket handle which always snagged on the bin liner for me). The liner is easily lifted out and it is easy to keep the whole thing clean. I have discovered that the branded bin bags can be purchased for about £15 for 100 online, which seems fair, prices seem to vary considerably so check this out before buying as special bin bags are a hidden running cost to all these kinds of bins. Review of Simple Human CW1845 Corner Bin

The Rolls Royce of kitchen bins....

Advantages: Size. convenience, touch top lid

.... Brabantia also do special white bin liners for it which I admit I always use. Theyre the perfect size for the bin so you dont have any bits of bag hanging down over the rim, they have good drawstring ties for when you do have to finally empty it. On the downside they are a bit pricy and arent always the easiest to get hold of, but Homebase, Safeway and Tesco now stock them. My big new bin seemed to be almost full in days again but as I had been instructed to do when it got to that stage, I pushed it all down and I had half a bin empty again ready to refill. I only empty it once a week now, well I say I do, I dont personally lol, but its only emptied once a week. Oh and I dont know what it is but it doesnt half keep in the smells, you know when youve had rubbish lying a few days it starts to pong a bit, I can honestly say Ive never noticed...

The removable black inner bucket is a good idea for easy cleaning if necessary and has vents at the base of it so there is no horrible tugging to get the bin liner out when full. There is no vacuum whatsover. I found it very easy to clean. I just use a soft damp cloth. No abrasive or chemical cleaning agents, jut plain old soapy water does the trick! Brabantia do sell bin liners to go with this product. I had a pack of 3 liners inside the bin as a sample. I found them very good and strong. ...I bought a Brabantia 50 litre bin with a lid that you just press to open and shut for the kitchen which is so much more convenient than a pedal. The capacity is big enough so you only need to empty it on bin day. The bin has it's own branded liners. I have come back to using them now because they are cheaper now and fit neatly in the bin and when you lift the liner out the rubbish doesn't collapse into the empty gaps of generic liners that don't quite fit properly. The one big problem with the bin is the lid. Everyone I know who has one has had the clip broken. I love the convenience of the lid but you can see that it's bound to break.
